  1. I haven’t shared any work for a while so here’s something that I was playing around with yesterday and this morning. It’s a bit more complicated that it first looks (for example, I had to recreate the top of her head which was missing from the original image: https://pixabay.com/photos/girl-portrait-fantasy-face-eyes-4258000/ ). I’m not totally happy with the result – it’s not quite ‘there’ yet – but it’s good enough for now. (It’s deliberately fairly low-res so I didn’t have to worry about too much detail.)
  2. ...The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter: The Scary Door. Just a silly DVD insert that I put together for a bit of fun. (Actually a re-hash of something I did ages ago with other software.) Nothing special but I thought it might bring a smile to some faces.
  3. Here's another DVD cover experiment that I've been playing around with today (it's not for anything real, it's just for fun). First version is on the left, second version is on the right. Some notes on the changes for the second version: * some text has been added/removed/moved around; * the colour has been changed to something I thought was more "ephemeral"; * the effects on the logotype have been altered; * the monster is a bit nearer to the girl; * the girl has been changed to a figure that looks more "wary"; * some noise has been added to the darkness. What does anyone think? (I keep thinking it's missing something but every time I add something - another monster, some grasping hands, etc. - it looks worse.) Is there anything you would change? Are my font choices okay? Could the layout be better? What do you think of the colour choices? Is there anything you really hate? Is the anything you really like? Have I made any glaring mistakes? As usual, all constructive comments/suggestions/criticisms are welcome.
  4. Here's a version of a DVD insert experiment which I originally created with some other software a while ago. It's not perfect by any means - a lot of work would still need to be done if it wasn't just for fun - but it was easy to do with AD and gave me a chance to try various features. (It was a lot easier to put this together with AD than it was with the other software.) Comments, criticisms, tips and advice are all welcome.
  5. I have searched tutorial for the creation of Buttons for DVD menus with Affinity photo but I do not find, you will know if there would be any. :( :( :( Thank you
  6. Hello everybody, As i said in my introduction, i am a simple hobbyistn self-learner and i like the world of graphic design. i have discover Affinity Designer in the release of the first beta version for windows..what a great software ;) And, of course, i bought it the first day of the final release, prevent me from taking subscription to Ad..e ;) So, i know as i am not a professional , my job is under the quality of the professionals but i want to learn, to learn , to learn. So, here it is ( and sorry for my bad English ) : 1 - My personal logo, just for laughing , the background is done with Houdini : 2 - A print-style poster ( just for me ) , the sentence is "Take the Stairs ! " and " Burn calories and not Carbon" ;-) 3 - A print style poster ( just for me ) of what i think from Bayer/Monsanto lol : 4 - A flyers in A5 for "Le paradis infernal" musical, ( very good amateur singers ),'print): 5 - A rollup for "Le paradis infernal" musical , big-size (print) : 6 - A little booklet for people who came to see the show "Le paradis infernal" musical ( print) : ( re size for posting here ) 7 - 2 pages from the 16 pages booklet for " Le paradis inferna" musical ( cd+dvd boxset) (print) : 8- This is the rollup printed : And a cd cover, dvd I and II etc . So let me think what you think about it please, All the very best, David
  7. Hi everyone! Help! I was wondering if someone could do a template for me for a jewel case panel? Ive attached a picture similar to what I am talking about. I found this online so I copied it just to show you guys what I mean. I also attached the CD Label that someone else had posted in affinity forum back in 2014. That worked perfectly for me because it allowed me to edit it. So I would like something similar done to the back panel template so I can edit it in the future. Thank you!
