  1. Hello. I've encountered something unusual here, perhaps a bug or an unacknowledged feature/behavior. I encountered this issue then drafting a bug report, eventually identifying the cause. To ensure clarity and prevent others from encountering the same problem, I will continue detailing my report. At this juncture, when attempting to create sample files for attachment (by reviewing the layer structure in Affinity Publisher), I identified some peculiar rules - a temporary solution to my problem and likely (99%) the cause of my confusion during the second PSD export: As Affinity designers, when activating artboards, we have two choices: use the artboard layer as a background or create a new rectangle as a background. While this choice may seem unimportant, if you're incorporating PSD export into your workflow, you should be aware of the following rules in Affinity: If we use the artboard as a background with any color, PSD export with export persona afdesigner will rasterize group layers. --> PSD If we use a new rectangle as a background and keep the artboard with no color, PSD export with export persona afdesigner will maintain the structure of group layers. --> PSD If we use the artboard as a background with any color except #FFFFFF, then convert artboards to spreads (afdesigner open with afpub) will result in a layers structure with "Artboard" as a parent. Exporting this structure to PSD will result in the rasterization of group layers. --> --> PSD If we use the artboard as a background using color #FFFFFF OR use a rectangle as a background, then convert artboards to spreads will result in a layers structure without the "Artboard" layer. Exporting this structure to PSD will preserve the structure of group layers. --> PSD --> PSD I believe many Affinity users utilize PSD Export as a bridge to Adobe users. Therefore, this serves as a helpful guide unless the developers make any behavioral changes for this. With this, I am also seeking confirmation from the Affinity Developers regarding this issue and would like insights into their planned course of action. Thank you. Fal Test eXPORT.afdesign
  2. Made with Affinity Photo and Designer complete on the iPad Pro (Also used After Effect + Rough Animator for motion graphic) While studying at SAE for my Bachelor of Design, I got the opportunity to work on a re-brand and advertisement campaign for Wokka. (The following body of work is for university work only and are not for a real camping) The campaign is focused around 3 main posters that follow the story of the Dinosaur challenging the Ninja to a fight (Poster 1) so they go to the battlefield in order to fight (Poster 2) Tho they realized that neither one of them knew how to fight, so they ended it on the dance floor. The Ninja won the battle and the dinosaurs did not like this so he takes the ninja into hiding. After a couple of weeks after the posters go up a new poster he be put up over the past posters along in other area's and within the online place, this poster is a "Ninja missing poster" on the back will give some information and a QR code to give information to the "player" about the "transmedia" game where the "player" will need go around the "real world" with the Wokka app taking photos of the ninja's clothes, ninja sword, ninja star along with the use of information around online such as youtube video, Reddit posts, forum posts and more to help give information to the ninja's location, bringing the community together for a single goal. To help find the ninja's location in order for the first 5 people who find him and take a photo to get one year supply of Wokka noddles and to start of 50% off and double points for Wokka products. 3. Yesterday I searched for lightweight video editor some NLE with good slideshow capability and nice video transition, effect, color grading etc. And I have found none that can replace Adobe solutions. So i have feature request to add basic video and slide show support to Affinity Photo similar in features to PS or Lightroom. Or even better I will be super happy if Affinity will come with Premiere or After Effect equivalent.
  4. Hi, Should be really great if it would be possible saving project in AI format to import them in after effect. Actually, when i use the PDF format, there's some problems with the transparency and gradient. Thanx and thanx for this awesome software!
  5. Hi there , First of all, Congratulations for this excellent soft (Affinity Designer)!! it's very useful, very easy & beautifull UI. i'm teaching many different softwares for students and i'm seriously considering teaching new software ( although some agencies are not all yet ready ...) i'm working for years in the industry of graphic design and was always looking for something like that (A.Deisgner) but Now ... when i see all the potential of these softs, i am wondering if you're going to do something for video editing/animation like After effects ? this would logically be a good issue for you. i know it's going to be hard but i know for sure that you can truly go further than After effects. Once more congrat , but wht next now ? Jacques Louradour
