  1. I have photographed this lady a long time ago, now I've edited the image with AP :)
  2. I tried to keep the total time below 2 hours and 1 Brush. This is based on a photo of the waterfall that run through the center of Camden Maine. I am liking the speed and responsiveness of the brushes, and the program in general. Fast and so far no crashes or problems. Very good.
Because it was requested, I set English Subtitles! So you can laugh about the mistakes :D  ... Viel Spaß. Ihr könnt mir wie immer Eure Werke hier oder auf Twitter posten. 4. Hi, another attempt at a composite photo, this time using a series of four photos. Not a difficult one this, the splash photo was the background and the boy diving simply cut and pasted from the other shots in the sequence. Once again, any comments, good or bad are welcome. Thanks horslip

I'm going home, to where I belong

What I love about compositing is the ability to make it look as natural as possible, of course there are times where its obvious and that's the look your going for. Love how easy Affinity photo made this for me. This is made up of 4 pictures, love the black and white look I was able to achieve. Allan
  7. A simple composite comprising my Gran Turismo 6 Avatar placed at the Pit Entrance of the track at Ascari, Ronda, Spain.
  8. Hi, I would like to share one of my first composition and color correction with Affinity Photo. It's my vision of a modern Mermaid. Watch it on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/gp/134512556@N02/Sg96dm Modern Mermaid.tiff
  9. Hallo, ich habe auf YouTube ein Tutorial hochgeladen wie man ein Planeten-Thema erstellt. Viel Spaß beim Schauen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVmLhnQHaZs

    Vulture Beach

Spent a little time this morning trying to composite some images in AP. I'm still learning the tools and features of this app, but more and more I'm starting to see how I can replace PS for good. The beach and the photo of the tree were shot by me. The vultures were found searching google. Any thoughts, suggestions, tips, or feedback? Thanks!
  11. in affinity photo 1.3.4 the marquee selection deletes the whole layer when delete is pressed, it doesn't just delete the selected portion. this is on a iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) running yosemite 10.10.4 (14E46).
  12. in affinity photo 1.3.4 on osx 10.10.4 (14E46) on an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) - the magic wand tool performs no selection on an image in a layer, also the drop down menu for selcting tonal range highlights did nothing.only the selection brush tool worked.
  13. Affinity Photo 1.3.4 consistently freezes on me when choosing between multiple tools in El Capitan Public Beta 3 and Public Beta 4. I have to force quit the application each time. It's likely an Apple issue, and I've reported it to them, but I thought I'd post it here too. I didn't really start using Affinity Photo until I upgraded to the El Capitan beta, so I don't know if the issue also occurs in Yosemite. I have a 13-inch MacBook Pro (early 2011) with 756GB SSD and 16GB RAM, connected to a 27-inch Cinema Display.
  14. Affinity Photo 1.3.4 (App Store build). I was experimenting with creating a simple high pass effect: Open image Place an Invert adjustment on top Set the blend mode of the Invert Adjustment Layer to Linear Light and Alpha to 50%. As expected, everything is 50% gray. At this point, lowpass filtering the top layer in any way (blurring, median etc.) should theoretically produce a high pass filter effect (it works fine when doing this with a duplicate of the base layer). I tried to do it using only the Adjustment Layer and no duplicate of the base layer. My first attempt was the blur option in the layer styles. With or without "Preserve Alpha" on, this did not have any effect whatsoever. I then created a Gaussian Blur filter layer and nested it inside the Invert Adjustment Layer. With "Preserve Alpha" on, this does not have any effect either. With "Preserve Alpha" on, however, this leads to the edges of the tiles of the memory manager becoming softened (i.e. each tile's alpha gets blurred individually). The image itself is not being blurred at all. See attached Screenshot. I'm not sure which parts of this are by design and which parts are bugs. Should applying blur to an Adjustment Layer, either as a Layer Style or as a nested filter layer, theoretically lead to the adjustment being applied to a copy of the original image, then blurred, and then blended with the original? That's what I would intuitively have expected to happen. If not, maybe the Blur layer style should be disabled for Adjustment layers and Adjustment Layers should not allow Filter Layers to be nested inside of them, because it's kind of confusing if they have no effect.

    Composite in Affinity Photo

Here is a quick composite using Affinity Photo called "Buildings in the Sky" Allan
  16. I'm new to this and I can't seem to save each layer, so when I want to work on it again, it is there. In Photoshop I would simply save the file as a ".psd" but I don't seem to have that option for this. I'm sure it is a simple answer and would really appreciate anyone that can help me out. Thanks for your time.

Also besonders interessant für Umsteiger. Viel Spaß beim Ansehen. Yeahaaa! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qUo-yJWweE
  19. Taken a couple of years ago, here's a shot reworked in Affinity Photo. Any thoughts welcome.
  20. Hello, I want to start off by thanking the Affinity team. I installed the first beta version of AffinityPhoto when it was released. I am a photographer who used Photoshop to edit all my photos. I was impressed enough will the beta version that I started editing my work photos with Affinity. I should've exported my edited photos when completed yet i didn't. Now the beta version is no longer there and i cannot get access to my edited work photos. They got lost with the first beta version. Is there any way to get them back? Thanks in advance: )

    Untitled

This work is untitled (provisionally) - I’m looking for a suitable title for this pic. What does it say to you? Road ..., dream ..., and / or … whatever?? I'm pretty curious about your ideas :) :) ...
  22. Now that I've cracked the clunky uploader, here's a Fuji X-T1 raw file reworked in Affinity Photo. The image was made using the Fujinon XF14mm lens and an ND filter which slowed the world down. Any thoughts welcome.
  23. This was originally an Affinity Photo test. Particularly the hair masking tool. I was surprisingly pleased with the results. If I had to do this seriously I probably wouldn't use this dancer model. But dancing models tend to make interesting poses which makes for great supernatural compositions. She had reddish hair which I enhanced and it reminded me of Dark Phoenix... so I went with it and made my alternative version of Dark Phoenix from X-Men. This was just for fun (for once). I find Affinity Photo much like Photoshop, only more "fun" to use because of live preview features and slick refined work flow and a tight smooth program operations. Only $50 no subscription was a bonus too. This image was originally 6000px Wide and which made the program struggled a bit more and made the fan in my Macbook Pro 2011 sound like a cyclone! My artwork is also on Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/28344101/Dark-Phoenix
  24. Thanks for jokes guys. Here is my second attempt at uploading at pic to this forum. This is a view from the little harbour in the hamlet of Ballintoy on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. The Harbour was used a set for the the Game of Thrones serious, accompanied by heavy use of CG. Here's hoping the pic will upload. Thoughts are of course welcome. Brian
