Hi All, For a number of months now behind the scenes we have been producing a workbook for Affinity Designer, and I'm pleased to let you know it is available from today! This is a big book - 448 pages, in hardback - and it includes fantastic projects created by some top designers, as well as a comprehensive reference to all our tools and panels, and a set of core skills tutorials. You can find more information about it here. Usual price is $49.99 / £37.99, but we are running a 20% discount for the launch making it only $39.99 / £29.99 (+ shipping and handling). It's worth pointing out that right now the book is only available in English but we do plan to do a German version which should be available towards the end of the year. Hope you like it! Thanks, Ash

It sometimes happens (not frequently). Note: I have all my drivers updated to the latest version. Hey, I tried to create some nature scenery this time. It's not entirely my idea/design because I used something I found online as inspiration but it was a good practice. Turned out those trees are not as easy as they seem. I am glad for any feedback!

Hello, I work in screenprinting and have a client who is asking for an end of the year order of t-shirts for a schools graduation. They want to fit the names of students inside the shape of the number "20". I'm not even sure if it's possible, but can I line up the text paths with the shape of the curves automatically? Or does it require each line to be individually shifted into position? (I've attached a sample image below.) I've searched the forums a bit for this issue, and haven't found many results. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Приветствую! Нашел старые зарисовки. Решил отрисовать их в Affinity Designer. Ранее я имел богатейший опыт использования AI и CorelDraw. В итоге получил громадное удовольствие. Все понятно и просто. Спасибо разработчикам. I welcome! Found old sketches. Decided to paint them in Affinity Designer. I previously had a wealth of experience using AI and CorelDraw. As a result, I got huge pleasure. Everything is clear and simple. Thanks to developers.

Hi I have trouble saving a copy of my affinity designer file (.afdesign) into Dropbox as the Dropbox icon has disappeared overnight. I was able to do it before but this morning, the icon doesn't show. I can export share into Dropbox though but as a jpeg, pdf, tiff etc. Anybody encountered this problem? Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

With Affinity Designer I first export the project to to an EPS file. Then I import it into Adobe Illustrator to adjust the resulation. From Illustrator I save it to an ai file. Then I go into After Effects and import the ai file. In After Effects I drag the ai file into the timeline and then I click on create and then create shape from vector Layer. Now my next problem is when I create a text (or several) which are converted into vector shapes. Actually, I wanted all the text to be editable in After Effects so I don't have to move or replace every single letter. In Adobe XD the text is still editable when I import it into After Effects... To my question, is there a more elegant solution to this problem?

Well it's THAT time of year again, and there's no avoiding it... This month, create something related to the holiday season. This could be a photo of a Christmas Tree or a Christmas lights display, a wintry landscape, your dog in a Santa hat etc. If you're looking for an extra challenge, try to work in some unusual angles or experiment with depth of focus. When posting, if you can, please also write a sentence of two on the editing techniques you used or the filters you applied, so that we can learn from each other. Alternatively, create something in Designer or Publisher that expresses 'December'. This could be a holiday greeting card, a gift-wrapped box, Santa's reindeers crossing a starry sky, etc etc. If your style is more 'Christmas Grinch' than 'Santa's Little Helper' (no judgement here), create a photo or piece of art that channels 'Mid-winter', or 'the shortest day'. (Apologies to people in the Southern Hemisphere - maybe you could do the longest day and make us northies jealous of your fine weather!) We had some gorgeous pics last month, and I hope more of you can find the time to join in again. Let's see what you've got!

Hey there :-) A tried to make a decent transit map for the Sidney light rail network that actually shows connections to other modes of transportation. Also included the soon to be Parramatta light line in a separate diagram. Have fun and great New Year 2020 :-) Constructive feedback is appreciated and welcome! Chris :-)

Hello everybody, Studio link not working in affinity Photo and Designer. Both apps are purchased from the affinity website. Both apps are updated and I'm using Mac OS Catalina which is also the latest version. Both apps are a clean install. I also try downloading the trial version of affinity publisher and for some reason only the affinity publisher has the studio link option. I've attached a screenshot which shows the three interfaces. Can anyone please help?

While working on a file, having both the "Colour" and "Swatches" panels open, I thought both offer a fair amount of wasted white space. Secondly I thought "why are these two panels separate anyways?". Both utilities compliment each other, complimentary colour pun intended, and it would clear up the UI a bit more for users with preference for minimal opened panels and/or smaller screens. Why not split the revised Colour panel into two columns: colour wheel/meters/editing components on the left-hand side, and the swatches on the right. I've made a quick, rough mockup of this as attached.
