  1. Its just crazy there isn't an Android version of Affinity. My two cents. Yadda yadda about M1 and processors etc. This is a professional tool, Affinity is not supposed to be just winning a drag race for number crunching speeds. I'd be quite happy with my Android tablet coming in a few milliseconds behind Mac, as long as it got the job done in a tolerable time.
  2. Android tablet getting pretty good. And there is no combination in it if you add the affinity suite. There is no full creative apps in Android it would be amazing if we could have apps like the affinity suite. Thanks and I hope y'all think about it

  4. Hi, As mentioned in the title, Affinty suite should include support for "density-independent" pixels (also known as 'DP') that are primarily used during Android/ Material Design development. The specification can be found on this website, but essentialy they are similiar to Apple's 'points' (pt) which is already supported, and very similair in function. 'dp' varies by using 160 pixel/inch base instead of 163: Android presets for phones such as the Google Pixel would be a welcome addition that use this new unit. This would really help me out as currently I struggle with asset creation / UI design for Android and always messing up the sizes when exporting. Since points are already supported, I would image adding this unit shouldn't be too much of a hassle (hopefully 😁)

Here is a collection of assets created from the material design sticker sheet obtained here: https://material.google.com/resources/sticker-sheets-icons.html Could use a little more work, but I've added constraints to the lists, UI bars, and tabs. Most of the shadows are currently bitmaps. I had issues with some text boxes becoming the wrong size when the group was turned into an asset, so artistic text is used in some places where a text frame would be more appropriate. I couldn't find a license anywhere for the sticker sheet, so feel free to modify and share or use however you want, however, please don't redistribute as an asset pack while charging a price (sharing for free is fine). If you want to share any changes/improvements, I'd appreciate it if you posted them to this thread. An example I quickly made with some of the assets is below. material_assets.zip

I've had a look and couldn't find this anywhere, so apologies if this is a duplicate post but I notice that you have default iOS assets in Affinity Designer, but I couldn't find any Android ones. I've looked high and low and can't find anything similar on the web (can anyone point me to any?) so it'd be really good to have these in there. I'm sure I can't be the only person trying to design for Android and facing the situation of having to do everything from scratch! Thank you! M
  7. hi, I have a question - do not you plan to enter Affinity on Android devices? - today devices with this system are able to support the software often have better solutions than those in Apple - an example may be Note series from Samsung, these phones and tablets have a great hardware specification as well as have an excellent S-pean
  8. Do you have any plans to support Chromebooks? or linux (of the popular distros) or android os? (last I checked there were more android tablets than ios tablets [shrug]) many linux apps and many android apps will run on chrome so it could be a "several birds" kind of thing, possibly.

It is related to export of the vector image into multiple resolutions. On Android it is very common that one vector image is exported into multiple resolutions. Do you think we can get the full Affinity Photo desktop client for Android on Chromebooks with an adaptive interface that can switch to the Affinity Photo touch client when in tablet mode?

  13. Hello and greetings. I got a strange problem, when I finish editing my pictures in affinity photo and export them, to forward them to friends on my android phone, I can't see them on my phone. (Galaxy A3, Android 8.0) I use the JPG format for exporting, since this seems to be the usual format for this kind of device. I tried different resolutions, DPI settings, changed the pixel format and the ICC profile, but nothing seems to work. The profiles which I used, where Adobe RGB (1998), Pro Photo RGB and srgb iec61966-2.1. The last one is displayed in the info from the pictures of my phone cam, so I hoped it will work, yet it didn't. Final workaround for now was to use a JPG picture from my phone and to copy and paste the desired picture in to that file, just too few and send it with my phone. It worked but this can't be a solution! Another point which may be vital, was the transfer from Adobe Lightroom. I used the “external editing” option in Lightroom to send the RAW files to affinity photo. The settings which I used for the formatting process where: tiff, ProPhoto RGB, 16 bit depth, 300 dpi, no compression. Question is, how do I make these exported JPG pictures visible and usable in my android phone gallery? I hope someone understands my problem and has a better solution.

  15. Hi, I have purchased both Photo and Designer and cannot help notice that serif is making it available on iPad!!!. I wonder if Serif will ever make versions for android, since android is now outselling IOS I cannot see why it is not available on android.

  18. As a UI designer, it'd be mighty handy to have a blur beneath effect. I believe it's pretty self explanatory, but just in case it would automatically blur any pixels below it to the desired value. This would allow a much more rapid workflow for testing out UI iterations on different backgrounds, instead of having to constantly adjust duplicate layers with masks.

I've been recently trying to process some DNG files produced by my smartphone (an LG G6 aka LG-H870DS), and the colours are appearing faded with a weird hue in the Develop persona compared to the out-of-camera (OOC) JPEGs. I've tried to edit the DNGs to match the colours of the original OOC JPEGs, but have been unable to do so. I'm wondering if this is intended behaviour (in other words, me being not being proficient enough in Photo/editing), or if the DNGs are being read incorrectly. I'm a total noob with both Affinity Designer (purchased yesterday) and my Wacom Intuos tablet, but as I tried to doodle a bit, I found it more than a bit frustrating that I would need to reach for my mouse, then find and click incredibly small buttons to do something as simple as, say, switch to a different colour or brush. It occurred to me how incredibly useful it would be to be able to use the off hand to give context-sensitive commands on something like my Android tablet. This could all but eliminate the need to reach for the mouse or keyboard! Is there anything like that available on the market, or being planned?

  23. Hi there, I am curious if Affinity will support more hardware tools and/or other platforms in the future? I am thinking about support for Surface Dial and Android support. I think with desktop support on latest Samsung devices (dex), Affinity could be quite useful. Android on the other hand is quite memory hungry...
