  1. Editing a photo through the Apple Photos extension, cropping in the develop module is not cropping where indicated. See attached images. Cropping works OK in Edit module
  2. Hey guys, just want to gather some experiences from people who might be using this software as a substitute for Photoshop on the go digital painting wise...and an idea on if it's worth the investment or not. since the release of the iPad Pro version i have been constantly looking through sites and forums for peoples experiences and the usual outcome is critical praise along the lines of a great substitute for PS but usually based off of the perspective from someone who used it with editing photos and not so much with illustration & painting. Basically my Cintiq is down and much of my work has fallen onto the iPad pro i'm not too interested in Astropad and i do have Mediabang and Procreate but both are always lacking many functions i love from using Photoshop i love concept art, texturing, sprite-work and animating so i'd absolutely love anyone else's input on personal experiences before i make the jump. Thanks! :)
  3. I am using Retouch plugin in Apple Photos. The one bug is that there is no zoom. I have tried every key shortcut but can;t zoom in, basically making the plugin useless. Is this a bug or zoom not implemented? Thanks David
  4. Hey there, I'm wondering if there are any tutorials specifically for putting the website design together and making it work. Is it simply html coded after designing a webpage in AD? For instance, how would you make functioning buttons and links from it? I don't mind the html part, I just need to know if the UI kit includes that type of option to make the buttons I create do something. If there's nothing AD can do for that, how are people creating mobile/web interfaces with their AD designs? Second question, are there any tutorials on how to make keyboards with the UI kit for mobile? Just keyboard skins. I've already viewed Affinity's tutorials on the UI kit, they don't answer these questions for me. Thank you~
  5. Good afternoon, I want to clean some spots on an old photo with the clone tool brush. In the past I selected an area near the spot with Alt/Click and filled in the spot with Click/Drag. But since the update 1.5 it doesn't work anymore, no matter what combination I try. I use a Macbook Pro with the latest version OSX. Regards, Maarten
  6. Since really exploring Affinity products, I decided it's time I put my MacBook Pro aside and get something that AD and APh can really take advantage of the core features of the latest hardware. What would be your model choice, screen size, most helpful peripherals/accessories? Of course budget has to come into it, but I am more interested in the right equipment to get work out without being extravagant and wasteful. Thanks for your replies. Michael
  7. Good morning everyone. I'm not hundred percent sure this is a bug, but at least, it acts exactly like if it was for me. I'll probably fill an Apple Bug Report, in case it's Apple fault, but if so, I'm sure you guys would have more chances to get listened by Apple doing your own. Here's the situation, I like to use the Apple Color Picker, because I can create per client color palettes. So whatever application I'm using to create something for my client, I can call the Apple Picker and get my clients colors from it. I've notice that when I'm using it, my selected and applied colors get their values changed on Affinity. How to reproduce: • Create a new Affinity Designer document, and set it to RBG/sRGB IEC61966-2.1 space color. • Create a new shape and set it's fill color to 216, 0, 16 • Unselect the shape! • Open the Apple Color Picker, go to Color Slider tab. Choose RGB Sliders and (important), on the little gear at the right of the dropdown, choose sRBG so your color will be defined as this (from my understanding). Choose 216, 0, 16 • Switch to Color Palettes tab and add you newly created color • Select back your previously created shape and by looking to the RBG Sliders of Affinity, clic your saved color on the Apple Color Picker. Bam, colors have been changed to 204, 0, 15, which are the values in Generic RBG space. Any light to bright my issue? As always, thanks for the support.
  8. Any changes because of (UK-)MAP and British pound changes, the (hard) Brexit, …? Perhaps new prices, the MAP exit and foreign branches?
  9. Hi guys Around a year ago I have to change the country on Apple Store and I have contacted Apple because I have a lot of paid app for Mac and iPhone and she as tells me if I have that app on the device the apps still have the updates. I have checked the last version of Affinity Designer and my version is oldest that on Apple Store, why my Affinity isn't updated like before?
  10. I'm new to Affinity and just started with the Beta Testing on Windows. Between work and personal use though, I have Mac and Windows computers and would like to know if there would be a way to just make the one purchase. I know that's done with other software because it just keeps the keys or matches to which computer it's on, but don't know if that is offered with you guys. If you have to buy software for windows and mac separately, is there at least a bundle?

