  1. So I tried some simple grid stitching to see if that works properly now in AP. And YEP, worked really well. Barely had to make manual corrections to the stitch. The shooting setup was as below. X1 | Y1 ————— X2 | Y2 https://500px.com/photo/166244289 It's a great way to cover a wider POV without sacrificing distance to object and perspective.

Would it be at all possible to add in social networking sites in page setup/document setup drop-down menus? As designers, we often work in those mediums and I find myself constantly entering in those dimensions. I think it would be a nice little nod to separate Affinity from the rest of the pack on the desktop design software programs.
  3. Final concept art for client's top-down JRPG game. All work done with Affinity Photo. You can see more of these concepts and some of my process on my Artstation profile. Enjoy!
  4. There have been a couple of threads recently relating to luminosity masks and the limited flexibility available in AP. In one of those threads csp proposed blending options as a better way to do this which set me thinking about how that could work. I have produced a quick, simple video that explains a way to generate a very flexible luminosity mask using blend options. I hope some of you may find it useful. Thanks to csp for the original idea. http://youtu.be/2NfimjzLdbA
  5. I can't seem to figure out why all my layer masks have a discolored edge. It's hard to describe, but I expect the edges of my mask to just fade the masked layer into the background. Instead they are strangely discolored. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks for the help and for the incredibly good software! See attached image and video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zeqybwbdmmorvh5/Pixel%20Mask%20in%20Affinity%20Photo.mp4?dl=0
  6. As a complete newbie to Affinity Photo (and with no PS experience) I would like to know if anyone can point me to a decent vimeo/youtube/whatever video tutorial on how to prepare a photo with CMYK output for silkscreening (with frequency&angles for each channel, +anything on adding single spot colors to a screenprint. There are a few on youtube for Photoshop but I have not been able to find anything comparable for Affinity Photo. Thanks for any help.
  7. Hi, Soft: Affinity Photo The noise filter effect works in preview but once we valid, the application does not include the effect ... the effect does not work ! Problem on an image in RAW or JPEG format! Have you also experienced this problem? Thank you for your help. ;)
  8. Hello, Software: Affinity Photo I am currently developing my pictures in RAW format. I export them to JPEG and I would like to know how to keep the date and time identical to the original RAW file. Is this possible and if so, how do I do? Thank you for your help. ;)

    Self portrait

Self portrait done in Affinity Photo, with default drawing brushes, a bit of Daub's gouache brushes, and a smattering of fine texture on top. Currently using AP for a big client illustration project—it's been a joy to use.
  10. I need to edit product pictures taken on white background in my photo studio so the white background is 100% white. I usually do this in Photoshop with the levels panel. I use the eyedropper inside the Ps levels panel and click in the picture on the white background. Ps changes the levels automatically so the white background becomes 100% white. This functionality I need in Affinity Photo but the levels panel has no eyedropper. Sliding the levels pointers doesn't give me a pure white background. I need a way to tell where the white pixels are that need to become pure white. Is there another workaround I can use to adapt the pictures from my photo studio so white becomes pure white? Thanks for helping me out.

  13. Hi everyone! I'm very new to Affinity Photo and I'm still getting to grips with how everything works. I have drawn a banner across the top of an image using the Pen tool. How do I fill in the gap between the two lines? I've tried this using the Flood Fill tool, however nothing seems to happen when I do so. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Hi, When I export an image to .png or .jpeg with all possible combinations (preset/resample/ICC profiles), the exported image is always oversaturated. Is this a bug in Affinity Photo or am I missing an export option that causes this? I do not want to post my image openly on the forum. I have sent this question with images to "support@seriflabs.com" several days ago but have not received a reply or any indication that the mail has been received. Could you please advise where to send you the original image and the export example? Best regards, Patrick
  15. Hey guys! New poster (and user) here! I've done some designs and have been messing around with the programs. Originally, being an amateur photographer I got Affinity Photo for editing and quickly realized the amazing uses I could do with it. I do a lot of design work for the band now, logos for tshirts and stickers, show posters... I recently downloaded the trial for Affinity Designer and man, am I ever impressed!!! I will be buying it as well. Again, I'm still pretty new at this whole world and learning every day so take it east on me! Haha.. Constructive criticism is definitely welcome! Anyways, here is my first real crack at it. I designed our entire album packaging (cover, back and insert panels. Here is a picture of the cover done with Affinity Photo.
  16. I created a graphic in Affinity Photo that my client wants a PSD file of. I saved out the file as a "PSD (preserve editability)". When I opened the new PSD file in Photoshop the HSL layers that are masked to groups or pixel layers were not preserved, but HSL layers that are on their own layer are preserved. I then added back the HSL layers that didn't come over to Photoshop. Then I applied the same settings from the HSL layer in Affinity Photo to the HSL layer in Photoshop but the results didn't turn out the same. I played around with the settings to discover that the Hue Shift setting in Photoshop had to be set opposite from the Hue Shift setting in Affinity Photo to get the same results. Is this a bug or purposeful? So to recap, the two issues were: 1. HSL layers were not preserved when masked to groups or pixel layers when saved as PSD 2. When adding the HSL layers in Photoshop the Hue Shift setting had to be opposite of the same setting in Affinity Photo to get the same results. (see attached screenshot)
  17. I tried to purchase both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer today based upon the special offers of $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. However the prices are not reflected correctly in the App Store. They are both selling for their full price. Is there some way of correcting this? I tried contacting Apple Support, but they referred me to the forum here. I could not find a contact link anywhere on the Affinity Serif website.

  19. OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 This issue seems to affect files following a save. Open png or jpeg file. Edit file e.g. make use of healing brush tool. Save file. This creates an afphoto file. No longer able to continue editing (afphoto). Close application. Open image file (png / jpeg). Edit file save - no longer able to edit. Currently thinking this purchase was a waste of money!

23. I shot this at fairly high iso (6400) at Eberbach Monastery's wine cellar and stitched it up in Affinity Photo without a hitch. https://500px.com/photo/160881441 The location may seem familiar if you've seen the Sean Connery movie "The Name of the Rose". I'm doing pretty much all of my panoramas in Affinity Photo now. The 32-Bit float ones I still do in PTgui pro for now, but that's about it. Which may change with v1.5 and the HDR bubble feature. ;)
Hi, In this Affinity Photo Tutorial, I show you how to create the metal text effect. Because you need a metal gradient, which is not included in Affinity Photo, I provided already a video, where I show how to create a metal gradient: YouTube Tutorial: create, save & export a metal gradient If you already know to handle the gradient tool, I show here the metal gradient including the color codes. 25.
