  1. I use the live defringing filter all the time. However, I have found it takes a long time to flatten it. Is this a bug or is there a way to resolve this?
  2. Hi everyone, Affinity photo crashes every time I use the defringe tool to remove purple outlines in photos. I am editing .jpg files and get the same result with multiple different files. When I click on the purple area the software will show a preview of the image with fringing removed, but when I click apply, the whole app shuts down. I have MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 and Affinity Photo 1.7.3. Would be great if anyone knows a way to fix this. Thank you.
  3. Over the last few months I have started to get blocky artefacts when defringing. This happens in both develop and photo personas, but is more marked in photo. In develop it seems to be a preview/display bug and is resolved when clicking develop to go to the photo persona. However, if I apply defringe in photo persona I sometimes get the desaturated blocks as seen in the example attached. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
  4. Very useful for cut outs, please add a way to decontaminate colors in selections, as well as an option to remove white/black matte. These are very useful options to remove halos around selections. Defringe, whether Colors or Live Filter, doesn't do anything on masks. The manual alternatives off painting the halo off the mask is very time consuming.
  5. Early digital cameras I used created fringes that are colourless (white). The defringe dialogue seems to offer no solution to this. The attached screen clip shows what I mean. There must surely be some way around this, or? This must occur for others who might have found a cure. Defringe has been used on this image with partial success. Adjusting edge brightness didn't help. In every other way AP offers really excellent processing of these antique 2Mp images especially when using channels techniques.
  6. Greetings, I am trying out Affinity Photo. I want to defringe an image (TIFF file) but nothing happens when I use the defringe layer. ???
  7. I have recently purchased Affinity Photo and started to play around with it in the last couple of days. It's a great software and I am still learning the ropes, but I have run into an issue that I have been unable to solve so far. I have an image of winter mountaineering in Glen Coe that shows moderate purple fringing which I have attempted to reduce as described in one of the official video tutorials, but none of the methods work. Whether I am working with a live filter layer or through the Filters => Colours => 'Chromatic Aberration' or 'Defringe', the amount of fringing does not c
  8. Very new to the Affinity Photo game so trying to get to grips with the most efficient workflows. I'm trying to remove a green screen background for some product images to make useable PNGs of the product images. I have had reasonable results simply using the selection brush tool and gradually selecting the edges then refining as best I can however the results are not always as clean as I'd like them to be, I'm sure there are some much more efficient/cleverer methods of reaching the same goal. I have linked 2 images (the uploader wouldn’t let me add any for some reason) both o
