  1. Hey, One feature that always bugs me is the fact in the history of a document, selecting or deselecting an object is included. I find it irritating that there isn't at the very least an option to not include this in the history as it is something so minimal that can lead to you losing a huge chunk of your history should you want to temporarily go back and accidentally (de)select an object as that loses any progress you made in that time. I understand sometimes it can be helpful, but most of the time I find it to be a nuisance. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, Harry
  2. Within Affinity Designer 1.5.4, I opened an Illustrator CC (.ai) file that was saved with PDF content. Within the "PDF Options" dialog, at the bottom it said I had a missing font (a Japanese font). I clicked on the Replacement Family popup but could not find the font so I just clicked the Open button. The document opened with all text that used that "missing" font converted to a generic font. I then choose the Text tool and selected some of that text, and I then clicked on the Font popup in the upper left. Low and behold, there was my "missing" font within that popup. Selecting the font made the selected text look normal again, albeit with messed up kerning. So wouldn't you say this be a bug? For truly, if the font is really there (and since I proved that after opening the file), the very fact Affinity Designer said the font was missing seems like a bug to me. I now have a related question. In Illustrator whenever this sort of thing happens, after I open a document I can then easily click on the Type menu and choose "Find font..." That opens the Font Font dialog which gives me an at-a-glance overview of all the fonts in the document, showing me which is missing (if any). I can then quickly and easily choose a font to substitute from the bottom half of that dialog, and with a mere click of the "Change All" button, I can substitute my replacement font throughout the document. How does one accomplish that using Affinity Designer? Surely there must be an easy way to tell Affinity Design how to substitute fonts throughout a document? Thank you.
  3. Hello I just bought Affinity Designer a month ago for Mac but accidentally my Mac is broken and forced me to get me a new laptop. So I have to buy a new one, which isn't Mac but Windows OS platform instead. So my question is that is there any chance to change Affinity Designer from Mac to Windows? I just saw Affinity has released for Windows version. Best Regards, Buck
  4. Somebody has some advice for this problem? Every time I zoom, click anywhere, even looking at the monitor the wrong way the image flicker and seems to reconstruct the preview, it's very annoying, and the contrary of what I see in affinity's video tutorial where appear to be smooth as heck
  5. My question is if I buy a licence I will get a serial number and if I undersatnd it correctly at activation I need the email address I purchased the software with and the recived serial number. Later if I no longer use that email address can I change it or it will stuck to that address? Or its just a "data" and no need for confirmation?
  6. I know I have inadvertently done this in the past but now that I want to --- I can't figure it out. IE; I am creating a design to print on fabric that is sort of a word toss of a child's name in several different fonts. My plan was to make each font for "jane" a different layer but may want to change that particular font/name to ' john' and when I change one it will change all those names in that font at the same time ---- I would appreciate the help. Thanks
  7. When I first started using AD it had a feature for exporting slices on the Export Persona Studio Layer. You could define a slice and it showed the slice you had defined with an icon sized image to be export. To the right was a quick link to 'export this slice'. Now when I go to export, it just shows the elements, but not the slice. I have to use the Export x1 (or x2 or x3) buttons in the tool bar. Is this a deliberate change to the way Export works, or have I accidentally selected a different view? Thanks RPJ
  8. Hello! I just this morning got a tip from some site about Affinity Photo. I'm tired of paying for the subscription I'm currently have with LR and PS CC. I'm importing and fixing the most of my pictures in LR. Some of them, portraits for example, I also edit in PS. LR is easy and fast but I'm feeling that I'm not using it enough to pay the subscription fees. I can buy two Affinity Photo for the same money as a year of LR + PS. Is there anyone who made the switch who had the same workflow as me? Is Affinity a good replacement if I use LR? Any tips for a good way of cataloguing my photos as LR?
