I shot this using my Celestron 25x100 astrobinoculars using the Celestron NeXYZ smartphone mount and my iPhone 12 Pro 2x telephoto lens. Shot with Procam app. Processed on Affinity Photo latest beta. Showing both original and processed shots. The sky was also made from scratch - the stars were added for effect, shot handheld with iPhone 12 Pro (no astrobinoculars) and Nightmode which is quite impressive.

When I create a new document or open an existing one Photo sizes it to my screen. If the image is lower resolution than my screen it effectively zooms in. Is there was way to have Photo only scale the image down to fit in the window and not scale it up? I find myself always having to press CTRL+1 whenever creating or opening an document which is just annoying. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Many of the Develop Persona adjustments appear to be duplicated in the Photo Persona therefore why make adjustmernts in the Develop Persona which are baked in when similar adjustments in the Photo Persona are non-destructive?

Hey guys! - I'm just plugging a YouTube tutorial I did on how to create your own beskar steel using Affinity Photo & Affinity Designer. I've also got a few other tutorials up on my page that you might wanna check out. I suspect forum users are already pretty savvy to a lot of the techniques etc, but there may still be something of interest there for some of you. Hope everybody's doing well and hanging in there during these chaotic times. Cheers! Beskar Steel Tutorial

Hello Forum, I am posting this because I searched on "Microscopy" "Entomology" and "Focus Stacking" and saw few if any results, I may be in a minority?...... Having spent many years perfecting Microscopy with Entomology and recently converting from a well know rival, I was impressed with the power of Focus stacking within Photo. These two images were taken with modest equipment and a Canon 50d digital SLR dating from 2008 and a Brunel MX1 Stereo Microscope with 1x Objective, 10x Oculars, Giving resolution power of 10x, plus magnification of the camera. Whilst I have DSLR's with much higher pixel resolution, it is often not required and extends processing time, the 15 mp sensor These two images comprise multiple shots (35 & 24) focus stacked within Affinity Photo. I won't bore you with the technical details, but if you want them you can message (I am happy to share) Affinity has saved me exporting my images to a third party software which has enhanced speed of operation and ease of use, one thing to note is that the Affinity software is not too picky on the order of focus slices presented, which is a major benefit to other rivals. Of course this technique could be useful to many area's of photography including, jewellery for record purposes, medical, veterinarian, instruction manuals and service documents where close up work results in very narrow depth of field. Enjoy your photography and enjoy using Photo. Regards Graham.

When I save a photo that I have load into AFFINITY publisher and then save it, it gets an ".afpub" extension compare to when I load and save it from Affinity Photo where it has an ".afphoto" extension. Is there any difference between these? There is a slight difference in the size (1KB)? For printing on my printer, will I get the same result which ever file I use?

Hello, This suggestion is related to this one but also kinda different. I noticed the color picker tool, when configured as "Average (*x*)", will only return the average color when the cursor is inside the document/canvas. When outside, it will return the color of the pixel the mouse pointer is above, and not the actual average color of the zone. It would be nice if the tool could return the average color of the zone, no matter its location (inside/outside the document/canvas, inside/outside the program, whatever the monitor # the cursor is in, etc.). For example, when selecting the color picker tool in average mode and pointing to a 2nd monitor / another window / outside Affinity Designer/Photo, it should return the actual color average.

When I use Affinity photo, while using two screens on Mac, the Color Chooser window opens in a random position often outside either of my screens. Sometimes a sliver of it is still visible and I can drag it back into view but sometimes it is completely out of view. Is this an Affinity issue or a Mac issue? I have not had this issue in Affinity Designer.

Hi, I was doing a batch process for a timelapse. I did some inpainting to remove dust and unwanted objects. All of it was saved in the Macro. However while batch processing, all the other adjustments worked fine except for inpainting, and the unwanted objects, dust was still visible in the batch. Is it a bug or I'm doing something wrong. Thanks
