  1. I'm pretty sure there are other requests for this, but being able to save window arrangements/layouts into custom workspaces is a pretty essential feature. I use Photoshop and Illustrator, but will sometimes use Affinity Designer and Photo for fun. My Illustrator is CS6, so I'll often use Designer to at least convert my AI vector to a more modern/stable copy or just design it in Designer if I don't need to use the Illustrator features I'm use to using. Having to rearrange my windows every time or make due with the default layout everytime I switch to an Affinity program is extremely cumbersome. On the whole, I love the programs Serif Labs have put out and think they're extremely functional and promising. It's fun and exciting to see how they're progressing and I hope they continue developing like they've been doing
  2. How do I export custom brushes or the entire custom brush category to have a backup copy and improve it to other devices? I see how to import brushes in the brushes studio but I don’t see a way to import them. Thanks, Larry
  3. Hi, while working with colors (reds,yellows,magentas.... HSL....) I am still missing the possibility to choose a range of colors I want to be working with. Something like a slider on the color line (do not want to describe more as it is a common feature in PS....). It is very useful Please.... Jindra
  4. I am sure there is a simple solution to this, but I can't figure it out. When creating a custom brush, in this case a metal tube, the outcome is no in color. Is this be design or is there something in the settings that I am missing? In the attached image the curved pipe is the one I created using the brush. The other images are what the brush was created from and of course a screen shot of the brush settings.
  5. I want to suggest a feature for the iPad version of Affinity Photo. I would like some options to customize the workspace to my liking and be able to save it for later use. I wish I could customize the panels by dragging into them the tools & shortcuts that I use most and removing the ones I rarely use. This would allow me to create a workspace that suits my workflow, which is very important for working quickly and having an enjoyable experience when using the program. A custom workspace can be useful to anyone and it may be different according to the type of project that someone is working on.
  6. In Affinity Photo (I expect this is the same for Designer), the Export Persona has a number of options for sizes in for the slices. For example, I can choose 1x or 2x, 100w, and other sizes. Nowhere can I say “export to a width of my choosing”. So I can’t scale an image to, say, 900px this way. If I go to File>Export, I can. However, as the Export persona seems to retain that data, AND I could technically get it to export more than one size per slice, I’d like to see custom dimensions in the export options in the Export Persona too, please.
  7. I've got another request: Please implement a function to print the keyboard shortcuts. That's especially useful for people who like to customize their keyboard shortcuts. I know I can always look them up in the menu but if we had a possibility to print a list we could simply put the printed list somewhere, e.g. on the wall behind the monitor. That's far more intuitive than having to look the shortcuts up every time we don't remember a specific one. Another solution would be to store the keyboard shortcuts as plain text file, this way we could simply open the file in any text editor and print the list.
  8. Is there a way to create a custom brush that mimics the symbol brush in Illustrator? For instance, if I wanted to create rows of lines, is there a way to easily brush these pre-created lines as a texture?
  9. With the amount of awesome brushes being created for the community, it is becoming clear that the need to organize and separate out favourite brushes is the logical next step. Not sure how best to do this, and maybe just concentrating on the brushes panel for now, as opposed to an "app wide" solution might be the way to go. A simple "save as favourite" system would be a good start, eventually with the ability to move, group and reorganize in one panel or even multiple panels or panel sub structure for various workflows - texturing, blocking, detailing, dots etc....?
  10. I recently downloaded an .abr brush pack created by Andrea Koroveshi (http://andikoroveshi.blogspot.al/). However, I do not use PS (I don't want to sell my soul when there are good, and potentially better options, such as Affinity Photo & Designer). Based on my limited understanding, PS brushes imported into AP do not fully transfer textures. Rather, you only get the brush "tip" or "nozzle." I was curious as to whether anyone has a work-around for this issue. I have pretty much all the AP & AD brushes created by Paolo Limoncelli (which are excellent, btw), but I really want to make use of the many wonderful brushes available from other sources (such as Andrea Koroveshi & Kyle's Brushes). I've discovered that the PS brushes I import act more like "stamps" as opposed to brushes. While I'm sure tinkering with the settings will help- I'm not sure where to really begin, so any advice I can get would be great. Thanks!
