  1. First, Affinity Designer is beautiful and extremely efficient tool. I like it! I am doing design and artwork for front panels / operating panels of electric devices and machines. The drawings are available in DXF and / or DWG from Autocad (trademark). What would really speed up my workflow is the option to *import* DXF or DWG files. Considering that these files can carry very complex information it would be sufficient to be able import only a single layer file or a single layer of such a file. This contains all mechanical data so I can be sure that the artwork will match the target
  2. We are very interested in transitioning from Illustrator to Affinity Designer. We are product designers (not illustrators) and use Illustrator in combination with our CAD package; it's an essential workflow for us. Anyway, part of this workflow involves importing and exporting dxf files. I've seen in this forum the request for dxf support. However, as I've not yet bought Designer, I'm not sure if this feature has been added. Has it? If yes, great! If not, please can someone outline if this feature will be added soon and when? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi, It will be a bit long, since I have to touch other, very closely related issues as well. Rhino to Affinity Designer: So I'm a bit lost, at first a seemingly easy excercise: how do I get linework from Rhino/RhinoWIP to Affinity Designer without using a 3rd software? The exported .ai/.eps files won't be read, and .dwg is still out of league. Relevant McNeel Discourse threads: https://discourse.mcneel.com/t/what-export-option-to-use-to-get-rhino-into-affinity-designer/38872/6 https://discourse.mcneel.com/t/exporting-in-eps-ai-form
  4. Please Please Please. I love the Affinity applications but this is the one thing that has me frustrated.... I am an illustrator that uses architects plans to build from and the import of other formats isn't satisfactory. Thanks.
  5. Dear Affinity, We are loving Designer and enjoying the transition from Adobe for all the three products. However, for us, a key feature that's missing is the ability in Designer to import/export .dxf files. Back in 2015 (I think) we requested this as a feature request but it's still not implemented. Any idea if/when it might be arriving? It's really vital for our workflow as we work with imports/exports for CAD. Edward
  6. Hello, my proposition is, we have an option to export curves to DXF or DWG. Im sure there are more people who not only use Affinity Designer for 2D graphics, but also for using its curves for cutting with laser or others. Sometimes i need DXF file for that, and PDF with curves is not supported by CNC. Obviously i can export it to svg and export by other programs, but its a way around this problem and not really a proper solution.
  7. Hello I often need to manage cad file like DXF and DWG. Is there the possibility to handle them in any further version? thanks! Denis
  8. Would like to see industry standard DXF or DWG export format for exporting vectors to CAD software programs. tx
  9. Just bought my copy, and even though I haven't delved much into the soft yet, the first little thing that comes across, is the lack of DWG/DXF support. Those file formats are still industry standard within CNC manufacturing, and also for architecture it could come in handy. Bests, Morten
  10. Can we export files in DWG or DXF format? So far I don't see that feature. We could do with Draw Plus and Adobe Illustrator.
