I cannot get my pixels brush to paint anything in affinity designer. What am I doing wrong? I have the latest version 7.1. I have Windows 10 with plenty of space and ram, so that isn't the problem. I am new to this software, so I may be doing something wrong. Rosalie Scanlon

Does anybody know how I can scale my Objects with strokes and gradients percentually so they doo't look messed up after scaling them? I don't mean proportional just percentual so I don't have to adjust gradients & strokes. Many thanks in advance

Is there a way to change which node in the red end node in a closed object? I am using some of the natural brush tools and would like to control where the "distressed" end of the stroke appears. I had it all planned out and then changed the layering and joined some objects and everything moved. Thanks - Heather

Something happened a few weeks ago and either designer stopped working or it crashed and now I cannot get it to run on my Mac. I even tried deleting the app and re-installing. I get the boot splash then it gets an exception. Is there some other file I should look at deleting or help with why it will not start? We often get questions from customers who are creating designs in Affinity Designer to be used with a Cricut cutting machine. As long as your document is setup correctly in Affinity Designer it should import into the Cricut Design Space app without any issues: Make sure your document is set 72 DPI The Cricut Design Space app will take all layers within your document and reorder them before cutting to prevent material wastage. If your design has multiple Curve Layers but you want to retain the layout of your document, you will need to merge all the separate Curve Layers into one Curve Layer. Select all the Curve Layers and go to Layer > Geometry > Merge Curves The Cricut Design Space app will push all layers within your document to the edge of the material when cutting. Again, this is to prevent material wastage. If you would like to add padding around your document, you can add a Rectangle Layer around your Curve Layers before merging all Curves into one layer We advise that you export to SVG, being sure to uncheck SetViewBox (under the 'More...' options) to ensure the correct size of the design is retained. If you've done all of the above and your design doesn't look correct when opened into the Cricut Design Space app, we suggest that you open the exported SVG into another app to see if it looks as expected. If it looks fine, this would indicate an issue with the Cricut Design Space app and we would suggest that you contact Cricut's support team to look into your issue further.

I think it's a bug with the artboard sizes. Every time I try to export the selected artboard, it changes its dimension by adding/subtracting 1-2 pixels, which I need to set manually. that's quite irritating. This is happening with all the artboards. Check out the screenshot below where it shows the actual size of the artboard bottom right vs the size it prompts on export panel.

Hey! So for some reason both my Designer and Photo show whites as yellows. I cannot fix this and I definitely know it isn't a problem with my monitor since I can clearly see the photos I edit as normal before importing them into Photo. Also, in Designer, the empty background is white, but the white brush is not. Please help. Thanks! Examples:

Hello, I ran into a real workflow problem and googling around for hours hasn't brought up any solution. I want to select only a part of the paths an object contains. Not all of them. It seems so basic but I am desperate and can't figure it out. My workflow in illustrator ist: draw with the blobbrush, delete the inner Path and am left with a shape. // In Affinity Designer I can draw and convert my strokes to shapes and join them instead of the blobbrush. With complex shapes I always seem to be able to only select parts point by point or by drawing a complex lasso-selection. Both are not a solution since I can end up with too many points to select that way. Thanks for any help! Here's an image to help clear it up more:

Hi team, just reporting a bug which I have been experiencing for a while now. This error happens often and randomly - when going to File > place > my images will not show. I have to exit the entire program and restart it to go to the same folder for the images to show for placement. hopefully can be fixed soon as it interrupts workflow thanks!

Thought I would share this story, not sure if there is much of a call for this type of content nowadays. This intro story is inspired by my partial play through of RED Dead Redemption 2 on PC. I have used the setting for the story from the game where I then did a photo shoot taking pictures from inside the game world and then enhancing them using Affinity Photo and Designer. Buenas, llevo poco en Affinity y aunque es genial, vengo de Illustrator y tengo formas de trabajar diferentes. Me está volviendo loco el editar SVG o la forma que tiene de ejecutar la Geometría (lo que en Illustrator sería Buscatrazos). Quiero poder tener por separado los algunos elementos que están dentro de un objeto pero no logro la forma, también recortar un relleno y eliminar otro pero soy incapaz, creo que con vídeo que adjunto me explico un poco mejor.