  11. Hello, I'm a new Affinity user, i've problem with resize a new document. once i choose the Type and Page Preset custom selected. but i try to put the customised page size into the dimensions it just won't change change. also tried to change the size from Document Setup > dimensions > Rescale. same problem, i hope you guys have some solution or if there's some other way please guide me. Thanks
  12. I would like to curve my font around clip art or pictures when making certain designs for logos and T-shirts, but I can't find where or how to do this. Please tell me it is possible and tell me what I am missing and how to do it. I am looking to curve up, curve down, bridge up and bridge down and circular Thank you, Scott
  13. Now, I seem to remember someone posting about this, so maybe its already here. But I was just using the shape tool, and I noticed that there isn't a custom shape option? I think this needs to be here! Thanks for your time!
  14. The ability to assign new and change existing keyboard shortcuts like in Photoshop.
  15. It would be awesome if we could: - Make polar, circular grids. - Create grids that can be imported and resized for reuse in projects such as a golden rectangle grid. - Allow grids and guides to be set in their own layers so that multiple grids and guides can be stacked on top of one another so that modular grids can be created. - Change the color of grids and guide lines. - Set where grid gutters should fall, left, right, or both sides of columns, above, below or both sides of rows. - Create grids out of shapes, rectangle shape can be created and turned into a grid (with the same functionality as global grids) allowing us to be truly creative with the grids we create. - Typographic grids would be awesome as well, baseline for setting type on.
  16. I'd like the ability to remove tools from the standard palette (in both Photo and Designer), especially subset items. There are so many tools that I don't use that I'd like to remove them, and I'd like the ability to pull commonly used subset items (like Rectangle, Ellipse, etc. from the Shapes tool) and place them on the "main" level. I'm hoping removing unused tools would also remove them from the keyboard shortcuts/toggles (in Photo, for example, "B" cycles between four different tools, two of which I don't use).
  17. Greetings all, Are there any rules, or guidelines, for creating the artwork used to create custom, textured brushes in Affinity Designer? I've been using 300 dpi PNGs, RGB, white stroke against black background. Regards, jB
  18. Hi everyone, Not really an Affinity resource but more a resource made in Affinity :) For those who like to have custom folders I think this can be usefull. Full editable file with some icons and text examples. Hope you like it. MacOSX Folders.afdesign
  19. I think it'd be great to be able to define custom global and/or per-document grids. I was recently in Inkscape, and being able to have custom grid increments/colors/types is a pretty nice feature. Thinking these might be some nice grid settings (global and/or per-document): - X&Y coord. minor grid-line increments (also choose units in px, pt, in, etc.) - X&Y coord. major grid-line increments (also choose units in px, pt, in, etc.) - minor grid-line color - major grid-line color - grid type (line, dot) Thanks!
  20. For absolutely everything. And the ability to save them to a file, so can then import them into another machine. kthnxbye
  21. Did some basic editing with a DNG file, cropped and hit enter, and the levels went out of whack. There was no undo so I closed without saving. At least the edits didn't lock in. I had the option to not save changes when closing. Thanks for this alternative. I'm with you 100%. I've only tried Affinity Photo Beta this once and look forward to spending time with it at a later date. Waiting for Windows 7 version...let's go! Nikon D3s DNG file exported from LR Edited with Affinity in ProPhoto-16 bit MBP, Retina 15.4", 2.2 GHz, 7i Graphics-Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB Yosemite 10.10.2
  22. I see no way to create custom frame sizes (aspect ratios). I work with graphics mostly for video/broadcast/film, and having preset sizes would be vitally important. As of now, there is no way for me to get this, as far as I am able to see.
