Hey! I am a really new user to affnity! I absolutely love playing around with Affinity Designer and I have no regrets what-so ever about purchasing this software, however, my computer/computer screen crashes so often while using affinity designer, and even though it makes me continue where I left my creation at, it’s really annoying having to turn off the laptop and turning it on again every time... Photos has a new habit of crashing when I’m trying to load RAW files. Using an iPad Pro and importing from a sony a6500. At first the RAW (not even raw+JPEG files) are loading as PNGs in the regular persona. Now when I try loading the same file it crashes. Any ideas? -
My version Affinity Beta for iPad 1.6.7.67 constantly crashes when using the drag n drop feature. I've tried to drag n drop 100+ images to 30 images with the same result. Crash crash crash. I'm running iOS 11.3 beta 7 on 2nd gen iPad pro 12.9. I have even tried to do a hard reset with the same results. Also the implanting brush is exterior laggy. -
After applying constraints to the grouped object, it totally frozen and can never be opened again. The grouped object contains with only a curve object masked by another curve object. before the crash: crash test.1.6.399.afdesign after the crash crash test.1.6.99.bk.afdesign

Hope somebody has a solution. if I try to open the menu item "Preferences" AP is crashing. Everytime it happens. Have AP via the Apple store. Latest update is november 2nd 2017 Anybody who has same problem. Someone a solution??? Kindest regards, jefvandejumenas -
I am using Affitnity Photo on a 10.5 inch iPad Pro, iOS 11.2.1 and what I think is the latest version of Affinity Photo. Whe I try to use the perspective filter, Photo crashes. -
Hello forum, I'm running AP 1.6.6 from the App Store on a MPB with Mac OS X 10.13.3. I have the Google Nik Collection installed on my machine and enabled it as a plugin for AP. Other image editors on my machine are Photoshop CS 6 and Graphic Converter 10. This setup worked fine for more than a year until today when I tried to open Settings -> Photoshop Plugins under AP settings panel. AP crashed immediately and does so again and again whenever I try to access the settings panel. So far I have done the following steps to solve the problem: uninstall AP and reinstall from the Appstore -> try to access AP settings -> crash uninstall Google Nik collection -> try to access AP settings -> crash reinstall Nik collection -> try to access AP settings -> crash This means, as for the moment, I can't access the settings panel without AP crashing no way what I do. Apart from this the app is working fine. Any ideas? Your help is very much appreciated! UPDATE: I've also moved com.seriflabs.affinityphoto.plist out of the library/preferences folder to no avail :-( -

It is not possible to add a gradient fill to document palette as global colour. When adding as standard colour and then trying "make global", AD crashes instantly. -
Hi, I have a user that is using your hard and software for Affinity and equinox 2.0. It was installed on PC1 for years and worked without any problem, suddenly it stops working. I tried to re-install the software from the CD-rom gotten at purchase, everything is fine until i try to open the .exe file and it instantly crashes(xxmodulesuite has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution) the computer has all the requirements thats asked for, I am running windows 7 with all the latest windows updates. I installed it on a similiar specs machine with Windows 7 and it works without a problem. Could this be a driver issue? I have not yet checked that all the drivers are up to date. Best regards -
I'm using the latest versions of AP (1.6.1.93) and Neat Image plug-in (8.3.1.0). They used to work fine together, but both have recently been updated, and I don't know whether I've used the Neat Image plug-in since the updates. AP takes an exception and crashes after the plug-in call regardless whether I'm working on .tif, .psd, or .afphoto files. Other plug-ins seem to be fine (NIK collection and PortraitPro). A week or so ago, after a crash, the Crash Reporter window came up and I filled in the info but haven't heard anything about it. I expected to see some posts here about it but don't find anything; am I the only one? I'm using Windows 8.1 64-bit and the 64-bit version of Neat Image. -
All, While using Selections the I run into multiple problems which occur after initial selection. 1. Trying to drag around the canvas to refine the selection by using the any of the Selections tools and the "marching ants line" disappears and the program will either crash or act like no selection was made. Sometimes panning around the canvas will bring things back but it is hit-or-miss. 2. After refining selection to mask, New Layer with mask or New Layer the a haze appears on the mask layer. This looks like a blur has been applied with streaks all over the canvas. 3.Cannot make selection without first creating a New Pixel Later. The Selections acts as if there is no information to select until the pixel layer is created and then the layer to make selections out of is chosen. Again another hit-or-miss issue. 4. After trying to add an adjustment layer to a mask, Photo will crash and when I re-open the program the adjustment has been applied in a checker board pattern on the mask and I am unable to undo without again crashing. At this point I have to start the workflow over for any meaningful recovery. The Selections problems make this program so unstable that I cannot use it for any work on the go. I do use the desktop version on MacOS but the point of having it on my iPad is to have the flexibility to create anywhere. -
The new 1.6 upgrade crashed whilst trying to save to a jpeg also when trying to tone map an HDR image.

