  1. Any body found a better equivalent to using the beaker tool to pick my colors, like a color pallet tool. Iv had affinity photo for about 4 months and until a couple of weeks ago I didn't think about it but now it sounds like a smart idea. Please help as in a guide... iv checked the new board and I didn't find any help there.
  2. Is there a way to change the Workspace color profile to something other than the offensive dark grey it defaults too? I looked through all the menu options and didn't see anything. I'm hoping I missed it.
  3. Hi Everyone, I have created a color palette based on Google's material design (https://material.io/guidelines/style/color.html). Attaching the palette file for AD. Hope it would help. Regards, Anupam Bordoloi Material Design Palette.afpalette
  4. It would be cool to have certain user settings (mainly custom color palettes & swatches) sync between the entire Affinity suite once released. It would save me hours in duplicating colors in each application ;)
  5. In Illustrator it's quick and easy to sample a colour and apply it to a new shape - using the colour picker you can select a colour, and then use alt+click to apply it. I haven't been able to replicate this functionality in Affinity Designer - though please let me know if I've missed something! If it doesn't exist, I'd love to see this functionality since it's a real time saver.
  6. Here is the final image that I was having the crashing issue with a couple days ago. 100% iPad Pro with Affinity Photo. Hope ya like.
  7. It would be great if we can get the HEX input/listing on all of the color sliders. I know it shows up on the RGB Hex setting but if I'm working in one of the other slider color spaces I need to constantly switch back to the RGB Hex to read a HEX value. It would be a great time saver. We could also have an option to have it appear or not appear on each of the color sliders in case there are people who do not need it to be shown. Cheers!
  8. Hello, im sorry for my dummy english but i cant find a good forum in german. :-( can someone help me, to make a color (graphic) , destroyed like this: https://www.shutterstock.com/de/image-vector/trust-rubber-stamp-vector-isolated-on-523887091?src=oOU2N5Vs507Bs5MTSc4n_Q-1-22 thank you very much!
  9. This is so frustrating. When I create a new document, AD insists on managing my colors. Why? Why, why, why?! My monitor is properly calibrated and the system (Windows 10) driver manages the colors. But AD thinks I want it to manage the colors, too. So, after carefully choosing the right look, and exporting the image to SVG or other format, the result looks disastrous. Why is AD doing this? And how do I turn it off? There seems to be no way to turn it off. There is a myriad of options for a profile, but there is no do nothing option.
  10. Dear Affinity-Community, I hope you can help me in this case ! I created a flyer using Affinity Designer. Colors are CMYK (ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)). For this flyer I have approx. 50 photos of leather watch straps, where the color is one of the most important things. I edited these photos in Photoshop CC and they really looked fine in PS CC (also CMYK !). The colors are very rich and deep if you are looking at the photos in Photoshop CC. Then I exported the photos from Photoshop and saved them as PNG (CMYK / ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)). Also the image looked fine when I opened it at the preview on the iMac. But as soon as I import this image to Affinity Designer, the colors are very very pale ! I hope you can help me get this problem under control. Thank you in advance ! Best regards Lucas
  11. Hey everyone i have found there is a great stand alone app on the web that's can be helpful to all designers and photo designer. it's called ColorWell. it's works very well and help generate palettes of color for a project on the go like the Adobe product doest but the must is that this software works offline. it's may help for demanding peoples when you can't results you want with the functionality already implemented in Affinity Designer. i myself work with both solution they help balance and do a better job of color choosing. Though this may help someone out there
  12. When will real color blending is coming in ipad version . Because that mixer brush doesn't do it. It's just smudges the Colors not blending them like photoshop.please work on this feature
  13. EDIT: There is an apparently related issue with RAW files. --------------------------------------------------------------- Original clueless question Is this a setting? a bug? I am baffled. But here is the problem: in the photo below you see the Windows 10 Explorer's preview of a photos I took. I looks like the photo in my camera, and like the lighting when I took it. it also looks like that in every editor I have including photoshop. The problem is when I open it in affinity. I ahve no Idea where to go with this. How could I possible color correct it? What is this that I am looking at?
  14. Hi guys, For example I have a green circle, that will act as a clipping container. I add 3 other object inside this green circle, with clipping. How can I change the green circle's color without unclipping the other objects? I tried, but I can't seem to be able to. Thank you
  15. We have HSL right now but it does not allow to create a set of shades for the base color.
  16. Currently in Designer it's really annoying on my eyes when I'm using artboards, and the viewport frame turns from a nice dark grey to a (comparatively) glaring white. My eyes might be a bit more sensitive than usual or whatever, but I find myself being distracted by the inconsistent and glaring viewport colour. It would be really useful if we could customise the background colour a bit - either from a few preset options or just using the colour selection tools. I don't want to just use a rectangle is because it isn't infinite so when I zoom out (which I do often) I'd still get the white colour, and it doesn't save for new documents, so I'd need to make the rectangle all over again. It also covers the background of the empty areas in each artboard. Thanks
  17. Hi! I am slowly going from Adobe and Sketch over to Affinity, but have some "hiccups" in features. Some of the features I wish for. 1. RGBa 2. Material design assets 3. padding functions on buttons, so that buttons change size based on the text. 4. A function to add "Symbols" in the Assets panel so that if I change one symbol, they all change. 5. Google Material design color swatches. Someone made this 6. Make assets connect to the Affinity account, so when I use a different computer, all my assets will be there. 7. add new Page presets in the "new document" settings. 8. Flowchart 9. Plugin support 10. export to CSS 11. export to XML 12. copy SVG code 13. Pages 14. Shadow options like they have in the sketch app. BTW! I am now only working on AD and AP! love how my workflow has changed and how much more I get done.
