  1. The new Affinity designer for iPad looks and feels awesome. I would love to see a similar version of the Designer on Windows 10 which uses the full potential of the Windows 10 touch functionalities. A direct copy of the iPad UI could be awesome.

  3. Hi. I just got the offer to the mail where he says that there is a discount and the application for ipad costs $13.99, which at the change in euros are 11.98 €. However, when you go to buy the program, you mark me 14.99€? Could you confirm if it is a mistake or misleading advertising? I want to buy it but with the price of the offer sent to me. (sorry for my english) Thank you very much.
  4. I haven't posted much here recently but thought I'd show a few things I've done in AD over the last couple o' months.
  5. Hi, If I enable ,,Touch for gestures only" under Preferences/Tools, I can still move, place shapes/fills/etc, it only disables the pen tool and the pencil. Is this intentional? If so, please make it consistent with Affinity Photo - this option works there as expected. Thanks! Balázs

  7. I am using affinity products and was wondering which is the best possible way to accelerate Designer. I am using a 2017 MacBook Pro? Is metal the best solution?
  8. In this short tutorial of a user request, I'll show you how to create an incision/ cut info graphic in Affinity Designer 1.6.1 and how to use it in Affinity Photo 1.6.7 as an image brush or as a vector graphic with the place function. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  9. In this beginner tutorial, I'll show you how to use Affinity Designer 1.6.1 to draw a dartboard with simple tools. The following tools from the toolbar are used in this tutorial: • Move [V] • Node tool [A] • Rectangle [M] • Ellipse [M] • Graphic text [T] I mainly work with the following panels in this tutorial: • Transform • Layer • Swatches / Color • Stroke With power duplication we also get to know the function of rotation and changing the rotation origin. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  10. I am desperately trying to escape Adobe's stranglehold, and purchased Designer as an alternative to Illustrator. I create a lot of wine labels. The printer uses Illustrator for all its work, so the files I send need to be readable by Illustrator. I need to indicate where the the printers need to emboss, add silkscreen, foil, etc so I organize my AD file into layers. However when I export to PDF, and reopen the file in Illustrator, the entire structure is lost. I do see the layers preserved when I open the PDF in Acrobat however, so I find this confusing. Attached are screenshots of AD file, Acrobat view, and a couple in Illustrator showing the single layer will all the separate elements making the file unworkable. Also included is the original AD design file. Is this possible to achieve? LV_Cab_2016.afdesign
  11. Hello everyone, From today i believe i have to start sharing few of our design works (actually i'm working alone but i do build a team from time to time depending on project size ) Most of our client/requesters are Church based and we really enjoy doing stuffs for them but what you will se here is more about Smarty Studio standing with other studio/teams together into what is to become Congolese Design Style. Well each country have it's own style of design but Congo doesn't have a proper thus most of Congolese designers simply clone/copy styles from everywhere. This is a beginning, please your inputs on each design palet/kit will be of great help and will help us improving better. Blessings !
  12. Really wanted to do a DOOM version of my branding for a while, so I took elements from both the original logo as well as the reboot and mashed it together. Really happy with the results. This is my first big project fully utilizing Affinity Designer. Fully vector and fully in-house.
  13. I have been searching for a while now, but cant find any "select same colour" feature. All I can find is a feature request post from 4 years ago asking for this. Surely this rudimental feature has been implimented by now. Selecting and replacing a colour is one of the main benefits of vector work, to not have this seems crazy to me. I know the dev team is small and your product is so superior to Adobe is so many ways, but missing fundamental features like this makes it unusable for real world projects. I hope I am being a dullard and a select same colour feature is available. If not please add it to the top of the list of features in the next update.
  14. Just messing around. If you look it up people say to use the Clarendon Black font for the Love style. But it isn't really that close to what he used so I altered it a fair amount, it's not exactly the same but closer.
  15. First time posting here! I've been using AD for almost a year, and it's now my go-to for pretty much all of my graphic work. Here's a piece I recently whipped up that's part of a sci-fi series I'm working on. Obviously, it's inspired by old propaganda posters. That, and a heavy dose of Ray Bradbury.
  16. Is there a simple way to convert circular curves into actual circles? I have an image with a lot of circles (visually) which are technically just curves. And I want to export this as SVG. Curves are converted to SVG paths and are much more elaborate (in terms of code) than circles, so I could have a much smaller file size if the circles would be exported as circles instead of paths. However, for that I need actual circle shapes in AD, so ideally I’d need some way to convert these curves to circles.
  17. An artistically stylized vector character design. Hope you like it.
  18. Hi guys, I've recently completed this new artwork using all vectors. The challenge had been to avoid 3D modelling while reaching a similar effect with the power of lights inside Affinity Designer. I used Affinity Photo only to apply the light effect on the in-graphics vintage poster, simulating a rudimental light from up left corner. Hope you appreciate.
  19. General Mayhem — cartoony vector character design and illustration. Hope you like it.
  20. Just recently completed another fun project using Designer exclusively. I had this concept for a Madame Butterfly opera poster for awhile but really didn't feel like my previous app was up to it so I put it on the shelf until a few months back when I decided to tackle it in Designer. The look and feel I was shooting for was sort of like those rich coloured album cover airbrushed illustrations from the 70's and 80's. Where everything is soft and saturated. I was really pleased with the outcome and glad that I waited to do this in Designer. Below are some screenshots, with more on my Behance site and there's also a short tutorial just uploaded by Affinity's Andy Capstick on the new Affinity Spotlight blog specifically on the creation of the eyes for this piece. Hope you like! https://affinityspotlight.com/article/the-eyes-of-a-butterfly-with-kevin-house/
  21. Ok so I am new to Affinity Designer and have been working with it for a little over a week. Maybe I am missing something obvious, but is there a way to edit the flow while using the vector brush tool? I'd like to lessen the flow with the strokes I am using. Thanks in advance for you help.
  22. Why are you developing Affinity Designer so slowly? You have created a terrific application, but do not hurry to develop it( You do a lot of new things because you do not have a subscription and you need to make money on new products but please do not forget to pump Affinity Designer. Thank you for your attention and for the incredible cool app AD and AP)
  23. Or most things starting with V! Bit of a doodle, I was going to have it as a solid pattern but liked the look of sort of capping the top and bottom and leaving some background.
  24. I wasn't in the mood to do any proper work this evening so was messing around and tried emulating quilling in AD with the letter A. As it was trying to copy hand curled paper it also meant I didn't have to get the curves or spirals perfect.
  25. A storm trooper study where I tried to give it a photorealistic touch. Upper half is finished, lower half is still 2d flat. It takes some time. Hope you get inspired nevertheless.
