After opening Designer and using it for like 10 seconds or so, it simply closes. No error, nothing. This happens not every time but most of the time. I can't seem to find a solution or what is causing the issue. But this issue started appearing after the latest update. Since there is no tracing option for Affinity Designer yet, I usually use the vector brush tool to trace the outline of a drawing to get the shape. But I don't usually get this accomplished in one continuous line. Therefore, I have to use the node selection tool (white arrow) to join the pathway segments together. As I was attempting to do so on my iPad Pro, my vector pathway would start accumulating quite a bit of nodes. Eventually, it would no longer allow me to join another curve pathway without crashing. When I reopen the file, it was a version of the file that was at least 2 saves back from my recent saved version. However, when I open the file and try the same process on the macOS version, everything works fine. I am able to join more curves and save the file as expected. I can only assume this is either a bug with iOS 14 and Affinity Designer or it is a deliberate hampering of the computing power of the iPad Pro by Affinity. Has any one else experienced this issue? I am running the latest version of iPadOS 14.0.1 and the latest version of Affinity Designer on both operating systems. -
Hi, Suddenly my Affinity Photo app on my iPad Pro 11” has started to crash a lot when I try to develop RAW files from my Sony a6600. I have tried rebooting the iPad, I have tried to delete the app and reinstall it, I have lots of memory left (170+ GB) and no other app than maybe the photo gallery open at the same time, but it makes no difference if it’s open or not. If I’m lucky I can edit one photo and manage to save that, but then after that it becomes dreadful to save changes, because it takes several attempts before it will save another photo. Please see attached video of how it goes. Are there other people with same issues? And please, Serif devolpers, can you please fix it?? I had just become very fond of this photo editing tool, but at this point, I don’t want to use it anymore. Best regards, Betina FullSizeRender.mov -
Affinity Designer for iPad is crashing constantly when I use the vector brush. This only happens when I set the brush to 'Pressure' in the controller. I can use the pencil tool without the controller set to 'None' and have no problems. When using the vector brush with the 'Pressure' setting, it works for a minute or so, then the app freezes, crashes and my work is unsaved. I'm working on the latest version of Affinity Designer for iPad and on first gen iPad Pro with 256GB Storage (35GB free). -

Hi Version 1.8 has been really unstable for me. I installed it a few days ago and it keeps crashing. Its hard to say extactly when, sometimes when i move something, sometimes when i paste a picture. Sometimes its just not accepting any inputs for a while, but doesnt crash. It also didn't seem to autosave, or at least it never gave me the option to restore the document, when i reopened the program. Thats not the big deal, i just save before i do really anything, but the whole thing is still pretty annoying to deal with, constantly reopening the software and all the documents that where open. I tried to go back to 1.73, but when i opened the document it said changes with a newer version were made and it can't open the thing. Does anyone else experience the same thing? Is this a general problem with 1.8 or is it just me? I wasn't sure if i should post this here or in bug report. Felix -
While I am trying to develop canon cr2 and fuji raf files on my ipad air 3 it crashes and all the work I have done is gone. What can I do? After moving my workflow to the iPad affinity photo and desiner looked professional to me. And now this is happening after paying a good ammount of money. Pathetic. Please now can you help me with this? -
Steps: Open Designer, load a project, begin working, randomly but regularly crashes to desktop with no message or dialogue. Sometimes it will stay open for over a half an hour, most times it will crash within a few minutes. I can't work with this program as it is, so I'd like to solve this. If there is any other information that would be valuable please let me know. Find attached the dump files as well as dxdiag for system info. Hello, I am going to join the chorus of posters who are having continual Photo crashing issues. My crashes happen when I try to paste a masked layer from another Photo file. I have sent the crash reports, as well. I am guessing there will be a update soon since a number of people are experiencing such a variety of crashing issues that seem to be focused on Catalina. My affinity designer keep lagging once I draw a fair amount of art on my canvas and after a while it crashes its so annoying and never did this till yesterday pleeeaasssseee HELP!! I need to get my art done I've tried all I can. restarted my whole computer shut it down all. I have an MacOS... Processor - 3.4 GHz intel Core i5, Memory - 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (I've deleted several things from my Mac and have lots of space for more) Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2 GB. Please get back to me! -
I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but since the last update both Photo and Affinity have been crashing. I have never had any issue before, but now I dread the "not responding" half way through something. I have sparked it up again this morning and 5 minutes later it is "not responding". I can't wait for the next update because I fear for my sanity. Would it cause a problem with the program if I uploaded a previous version? Many thanks -
My program keeps locking up and requires closing using windows task manager resulting in lost changes. This has now happened on several occasions with different files. I click on soft proof from the adj. section, the selected variants are displayed but no adjuster box. As soon as I click again on this the program locks with no response from anything on screen. Update:- I uninstalled and re-installed the program and it now appears to work. I'll keep you all up to date.

