I use the live defringing filter all the time. However, I have found it takes a long time to flatten it. Is this a bug or is there a way to resolve this?

Hi everyone, Affinity photo crashes every time I use the defringe tool to remove purple outlines in photos. I am editing .jpg files and get the same result with multiple different files. When I click on the purple area the software will show a preview of the image with fringing removed, but when I click apply, the whole app shuts down. I have MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 and Affinity Photo 1.7.3. Would be great if anyone knows a way to fix this. Thank you.

Very useful for cut outs, please add a way to decontaminate colors in selections, as well as an option to remove white/black matte. These are very useful options to remove halos around selections. Defringe, whether Colors or Live Filter, doesn't do anything on masks. The manual alternatives off painting the halo off the mask is very time consuming.

Early digital cameras I used created fringes that are colourless (white). The defringe dialogue seems to offer no solution to this. The attached screen clip shows what I mean. There must surely be some way around this, or? This must occur for others who might have found a cure. Defringe has been used on this image with partial success. Adjusting edge brightness didn't help. In every other way AP offers really excellent processing of these antique 2Mp images especially when using channels techniques.

I have recently purchased Affinity Photo and started to play around with it in the last couple of days. It's a great software and I am still learning the ropes, but I have run into an issue that I have been unable to solve so far. I have an image of winter mountaineering in Glen Coe that shows moderate purple fringing which I have attempted to reduce as described in one of the official video tutorials, but none of the methods work. Whether I am working with a live filter layer or through the Filters => Colours => 'Chromatic Aberration' or 'Defringe', the amount of fringing does not change in the slightest, even when applying the latter several times. The fringing is both prominent and in stark contrast to the surrounding areas, so should not be difficult to remove for any software. I have made sure my layers are selected properly (ignore the fact that in the screenshot they're not) and have not managed to find any solution via Google or this forum. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? Screenshot attached.

Very new to the Affinity Photo game so trying to get to grips with the most efficient workflows. I'm trying to remove a green screen background for some product images to make useable PNGs of the product images. I have had reasonable results simply using the selection brush tool and gradually selecting the edges then refining as best I can however the results are not always as clean as I'd like them to be, I'm sure there are some much more efficient/cleverer methods of reaching the same goal. I have linked 2 images (the uploader wouldn’t let me add any for some reason) both of which contain finer detail around the bottom tassels, with the cream coloured product a green glow is left over around the edge from the green screen once I've removed it. So, what I'm asking you guys for is... * What is the most efficient method of removing a background like this from an image? • What is the best method for refining the selection around the finer details? * What is the best means of removing the green glow around the edge of the product after background removal? Cheers guys, any help is very much appreciated! Image 1 Image 2
