  1. Hey I am a newbie in AD. Is it possible to do this in AD https://youtu.be/sDM5VwDpCtw I want to make a cirkel and with 2 stroke Divide it into 3 parts and fill them in different colors
  2. I have three overlapping circles and I want to create new shapes/curves from the seven intersections. To achieve this I select all three circles and press Layer -> Geometry -> Divide. This does create the seven curves I want, but also about 20 other curves that I have to delete since they are so small they aren't even visible. Unfortunately the newly created curves do not perfectly fit together. Now I can see the white background where the circles used to intersect. This also happens when I compound them manually. Is this expected behaviour or should I use a different technique? Thanks.
  3. Hi. How can I open closed contour or divide point? Or select and remove edge? Thanks. I am trying to find this feature for 1 hour and no success. Thanks.
  4. Hi. I'm having issues while dividing some paths, then combining all together again. When I do that, Affinity Designer freezes, then I have to close it and open again.
  5. Hey, I just tested the divide operation with three intersecting circles. I documented the outcome in the screenshots. The shapes might look okay, but the outlines of two shapes show weird extensions. ~Andrej
  6. Today I needed to slice/divide some paths and realized Designer has "NO" tools to cut a path anywhere and give you two separate paths! Am I missing something? I keep not wanting to use Illustrator but I keep finding simple tools missing. This is just like not having an offset path command, handy tools.
  7. Good evening! I try to get used to Affinity Designer and now have a problem to work with nodes from an SVG file. I have a file that gets loaded asa single layer object. I now want to select some nodes and group them as new object or to cut them with ctrl + x but it always cuts the whole big object, not only the selected nodes. I can delete selected nodes. There is the "Divide" tool, that does get most parts separated into own objects, but sometimes has problems with thin lines like with my shield, it makes big filled objects instead of thin lines. Maybe someone can tell me how I can get own objects out of closed nodes? Problem this shield: gets divided to full black objects: HTML5-SVG-SingleObject.svg shild.svg
  8. Need help! Why this is happening to me? Is my setting is wrong or what? Can someone help me? :( Always fail when I want to make something geometrical... . .
  9. Hello, I´m new here and I would like to know if there is a possibility to merge a path (line)? And if on the other hand it is possible to divide a path (line) into 2 or more pathes? I think in Illustrator there is a scissors, but I can´t find anything similar in Affinity desgn. It would be really great if somenone can help me...! Thanks in advance und my best regards, sandfraeulein
  10. Hi Folks, Just wanted to bring something to your attention. So I was creating a shape and need to place another shape within the original and loose the excess. To do this I used the divide tool. The problem was, I had also used the corner tool with the original shape to curve my corners in. As soon as I used the divide tool though I lost the curved corners and they reverted back to their original shape. Wasn't sure if this was bug or just one of those things. Either way just wanted to make you aware. Keep up the good work Mark
  11. Dear all, I am trying to create a simple vector shape logo, however when I use the divide boolean tool to erase certain parts of shapes I get a very thin white space between the divided shapes. I am probably doing this wrong, however would like to know if there is a way of dividing or erasing certain parts of shapes places on each other without this space as it is not as crisp as i would like. I have attached a photo to show what I mean. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :-)
  12. I love the corner tool - awesome stuff. But as soon as I apply a boolean operation to shapes (add, subtract, intersect, divide, combine) their corners become baked and the ability to edit corners is lost. I imagine that it *might* be possible for any unaffected corners to retain their corner tool setting (i.e. existing corners with a corner tool setting applied, that are not created or changed by the boolean operation being applied). This would be a great help. Currently when ever I want to apply a boolean operation on a shape that has a corner, I first have to zero the corner, remember what it was, then reapply it after the boolean operation is applied.
  13. I have this and I want to merge the objects: ADDING the objects results in this: Now obviously that's not what's expected. Any ideas why!? It's done this on several occasions and is beginning to get extremely frustrating.
  14. Hi, I was wondering if there is a tool in Affinity Designer that would allow me to do what "Add Anchor Points" does in Illustrator (Object > Path > Add Anchor Points). Basically what I'm trying to do is add an anchor point directly between two anchor points on a shape. So, if I create a circle which has 4 anchor points, I'd like to turn it into a circle with 8 anchor points that are evenly spaced. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
  15. Using Divide works fine except when I have a shape completely inside another shape. Attached is an example of the results I'm getting: 1. This shows the 3 shapes I'm using. 2. Here they are overlapping each other completely inside one another. 3. When I click "Divide," I expect to get 3 new shapes: 1 blue ring, 1 red ring, and 1 yellow circle. But instead it looks none of the circles are being divided (cut into) and a filled circle is being created where holes should be.