Hi, new here, just registered to report this same problem. It might be different, but OP doesn’t respond anymore anyway, so I’m taking over with my details: iPad Air 3, iPadOS, all other apps closed When editing RAW in the development persona, it takes a while and crashes at some point. Just closes and all edits are gone. It happened with 2 different files from Canon EOS 1300D. One takes a bit longer though until it crashes. Crashed reliably 5 times, I guess there’s a bug. Swap before / after seems to toggle the crash earlier (no confirming test series though)

Every time I’m working on a picture editing after and while retouching it crashes and I got to start all over again and it’s frustrating please fix

Affinity P and D both keep lagging, locking up, and crashing. Everything has been working flawlessly and the past week or two I’ve been working on the same photo manipulation and can’t get it done. The last update seems to have completely made my software unusable. Very frustrated, as are many other iPad Pro users 2017 & 2018 versions; mostly 2018. Many others are having the same issues with this iPad Pro 3rd gen. I’ve tried hard reset several times, closing-shut down-and still crashing when making my selection of the photo I want to change. I’ve tried several other files and it’s happening on all of them. can you please put out an update to fix this issue?

Doing a series of technical drawings – not complicated. Copying a few lines with arrowheads (or even just 1) into a document created in a pre-arrowhead Designer version, results in the spinning beachball of death. Is there a workaround with older documents to avoid this issue? (I have tried some of the old favourites – like saving as without success). Cheers Friatec Tee T EF Blu-ill.afdesign

Publisher has been stable since installed latest version - but this last few days is crashing every 30 secs. The only difference over the last few days is that I have upgraded to Norton 360! The crashing occurs while editing an existing file, that was stable before the Norton cam on the scene. My system is Windows 10 latest version, with 12GB of memory.

Hi Everyone, I am using affinity 1.7.1.404 I think that's the latest update right? I haven't used affinity for a while and had to re-install windows on my pc as it all crashed and died on me so fresh new install. I opened it and all was going well, then after adding a couple of brushes it started to crash every time I tried to add a brush set or delete one. I have reset the brushes, still the same, when I import brushes or try to delete them affinity crashes and when I open it back up they are installed or deleted but seeing as I have a ton of brushes I want to install this is going to take forever this way and surely it shouldn't be happening this way? I have tried the duplicating of the raster_brushes.propcol that I saw on another post but still no luck. I have un-installed and re-installed to no avail? Also weird, the re-install didn't ask me to activate with my serial number? I am on windows 10 (latest update available to me) 64-bit. i7 core, 16gb Ram, 3.4ghz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB I don't suppose anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks! Billie -
Countless times I receive errors that and the app crashes when I save my work. Also, when I export my work as a different file type or try to load a file already saved I receive an error that the file is lost and needs to be recovered. Please fix this. It is unspeakably annoying and makes me want a refund and to never use the product again. -
Hi! I buy the Affinity Publisher and the past days I started to make the layout of a book. Today I try open the files (I saved three different files) and all them crashed! When I open any of the files the software simply closes. Please, can you help me ? Thank you Fran -

Hitting the text styles tab causes the program to crash. Every. Time. It is making Publisher almost unusable. Please fix soon. I have Publisher 1.7.1 running mac osx high sierra 10.13.6.

Hi! I have created a somewhat large file in publisher, 28 pages or so. Now every time I open it in publisher it will be open for about 15 minutes then crash. I updated my computer to see if that was the problem and it keeps crashing. If anyone has any tips to fix this that would be amazing. If not Affinity will you please fix this bug! Thanks -
Since the update to 1.7, it’s been crashing all the time. With the update today ( to 1.7.1) I can’t even open the app! iPad Pro 12.9, 2nd generation 256GB, 222 GB available Apple Software version 12.3.1 please help

All of a sudden...until today never had a problem, designer keeps crashing. Every time I use color picker the whole program crashes. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance for help/advice you may have! B
