  2. Hello, I'm HalbLeiter. Today, I experienced strange problem in the EXIF of the image I've taken. I'm using Nikon Df and SIGMA Art 24-35mm f/2.0, and the images were taken with the RAW(.NEF) format. When I opened these images with the Affinity Photo, the lens data were shown (ex. focal length, aperture) but the lens maker and model were not shown. I also made questions to the lens maker(SIGMA) and camera maker(NIKON). Answer from SIGMA: This problem is related with the camera maker. Maybe the camera maker have no information about the newly released lens on the look-up table. However, we don't have permission to tweak the firmware on the camera. Please ask to the camera maker. Answer from NIKON: In original, we(NIKON) are not supporting 3rd party accessories such as lenses, batteries and speedlights. In other case, when the camera body cannot recognizes the lens, the lens maker is updating their firmware to make recognizable. Please ask to the camera maker. How do you think about this? _DSC7569.zip
  3. This is one of my first vector drawings. Ever. Couldn't really wrap my head around how to work with the tools in other vector-based software but in Affinity Designer it was a cinch. Apres Tanguy zine drawing 4.pdf
  4. It was a nice surprise to find the art brushes in Affinity Photo. Here is a painting based on a couple of photos I took in Maine. The work took about 3-4 hours. The program could be better at painting with a couple of simple additions: 1 A good blender brush. Smudge and Blur aren't that useful for this. 2 A simple and easy way to change brush size without having to go to the slider - shortcut keys - control click and then drag to set size

    Gallery Page on your website

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but. How about a page for your artists to post samples of their work they have done with your software. I don't see any links on your site leading to a page for that.
  6. I tried to use as many of the brushes as I could. Starting with a black background saved me a lot of work. Keeping foreground, mid ground, and background in separate layers also helped a lot. The texture brushes are a blast to use.
  7. I started with an all-brown drawing and used very low transparency brushes to overlay color
  8. I tried to keep the total time below 2 hours and 1 Brush. This is based on a photo of the waterfall that run through the center of Camden Maine. I am liking the speed and responsiveness of the brushes, and the program in general. Fast and so far no crashes or problems. Very good.

    Testing Affinity magic

I am a complete newbie to Affinity and this is my first attempt at a project. I am attempting to copy a pattern used by an artist on the Web who is involved heavily with Sacred Geometry. If you are interested you can Google Charles Gilchrist or Sacred Geometry. The pattern was used as the base for one of his Mandala paintings. The pattern called Natures First Pattern is basically circles arranged to form a repeating pattern. This is the result of my first attempts with Affinity and vectors in general. Of course, I had to pick an easy one ! I am convinced that Affinity Designer is made with secret magic potions and mysterious spells. All of this pattern is split into individual pieces and the file is still very small and extremely responsive on the screen. If I were to export this file to PSD it would generate a 13 Meg file ! The document size is 24 x 24 inches at 300 DPI for printing. I will post an update when it is colored. Should take me about 23 years !

    Classical Violin

Hi, My take on a classic. Made the shots dramatic to enhance the feeling of old and prestige. Rendering time was quite short about 5 min each. POST in Affinity Photo Beta. ;) For more pics check my behance + a modeling timelapse. https://www.behance.net/gallery/24002497/Classical-Violin? Cheers, Vlad
  14. Hi everybody, I've created this book reading slug. The drawing is to be used as a colouring page for free download at a website for kids. I really like the abillity to draw using the pen tool and then add the pressure feeling afterwards :)

This is a minimalistic view of my layout on the desk at home. I started out with the intention of only making the keyboard, but then I wanted to make more :D

    Birds of A Feather

So tonights late night doodle is dedicated to the special lady in my life... Ok maybe this was an excuse to play with creating my own custom brushes. I am building a nice little collection of brushes. So tonight was about brushes and mixing up some vectors with some pixels all in one image. You work in this application long enough you start jumping between the pixel and Draw Persona and you dont even think twice. I love to know what everyone interpretation of the story is in this image. (Squirrel) ohh did I mention I say Big Hero 6 the movie today? Go see it !!! It is worth every bit of the coin. Anyway enjoy.
  17. I'm delighted to have been involved in putting together this article on the popular Creative Bloq for designers using Affinity Designer... you'll know some names in the piece from this forum :) http://www.creativebloq.com/examples-affinity-designer Please share these talented folks' artworks by using the social buttons at the top of the article. You'll also recognise most if not all the designs as they have appeared in some form on Twitter, in the product in some cases, in the forum, and in some Affinity marcomms. I take my hat off to these designers in particular for what they've achieved but appreciate all of you that are producing artwork with AD, I hope we're able to give you all an opportunity to look fantastic. Designers in this spotlight piece are: Val Motsch (Lescot) Jonathan Ball (Poked Studios) Ben The Illustrator (The Huddle Formation) Neil Ladkin (Serif & Affinity Art Director) David Wildish (FLOKK Creative) Sascha Preuβ (Bubblefriends) Paolo Limoncelli (UX-DesignStudio) Ignacio Valicenti (IDV) and YoAz Thanks guys, Dale.
