I have loaded the beta version (2.2.0.1881) and the Develop Persona reacts incorrectly and not at all logically. Entries can be changed even though the item is not active, lights and shadows do not react at all ... Of course I had reset the Application before I started the new version. The picture was taken by phone. I edited it a little bit in AP. I used Curves, Levels and Selective colour adjustment and, before I used a Sharpening macro by James Ritson. Below is the original one.

First off, a side-note for those of us who had invested in that route: I got a notification from Mister Retro that the Permanent Press and Machine Wash plug-ins will officially work with Affinity products. Personally I find this great news. If there are any bugs, it's that the preview window is zoomed in and frequently misses the thing where the retexturing is going to be applied, and it can't generate its own background layer. So while it works, it doesn't have full feature parity with Photoshop. But this is Affinity, and this is where we ask about Affinity products. So now I wonder... Affinity Photo has a place where you can tell it to look for these external graphical plug-ins, and it reads those two plug-ins reasonably well. Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher both have a Photo persona which do not have a similar place to put the plug-in locations for them to look. So, even when in the Photo persona of those other two applications, the plug-ins don't load. Is there something I'm overlooking in each app's preferences, or does that functionality just not exist yet? And if the latter, can we get it on a feature request list, please? -
Hi there: I have a question that I am curious about: I want to take seascapes that have all sorts of objects in them including people. The trouble that I am experiencing is that waves move. I have seen some ideas in other forums, but I don't that they are really going to work for me at this time, like long exposures to smooth the waves, dual cameras working at exactly the same time, and special lenses that can do very rapid wide-angle panos. None of these solutions really rock my boat at the moment - are there any other suggestions that anyone else may have found to work? I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks so much. -Michael 😄 -

Hi there: I am trying to stitch a panorama together with up to 10 images. I took the photos using the raw/jpeg setting on my Canon EOS1100D. I created them using manual settings, vertical camera plane, and made sure to have good overlap for each image. The problem that I am running into is that AP is splitting the image into two separate images after stitching the first four images, and then stitching the other six. I am not sure why it is doing this and I have tried both raw and jpeg versions of the images to no avail. I am using AP 1.10.6 on a MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.15.7 with 16Gigs of RAM. I would appreciate your help. Thanks. -Michael

This is my first attempt at using Affinity Designer so I am open to suggestions from experienced users. In the 1950's, PinBall machines were becoming very popular but machines surviving from that time either have been restored or the art-work on the cabinets has faded to different colours. I took a photo and corrected the perspective in Affinity Photo then moved to Designer to create a new design that closely matches the original. It took a huge effort in researching paint colours, RAL and Hex codes, how colours fade with time and exposure to sunlight so the result is my best educated guess at what the original appeared in 1958. The photo is of an original machine, unrestored paintwork. My research on paints fading is that the original colours wer Green, Red and Yellow, nbow faded to Blue, Pink and pale Yellow. My machine is a Williams Soccer Kick-Off and it is an on-going restoration project - I needed a subject to train myself that produced something that was required. This Document is of the Back-Box left-side (seen in the photo). I have also created Documents for the other parts of the cabinet. I am using RAL colours to match the paints available from my chosen supplier of spray paints. To see the original you need to make the 'Original Design' Layer Visible. I've only been using V2 for a while. Is there any reason at all why I should keep V1? Could there be any important presets or other content that I may have in it that didn't carry over and I should double-check? -
This is my first image using brushes digitally painting in Affinity Photo 2. Portrait of a Chinese Economist Keyu Jin, froze an image of her appearing on an internet found video program called "The Agenda". This would be my attempt to use that reference for this image. The second image here "Welcome to Vector Country" was a simple thing testing Affinity Designer.

In the Luminosity mask filter the opacity is always 1% for the presets. Also self created presets are set to opacity 1%. AP 2.1.1 MacOS Bildschirmaufnahme 2023-07-03 um 12.47.24.mov

A 2-shot focus merge working absolutely beautifully in creating a sharp image meeting my vision for the shot. I used luminosity masking to help in the edit - to separate water from reeds.

This my first artwork totally using Affinity Designer and Photo. I've converted from Adobe as I'm now retired and just producing pictures for my own pleasure (mainly motor racing). This is the late Carlos Pace's Martini Brabham BT45 at the German GP in 1976. Based on a photo by the brilliant Rainer Schlegelmilch.

Hi, I've noticed that Affinity Photo 2.0 and now 2.1 (and I checked v2.1.1) is not able to create the preview icon and the quick preview on Mac M1, once a DNG raw file has been tagged (whatever the metadata change) by Adobe Bridge. This doesn't happens on Mac Intel. This is not a direct bug of Photo interface, but how Photo decode the embedded JPEG on M1 macs. I'm sure Bridge has it's part of responsability too. How to proceed: Take a RAW file in DNG format. Open Adobe Bridge (any version works) Add a star or add keyword in the file. Close Adobe Bridge Open a Finder on an M1 machine, you should get this preview "imacbookpro m1.f.jpg". If you quick preview (spacebar), you get Affinity Photo icon) Open the same image on a Intel machine, you should get this preview "imac intel.f.jpg" I can provide the DNG images. But each are 15MB, let me know how I can best share. Hi Guys, So I clicked a Photo of somebody and he is not too happy about the Male Boobs that appears in this Picture. is there a way to reduce the bulging, protruding chest/breast of this Man ? He is is literally pleading me to to do something and reduce it using some trick or method. I used the Liquify Persona but it is not doing much. Any Help ?

Reproduction Steps Create a brush or pick existing one Set dynamics > flow jitter > 100% distance Set custom falloff to image attached draw line and watch the brush fade out set stabliser on and draw another line With step 5 you will see the issue. The line is far shorter so stabliser is messing up the dynamics calculations. These lines should be of equal distance, which they are not.

Hi all, I'm looking for a way to automatically import images in photo from a text list of URLs… just like the title says ! And even more, I wish I could mix that within a macro to (for example) export all the files with a given width and a new computed name. Also, I think I could do that with macOS shortcuts app but I've never used it so… if someone could help… I'd be very grateful ! Thanks Edit : it might also be done with a small python routine ??? -

I want to be able to view the Photos that I click in Full Screen in Landscape Mode on the iPad Pro. The 11" iPad Pro has a Display of 2388X1668 and the 12.9" has a display of 2732X2048. My question is, If I take Photos in any other ratio, can I resize the Photos in Affinity Photo to fit a Full Screen view on the iPad Pro ? for both these sizes ? If Yes, how can it be done ? When I say Full Screen, I literally mean Full screen with no gaps left when viewing in Landscape Mode in breadth and height aswell. What can I do ? TIA

Affinity photo crashes immediately on clicking “new layer” , “new layer with mask” or any of its sub categories from selections. eg: Selecting sky and adding a new layer with mask from selection crashes the software. It has to be reopened. And the entire work till then is lost.