  18. Hello! As a Fine Art Printmaker who uses Computer Design tools to create prints for Screen Printing, Lithography, and Intaglio, CNC woodcut, it would be amazing if I could separate colors and control half tones size shape (line, dot, etc) and color. I imagine being able to work in CMYK layers and being able to apply color halftones to shapes based on percentages, or change the size and shape of the individual color channel half toning. It could be applied in any document setup really RGB document with a simulated color / spot process: Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Green, Turquoise, Grey and control the halftone percentage, size and shape. grey scale: black, 25% grey, 15% transparent white LAB would be fun, you could control the lightness darkness of the halftones maybe have an option to constrain the gamut inside of lab to a specific set of colors like CMYK but still have lightness control. In my imagination the possibilities are endless for options like this. "MOONSHOT" : to have RIP like printing control inside this program, where I wouldn't have to worry about the printer I am on to get circular halftones (this might be next to impossible but I am ignorant when it comes to the programming side of hardware interactions) this would be just insane and might require a new type of universal file format I have no idea but it's something I dream about, being able to go to Kinko's or some other local digital print shop and be able to print out my files without having to worry about the print shop getting the settings right in their computers and on their printers, the employees being inept, or any other stupid thing that happens because you don't have enough money to buy the hardware that you need. and finally "MOONSHOT": A new type of color selection palette based off of a Warm/Cool, light/dark, transparent/opaque warm adds red cool adds blue lightness adds white darkness adds black transparent/opaque self explanatory but the twist is you pick initial colors as a base and those colors become the colors you base rest of the interactions between the colors on like paint For example: Here is a shorthand RGB two way conversion to Paint/Ink color palette equivalent Red (Pantone Uncoated 032) Yellow (Pantone Uncoated 123) Blue (Pantone Uncoated 300) Purple (Pantone Purple) Green (Pantone Uncoated 354) Turquoise (Pantone Uncoated 312) Grey (Pantone Cool Grey 8) 100% opacity White 15% opacity White mixed or printers black (R 54, G 54, B 57) Black now imagine you have picked these colors as your initial palette and have set them inside of a grid each color has the same basic controls warm/cool: add red/add blue light/dark: add white/add printers black transparent/opaque: increase decrease transparency/opacity Now for example you activate the red, white, and yellow channels you now adjust warm/cool light/dark transparent/opaque sliders around to just work within the constraints of those colors selected from you base palette this gives you a sub palette of yellows oranges and reds based of your real world/RGB equivalents this would work for CMYK as well This would be a great tool to have I think Thank you for reading and for your consideration Nathan Henry
  19. Hello! A picture probably says more than thousand words. Please have a look at the attached image. I'm trying to recreate this "polygon" look. I know how to create a gradient over several objects by selecting them at the same time. Is it possible to add these artifical "steps" over the gradient's colors? Similar to the orange-to-red gradient in the attached image. Or is it all done manually? If you know any other hints on how to create this or similar polygon looks, I'd be happy to know them as well!
  20. I am struggling to manage colour in my workflow from AD to a commercial printer. The commercial print service wants pdf/x-3 2002; I am hoping they can live with 2003 (since that is all that AD offers). More significantly, the AD export panel for pdf/x-3 is not providing me with the opportunity to set the ICC profile or rendering intent. In particular, the AD export panel for pdf/x-3 does not include sRGB or Adobe1998; it includes only the profiles for my own printer (and these are not useful). Furthermore, the ICC option starts off blank, but if I choose any of the profiles then I can't get it back to blank -- and, I have no idea what it means for export when it is blank. Whereas, the later pdf export options (e.g. 1.7) do provide many ICC profile options. None of these provides the ability to set rendering intent. By the way, I can see the difference between colour in pdf/x-3 vs pdf 1.7 (exporting x-3 with the ICC field in its initial blank state, and exporting 1.7 with sRBG) by viewing them in ColorSync Utility. The x-3 export is dull and dark, whereas 1.7 looks as it should. Thanks for any workarounds or advice. Martin Brooks
  21. Just released a second color palette with support for Affinity's .afpalette format. It's a set of bright, happy colors to lighten up any illustration or design. Get it at creativemarket
  22. I would like to change in the picture the color black to orange. I tried it with and without selecting everything, adding adjustment layers over the menu, the tool window, I tried the color replacement tool - but nothing worked as expected. I am sure that there is an easy way - but I am to stupid to find it. Any help is highly appreciated. project-management.afphoto
  23. Hello, When I go to copy and paste a component of one art board to another, the color hue often becomes tinted. It is driving me nuts! Can someone please tell me if there is a resolution to this? I don't know if I accidentally made an adjustment in my settings that may be causing this. Any help is much appreciated! To help illustrate what I mean, the first image is what I wanted to copy & paste. The second image displays how the image was pasted into the new artboard - tinted with a more transparent look. I did check and opacity for this layer is at 100%. THANK YOU!!!
  24. Greetings Affinity, I was wondering if it would be helpful to have a HEX field available in all color profile palettes/windows. Lately, I've been working in HSL, as I find it easier to target a particular color, and it would be nice to have the HEX code running alongside the sliders (like RGB Hex). Also, I've been using AD to comp web designs and I'm constantly bouncing between RGB Hex and HSL to input HEX colors from a pre-existing brand style guide. Just a thought. :-) Cheers! jB
  25. Hey guys, It would be great if we could have the HEX value input text on all color examples. For instance, when you create a shape, in the top bar properties panel you have the fill color and stroke color, and you have all sorts of color pickers (hue, rgb sliders, hsl color scheme, etc), but only the HEX SLIDERS picker contains the actual input field for the HEX code. It would be great if all these color pickers would contain the hex color code, in UI design this is used a lot Thank you for a great product I am very grateful.
