  1. Hi everyone I am newbie and I am struggling in a simple thing I could not change the color of an object any help
  2. I'm finding a strange situation in AD; I set a series of color using CMYK percentages. Using objects in multiple files, I notice that the CMYK values are changing. So I created a swatch set with the proper CMYK values. I used those swatches to fill objects... and again, the values are not staying the same. The new values result in a color that is very close to the original... and it looks like the hex# is staying the same... so perhaps it's prioritizing the hex# and changing the CMYK percentages to match the hex#? But the hex isn't what I input, and i'm concerned about what changes might be wrought in the print process (the cmyk percentages are based on process swatches).
  3. If me using CorelDraw, coloring Object is very easy use smart Fill or Live paint bucket in Illustrator. in Affinity Designe takes a lot of time for coloring NEED CLOSING NODE, i am work with Pen tool mode Line.
  4. Is there a way to create a global color after the fact...For example...I created a document with many items with the same color...Can I add the color as a global color, and apply a color change to the rest of the document?
  5. Hi there, first of all, congratullations for the app. Do you have plans to implement in curves, the option to see the image in background, of the histogram for every color chanel (I dont know i writing it right in english, see the attached image). I think that is imprescindible for a profesional retouching photo soft. Thanks.

  7. i keep having to go back and change my blacks back to pure black.....for some reason they keep changing to a faded out black
  8. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature, so apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum. When using the paint brush and selecting color (by holding a finger on the screen until the color picker wheel appears), the color sampling appears to be off center. It is selecting the color from the bottom of the color picker wheel rather than from the center. When choosing a color by selecting the color wheel palette eye dropper tool, the color picker wheel behaves as I would expect it to, as in the color sampled is in the center of where the wheel is positioned. ive attached some screen shots to demonstrate. IMG_0560 shows the image to be sampled (there is a small red dot to the left of the color wheel I am trying to sample). IMG_0563 shows the color wheel directly over the red dot when sampling color using the brush tool. There is no red sampled in the color wheel. IMG_0562 shows the color wheel positioned above the red dot when sampling the color using the brush tool. The bottom of the color wheel is touching the red dot and is sampling the color, but it's off center. IMG_0564 shows the color wheel directly over the red dot using the eye dropper tool in the color wheel palette. Here the color wheel sampler is behaving as I would expect because it is sampling the red that is centered directly beneath it. is this a bug or designed to be this way or maybe some setting I have wrong?
  9. Ok, figured out how to select an area with the tools available, however, the only adjustment that seems to work is the vibrance. Also when I'm done and deselect that area while selecting another area, the adjustments seem to affect the previous area even though thats been deselected. So basically, there are multiple areas that I need to make pop in this image, lettering and the graphic face on the wall. Suggestions? Please help, working on a clients project.
  10. So I have an image where I need to highlight, i.e., bring out the color detail while making that area pop. Basically I have an image that is yellow and blue with already a lot of blue and yellow in the image so if I crank up the yellow and blue it just increases that color globally. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
  11. Hello all, I've been having a bit of a problem exporting and managing colours recently whilst some vector work. It's not something that I have encountered before, but after alot of searching, I cannot find a solution that fixes my particular problem. The rendered colour is not representative of the colour that is chosen in the colour picker. Above is a screenshot of an example. using the tool 'Sip' I can see that the colour is being rendered differently to that which I picked. Below is a screenshot of the same scenario but this time in Sketch and notice that I do not have the same problem. My document and export color profiles are set to sRGB as this is the default for web browsers. Any help on the above will be greatly appreciated.
  12. Good morning! I have been an avid user of Affinity's Photo and hardly ever had to ask for help (I thought never but I found a question from 2015). A client asked me to take pictures before a greenscreen while I was on assignment. They had a very small green cloth and there was a mixture of sun and tungsten light. I did the best I could... Having no studio lighting I expected some color cast but it is far worse, probably because of the small screen/cloth so the group had to stand close to it Can anyone help me in regards to how to remove the green color cast from the models? Below I attached a screenshot of what it looks like. If you need more info etc, let me know. Thank you in advance! Dennis
  13. Hello This is my first post here. I just bought Affinity Photo for iPad and the first thing I tried to do I can't seem to do. I want to use a brush and select a color from the photo. I have the brush tool and see the color picker but cannot see a way of getting the color from the photo. Also I have no idea what the little circular tools are next to the color picker. Is there a manual? Cheers. Martin
  14. In help I found this: To convert an existing colour swatch into a global colour: In the Swatches panel, choose a Document palette from the pop-up menu. -click a displayed swatch and select Make Global. But I can't find this option anywhere. Is it implemented? Also is there a way to merge color paletes? Or import palete so it would instantly be made of global colors? Also when selecting color from PANTONE color paletes its instantly added to a document palette as global color with spot. Can users make paletes to work the same way or is it just hardcoded? ;P Also I have to say. Color paletes, global colors they work great even now, but they need a little polish in my opinion. They need a little more manipulation options. Should I add it to requests or meaby it's planned somewhere along the way? :)
  15. I am not sure what I have done, but colors are no longer displaying correctly. When I enter the hex code, the color should be correct. It is actually lighter than it should be. in addition, the color chooser is not displaying correctly, with the top half appearing to have a white gradient over it, This is the second time this has happened, so I am sure i am changing a setting somewhere, I just do not know what it is.