I have 100% replicable crash 1. make a new file. 2. create rectangle, put bitmap in it. 3. make symbol from it. 4. in artboards/layer edit open symbol (using arrow on left side of it), open rectangle and click on arrow next to image. in my case - 100% crash. file attached CrashTest_16072_symbol.afdesign -

Reproducable crash the second time you try to export a document. Works fine for the first time, crashes the second time when you select the menu "export". After restart same behaviour ... Cheers, Timo

Hello, Starting to make a book cover on AFD 1.6.84 1) I just noticed frequent crashing upon inserting layered PSDs - just by drag-and-dropping them from another folder. Is it because /uhhh/ from Adobe or some known development issue or should I just use PNGs instead? 2) Both in AFD 1.5 and 1.6beta/1.6.84/ I noticed some silhouette/slight envelope around inserted PSD files, they come with transparency. Again-is it by /arrrgh../ Adobe or should I just use PNGs instead? UPDATE: not anymore after file saved&reopened Cheers,

Hello, i have experienced strange behaviour. I´ve been working on my website design and i inset some layers into another layer (to use constrains). This main layer i cut and paste again and Designer crashed. Worst issue is i am not able to open that file again. Looks like its corrupted. I tried .82 and .81 as well. .82 crash immediately and version .81 is trying something and then error appears (app stop working). Is there a way to try if the file is completely lost? I can send it to you (via email) for further problem diagnosis if you want. Thx Tomas

Hi, I tried to write a text on a road. To do this I need a perspective correction, which I tried to do with the perspective live filter. But this cases a crash, every time I use this live filter. See screenshot attached to this post. I also attached the Affinity Photo file before configuring the live filter: road-220058.afphoto

I'm working with a relatively large (1.5 GB) file with multiple art boards and embedded PDF's. AD crashes every time I try to edit one of the embedded files. I've previously tried resetting all AD settings at startup, and just downloaded Beta 1.5 in the hopes that it would fix the problem, but it still happens every time I either hit 'edit document' or double click the embedded doc. I'm currently getting around this by reinserting all the documents I originally embedded as layers, but it's very time consuming. Any help or tips would be appreciated - thanks! -
Hi everyone, just a quick question.. i had a crash using the live adjustment layer "perspective", and after reopening affinity Photo, the program supposed to use (dont know the exact name) well the "Autobackup" the last version... is there some sort of autobackup.... autosave ? when its in there, can i configure the path and the time how often to save it ? thanks, Tom -
Hello, I've just installed the latest Beta for Windows 1.6.0.82. It installed smoothly but, like the previous Beta installation, did not require my entering my purchased product key. However, having crashed on first use adjusting curves in Develop persona, I restarted the Beta and received 'Invalid Product Key!' banner. This precludes access to Help menu, so I'm unable to enter a product key. Anyone else? Any suggestions? Thanks -
Hi - my name is Mark and I'm a photo-holic. It's been 24 hours since I last held a camera... Hi Mark ! Im just getting started with v1.6.3 on my iPad Pro 12.9" w. 256Gb storage, and I am noticing an odd behaviour when I attempt to open a file which has been imported from Apple Photos as CR2, developed, and then lightly edited, I can export to a JPG and share the photo. this sharing could be 1) back to the Photos app, or shared to my WD NAS device, or shared via Social media. I then Cancel out of the Export pane, and continue about my daily life. But the NEXTtime I try to open the image, the app crashes. When I double-click the home button the screen shows the Export pane, then launches the usual Affinity Photo startup graphic. it is not isolated to just one image. I have created a couple of project folders and the behaviour seems to be associated with the last photo I edited. the photo is properly exported - it shows up in the Photos app as a JPG, or on the NAS device. The original CR2 is intact in the Photos app. so I think this is unexpected behaviour. i look forward to your continued support with my "Addiction" ! Mark