  13. I can't buy this software from apple store because there is no my country in options. Can I buy Affinity Designer from some other source with paypal? I am not from US.
  14. Since Apple stop support pro-user software, you are my hope now :) . Affinity Designer and Photo are amazing. Now i read you develop a DAM Solution. That's really amazing. 1. Apple Aperture is the best picture managing software for pro user i ever found and used. Use it for inspirate the affinity DAM software. Clever Keywords with drag and drop, very fast filepreview, dynamic intuitive GUI are only some great features of Aperture. Another great little fast tool is Pixa. But Aperture is no more supported and Pixa have missing features. Now you are the hope for Pro-Users. 2. Must have: Offline no-Cloud solution for Companys with sense of security. i am so exiting, let me know when beta is out :D Great job!!!

  16. Hi Guys, We are looking to replace Photoshop across the board at all our offices with Affinity Photo. We are having trouble doing volume purchasing for our staff in India via Apples volume purchase program. Is there any way for us to buy licenses directly from Affinity, or anywhere else other than the App Store. If we volume buy licenses in the Australian or US app store will they be legally O.K. for use in india, or should be buy licenses some other way for these staff. Cheers Ben

Thanks, Apple. No AFFINITY without you.
  18. Would be really nice to be able to copy/past Apple Numbers spreadsheet tables into Affinity Designer. Right now it is pretty rubbish, and If I want to get a table pasted into Affinity Designer I need to Copy from Apple Numbers, Paste into Adobe Photoshop, export as PSD, import PSD into Affinity designer. I say Apple Numbers because the table design tools are the best there is, fast easy and very good quality. This would negate Affinity Designer having to get too involved in creating its own table designer, In Design tables are trash also, but I can copy/paste from Apple Numbers. Thanks,
  19. Hi Affinity, how can I gift your App to an Apple ID. Cannot find the menu item in Apples App Store in the drop down menu in the right square of the price tag. Regards D.
  20. I think it would be nice to have integration with Apple Photos. I believe that Apple offers an option for plugins , so perhaps by clicking a plugin icon we can open the image in Affinity. So, it would be nice to use Apple Photos for importing and navigation and do editing in Affinity. Right now I have to export the files ( not a big deal ) and then work on them. Initially, I disliked Apple Photos because it seemed to me rudimentary , however recently I have been testing it against other Raw editors including Lightroom ( horrible rendition of color at least for NEF ) and Capture One ( surprisingly Apple Photos handles color almost as good as Capture One, capture One has excellent Shadow and Highlight recover and Clarity filters , other than that I am happy with Apple Photos )
  21. I am brand new to Affinity Photos and El Capitan... I have been using Lightroom and been thinking of switching to Photos.. just to simplify my life... I like what I have seen with AP...however I cannot seem to use it as an extension in Photos.... Is it possible? Apple support seems to think it is not possible...
  22. All of a sudden my Affinity Photo (purchased via the Apple App Store) stopped working. It opens but then locks up on the main splash screen. I have to force quit. I've restarted the computer, deleted and reinstalled Affinity Photo, but it's still bad. I'm using 10.11 Beta (15A234d). Are there know issues with Photo on the beta?
  23. After the recent popularity of my flat icon tutorial, I decided to start a tutorial series focusing on the principles of flat design. In this first tutorial, I focus on basic shapes and flat colors. As an example, I walk through how to make a flat iMac icon like I posted before. To view the tutorial, click here. Hope you like it!
  24. Hello team! I have a question for you: why the version under App Store repository take so long time for upgrade?! We need an upgrade for Yosemite iCloud Support, Fix on Fonts selection and many other think!
  25. One of the things that really bugged me about my PS / LR workflow is the way that Photos would get passed back and forth between the two apps. With a typical workflow you start with a Photo in LR and then need to send it to PS to do something that LR can't do. LR makes a copy of the photo so when you are done editing it you now have two similar photos in your library. If you decide you want to edit the photo again you now have three copies and then four etc. The way this operation should really work is you make an adjustment in Apple's upcoming Photos app, say move the brightness to 27, and then when you export the file to Affinity Photo it uses the same photo instead of a copy of the photo. You should then see your brightness adjustment of 27 in Affinity Photo and then be able to make an adjustment to the brightness again to 15 which should then show up in the settings to Apple's app as you return back to it. I can understand some of the reasons why Adobe's workflow was clumsy, they were trying to get a 17 year old app to work with a brand new app after all. But now that both Apple and Affinity are both starting out at version 1 and at essentially the exact same time let's try and get the way this works under control. I disagree with many people on this forum that Adobe's photo solution works pretty well I think there is a huge opportunity for taking on Adobe in this area.