  16. I ran into something I haven't found an answer for yet. When I imported an image into Affinity Photo I noticed that the color changed slightly once the image was in the program. When I subsequently exported this image the color remained different from the color of the original image. Why does this happen? What can I do to keep these colors the same? Does it have something to do with the color profile settings? Thanks in advance for your help!
  17. Question on how to change the angle of the gradient that fills a stroke. Say I have a rectangle. I want to have a stroke that appears from the top left corner and then fades away diagonally toward the bottom right corner (an opacity gradient). When selecting stroke, you can choose a gradient fill but you can't affect the direction that fill occurs at. It just defaults to horizontal. When using the fill option (like when you are filling an entire shape) you can choose to have gradients occur at any angle over any distance by adjusting the slider, but this doesn't seem to be the case when you are using a gradient for a stroke. I can come up with other workarounds obviously by building two rectangles where the front only reveals the edges of the back rectangle and then using an opacity gradient on the back rectangle, but it seems like I'm just missing one button somewhere.
  18. I've noticed that the Color Picker Tool does not seem to impact other tools as i would expect, for example the Color Replacement Brush. Am i doing something wrong?
  19. I've already posted this in Questions & Feedback but since it doesn't seem to be implemented yet, I'm adding it as a request. For example, I have a square which only has a fill color (no stroke). If I click on another shape, let's say a circle and I'm changing it's stroke color, when I click back on the square, I would like the color panel to auto-select the fill attribute (since it's the only attribute the square has) instead of keeping the stroke attribute selected (from the previous change). My logic is that I would want to change it's color rather than add a stroke to it. This way would eliminate an unnecessary extra click and speed you up when you'd have to repeat the action several times.
  20. Hi, In my work I use a color checker ( grey18%) and I need to set the white balance through the color picker ( by selecting the color checker in the first image of the shooting). thanks!
  21. I made a set of gradients for Affinity Designer. My first attempt at AD gradient set! Tada! :D I originally created the set to be used at work (using Illustrator) and I made this to share with the nice folks here at Affinity Forum. Hope you guys find this useful. Thanks! - Maya MAYA-GRADIENT-VOL-1.zip
  22. Hi folks, I've notice that beside what the documentation says, Global Colors are not acting as global when used with gradients. Since a picture movie worth thousand of words, here is it: GlobalColorDoNotWorkOnGradient.mov Create two new global colors Create a new shape with a gradient fill Set both colors of the gradient to your previously created global colors Edit any of the two global colors used in this gradient --> The gradient fill won't update to reflect the edited global color. I sadly have to admit this is insanely contra productive :( Cheers,
  23. Hi, I just did a tradeshow display in Affinity Designer. Back ground is full black and built to a rich black as specified by the output shop. C30, M20, Y20, K100. Using export persona or just the export to PDFx, the rich black information is lost and ends up being C63, M52, Y49, K91 when checked in output preview in Adobe Acrobat. Vendor is flagging file as having to much ink density, and it looks like I am either going to have to redo it in illustrator, or export it to eps and try to rebuild it in illustrator. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. While I love designer as a purely illustration app. it is things like this and few other missing or incomplete features that give me serious reserve as using this app as a professional production tool.
  24. Hi, I'm trying out the Affinity Photo 10-day tutorial and wanted to work on some projects to familiarize myself with the software. Now, when I want to make anything white it appears as a creamy yellow rather than actual white which frustrates me to death. When I export it I do get the actual color white. But I would like to preview how my image looks while i'm actually editing it. What I've Tried: - Reboot PC after installing Affinity Photos - import PSD to get the desired color profile that shows white... as white - set my Preferences > color profiles to sRBG as suggested in many forums (which you can see in the screenshot). - Open new tabs where I also set the color profile to sRGB All of this has only managed to get my Navigator to display white as actual white. If anyone could help me out on this one I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance Affinity Photos enthusiast, NolenBrolen
