  1. I often want to compare two different versions of a shape in two layers. Is there a way to do that with one keyboard shortcut without having to perform three actions (hide layer => show other layer => press spacebare to hide bounding boxes)? -thx Dave
  2. A problem I run into every time I make the simplest poster.... I come up with a dozen fonts I like and I want to quickly compare them in my design and switch back and forth. How do I do this?? I always end up writing a phrase out on a new doc and setting all the different fonts to compare. Ridiculous. Is there a way to make a font set in Affinity so I can quickly compare??
  3. Hi to all, Considering the crickets I heard with this post on the Affinity on Desktop Questions forum, I'm assuming that the following is not currently possible, and therefore posting here as a request: When editing photos, I will often put two different ideas on two different layers. Let's say "A" is a curves layer where I've put a lot of contrast and "B" a curves layer where I've put only a little contrast. I want to look at one, then the other, to see which idea I like best. As it stands now, the only thing that I seem to be able to do is to uncheck A to see what B looks like; then uncheck B and check A to see what A looks like; then uncheck A and recheck B to see what B looks like again; ... ad nauseam. That's long and especially any true "toggling effect" (a rapid back and forth between the adjusted images) is lost, because you're obliged to either go briefly completely back to the unadjusted background layer (a third "version" thus), or have both of the adjustment layers briefly activated (a fourth "version" thus). 😖 What I'm requesting is some way to toggle between a series of layers or groups of layers. I used two layers for the example above, but as a feature, one should be able to toggle through any number of layers or groups of layers. I would imagine such a feature would start with selecting the concerned layers. So, using the example above, I would select the layers A and B then: [Keystroke and/or Click] gives: A checked, B unchecked [Keystroke and/or Click] gives: A unchecked, B checked etc. etc. Just to hammer in the idea, let's imaging a third layer, "C": Select the three layers: [Keystroke and/or Click] gives: A checked, B unchecked, C unchecked [Keystroke and/or Click] gives: A unchecked, B checked, C unchecked [Keystroke and/or Click] gives: A unchecked, B unchecked, C checked etc. etc. I seem to remember such a feature being available in another image editing program, but can't remember which one (Gimp??). I hope that others will sound in and thanks to the Affinity team for all you do!
  4. It would be good to be able to compare at least two original, uncorrected, images in the photo library so that, if they are similar, it is easier to decide which to work on.
  5. Does anyone here have a link to or access to a feature comparison chart for Affinity Photo and Adobe Photoshop? I'm asking for a friend — really. My friend is considering either updating to a more recent version of Photoshop CC or else moving over to Affinity Photo. My talking about software is great, but I would also like to show him some resources other than my own enthusiasm. Thanks in advance.
  6. I want to design a sponsorship document (3-4 pages), and I know that Affinity is coming out with a desktop publishing application, but I will also need to be able to create covers with layers of assembled images/maybe some clip art. What would be the better application to accomplish what I want to do? Can Designer handle layers of imported images and alter them, and can Photo create shapes and handle more than touching up existing photos? Thanks.
  7. Hello, Sry, i agree i'm a bit LAZY and not go thru thoroughly through the ocean of the forum, but still searching in a zippy i didn't found my answers, hence writing this ticket. 1. if Team-A wanna fix some error in their Adobe creation by forwarding the project to Team-B with all legal acceptance (via their Affinity product), do team-B need to start over from "Zero" as no support for Adobe's working file extensions? 2. Any Error Fixing/Analysing tools to compete with Adobe's PREFLIGHT, COMPARE(Check out 4th compare tool of Power Styles from Blatner for eg.), Etc. 3. Any Support for third party XML(obviously with DTD), Python, XSLT, Java Scripts. i know i shd. not ask for the product still not in market(ie.. Publisher), but 1st the feature is helpful in all 3-in-1 Package UNITs, & 2nd.ly it really matters. Sry. for the casual english. Thank You, Anant Singh(anant.anant@gmail.com) End Note : Watching Tutorials, but Subtitles as well as an e-book as ref. Requested.
  8. Greetings, I am researching my software choices. Experiences are with Photoshop CS3. I have tried the Lightroom/PS 7 day trial. Someone from another forum recommended Affinity Photo. I am the try before you buy kind of person so a Windows Demo would be nice. But I realized it is not available. I have watched some Affinity Tutorial Video's on Youtube and so far it looks pretty straight forward to learn. I like the Idea of purchasing. I am not keen on giving Adobe a monthly fee to rent their software. Plus after using Lightroom to work with some of my photographs I realized that if in the future I decided that I did not want to use Lightroom that most of my changes might be stuck in there and not able to export the edited images. So I am looking in another direction. I was wondering if any of you all had experience with Photoshop and now are using Affinity Photo and what insights can you offer. One of the things I have noticed is that there seems to be a problem with Affinity Photo and Google Nik Collection. Is this true? Thanks and I will be around. Ron
  9. Is it really so much better than DrawPlus? Of course this is how it is advertised, but before I buy, I would like to know. I'm using DrawPlus and I like it, but to be honest, I never felt it was serving me completely, so I see a chance here. Thanks for any feedback.
  10. Hello. I love Affinity Photo. I was happy to move from Adobe PhotoShop to Affinity Photo when I first discovered it. That said, there are a number of features that were very useful to me in Adobe PhotoShop that appear to be missing from AP. If some of the following features are in fact missing, is somebody able to tell me when/if they will be included? Full-screen preview shortcut Preview the whole document in full-screen without the borders of the UI with a shortcut command. Just the one shortcut command - not a series of shortcuts. Also, I don't wish to use the 'toggle full screen' option as the transition needs to be instantaneous. Compare to the original photo (prior to modification) shortcut Sometimes it is very useful to see how far you've come - to check how the original looked, with one shortcut. On/off preview button when making adjustments/adding filters Currently, mirror view and split view exist as ways to compare the modification to the original. But why not a simple on/off button? I would prefer that to the existing options. Export image preview quality During the export stage as you are deciding how to compress your image, it would be beneficial to have a preview showing what the image will look like under those compression settings. It would better allow to manage how to export an image in reduced file size but maintain good quality. Edit image EXIF data When uploading an image to the Internet, I want to first be able to strip private information such as GPS coordinates. Apart from what, I would to append additional information to an image in the EXIF information. Merge colour tones from another image. I remember PhotoShop had a feature that allowed you to adjust the colour of an image based upon the palette of another image. This was very useful if you had one image where the colours were all wrong in a collection where the colours were fine. So you could tell the editor to take the yellow from the better image and tell the worse photo "that's what yellow is meant to look like", and it would correct the whole photo based upon that adjustment. Merge exposure from another image Same principal as above. You tell the editor that you want the exposure levels of one image to translate to another image.
