I started producing this mag some years ago in Page plus then progressed to Scribus, Xara and now to Affinity. it is published on line and is free to view. SEW is a region of the embroiderers guild which is a charity. This is my first attempt with Affinity. It took me a while to get the hang of the persona and I still have a lot to learn but I found it very intuitive and and the design programme easy to use. Hello, thank you in advance for your help! Here's my problem: whenever I move, scale, rotate, or delete one instance of a symbol, that change applies to all instances of that symbol. I avoid it by using the layer panel to select the symbol I want to transform, instead of selecting it directly in the artboard. Additionally, this seems to be specific to this one file; in a different file I am able to transform one instance of a symbol without it affecting the rest. Is there a setting or something that I can turn off to stop this? I attached a screen capture of the issue. Each of the orange spheres is a symbol. I was unable to attach my affinity file. Every time I tried to upload the file it would start to upload, pause, and then give a pop-up box saying "-200", and then show that the upload failed. Having an issue in Designer where text spaces are exceptionally wide. See image. This is one of those issues that occur sometimes. It seems to appear and go away. I figure I mistakenly hit some mysterious keyboard combination that causes it to come and go. Any idea what causes this and how I can I can fix this? Clarification: I am not referring to the tracking between the letters but the extra large space between JACKSON and HOLE. That is a single space.

How can I create in Designer, the equivalent of the "Envelope" feature which used to exist in Serif DrawPlus? I understand the Node tool works on shapes, but it does not seem to work on text. Please advise. Thanks, AC

XP-PEN G640 6x4 inch or the XP-PEN Star03 Drawing Tablet 12 inch with 8 Hot Keys The G640 is £40 and the Star03 is £45 for the next few hours. I would largely be using this in Designer, however never using a drawing tablet before I'm wondering which is the best. The latter of the two has a significantly larger work space which I'm assuming is worth the £5 extra. Could anyone who has drawing tab experience give me some pointers? -
Hi there. I'm wanting to start giving my drawing colour but not sure where to start. I think i need to join up some of the lines, but not sure what the most effective method is. I have pretty much drawn what i have seen using the pen tool, and not sure how to start adding colour. There are a few "open" lines which have not been closed. How would you tackle colouring this?

As the new project for training and as just fun, I plan to recreate in Affinity Designer some objects or characters from cartoons or comic books from my childhood. Nothing specially serious. It doesn't have to be perfect and I also allow myself to do some minor changes in original designs. First project being created after hours of my regular job is coming from Disney's cartoon Tale Spin - it's seaplane "Seaduck" which was used by great pilot Baloo. Project isn't finished yet, but I've decided to share it. I know that shadows, details and some other things could be better, but for now it's just concept of the overall idea, and for sure will be still improved in spare time

Gooh boy. Newbie here, attempting this tutorial and it's not going... great. Lol. Trying to wrap my brain around the pen tool. I wanted my car fender to come out like this: But it came out like this: Two questions: What is the simplest way to fix the kink in the top left of the vendor - other than to redraw it? Similarly, the right lower part of the vendor is fatter than I wanted. Is there a quick way to slim it up? Thank you!

Hi, so I really like affinity designer! It's easy to create vector stuff and it's very fun to use. But, performance is not there (in my opinion) There is a slight lag when you move the items which is very annoying And some weird blurry lines as you zoom in or out. My PC Specifications: I7 - 7700 geforce gtx 1050 16 Gigabyte RAM Samsung SSD 850 evo 250GB Windows version is 2004 i'm on the free trial version Here is an example of what I was talking about any fix to this is next update?? pleas help me this is the only thing that stops me to get this program😒 2020-07-01_15-54-08.mkv -
hello, i have used affinity suite almost for 2 months, but i really found a very big vacuum , it is just a shape builder tool,a lot of designers told you that includes me,so can you add it or just tell us that you have a plan to add it in the future ? because i am really finding a big problems working with logos using AD , even of that AD is specialized on designing logos,and i am sure that many designer if not all are facing the same problem ,so please try to make it the main plan for AD , because it is the only thing that me and a lot of designer need that fast,i am facing a lot of issues using the basic geometric operations,until i really forgot it because it became useless most times,i really appreciate your efforts for developing such as this great software,but we really need the shape builder tool as soon as possible,finally,this is one of 100000 problems that always facing me using geometric operation,thanks Desktop 2020.07.09 - 15.53.08.07.mp4 t. -
Hi all I’m in a position to get a PC to start photo editing and design type work. Will the following Intel NUC with Windows 10, 16GB RAM plus SSD/2.5” hard drive combo be good enough to run the Affinity trio efficiently? Intel NUC nuc5i5ryh I can’t seem to find a definitive spec list needed to run the programs but the small form factor is really appealing. I’m not a gamer so the only other things I’ll be doing on the machine is internet browsing, streaming (Netflix, iPlayer, iTunes, Spotify etc), Blu Ray watching (via an external drive), and MS Office as and when needed. Hi Everyone Am unable to locate the Artboard Tool in Affinity Designer. Has this tool been removed? I can create an artboard using Doc Setup. Can also select the artboard that gets created and duplicate into a new artboard and rename. However the actual Tool within toolbox is missing.

I downloaded the demo version of ‘Mr Orange’ from https://www.fontspring.com/fonts/hipopotam/mr-orange and used Florian Schimanke’s AnyFont to generate a configuration profile which I installed via the Settings app, but although the font displayed correctly within Settings it didn’t show up on the font list in either AD or APh. I therefore removed the profile and installed the font via ‘Preferences > Fonts’ in each of the two Affinity apps, but it still didn’t become available for use. Any suggestions for resolving the issue would be gratefully received.

Had another go at a vector. It's not finished (bumper needs a bit of work) and as usual probably not graphically correct with lighting shadows etc. I find that stuff hard to do. The only bits that aren't vectors are the 2 windows. I thought it looked better this way looking into the van & seeing the seats & back windows. My first posted work here Yamaha MX Bike

I am using an XP-Pen Deco01 (V01) graphic tablet, which has been working perfectly for me with basically any app. I already updated the driver, and it didn't solve the problem. So my problem is that I can't get the stylus pressure to work in any of the tools in Affinity Designer. It's like the software doesn't even see my stylus as a pen, it works exactly the same as a mouse. I tried disabling using Windows Ink, but then it didn't even see my tablet at all. Actually I'm very new to the software, but I tried to play around with brush settings, searched a few tutorials, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas what can be wrong and how to fix it? -
Text usage is very slow. If I use a text frame, after less than a paragraph it starts to slow down -- I type in text and it takes a moment or two to show up on the screen. It gets slower as I integrate more text. Slightly worse with artistic text. Affinity Designer Version: 1.8.3.641 (recent install) OS: Windows 10 [10.0.18363.778] Video card: Radeon RX 570 (in case it helps) OS was recently installed, with minimal number of fonts installed. Same issue even on a clean boot with no other applications running. Strange: I have a dual-screen setup -- when I use the second screen for the dockers (I would like to have this setup) the problem is MUCH worse. Note my main screen is landscape and my second screen is portrait orientation. This is not very much text. I realize for many pages of text this would be the wrong application and that might be an issue but this is just a few paragraphs, that might appear on any number of flyers, info sheets, etc. Any ideas are much appreciated!

Hello! I would love to use Affinity Designer for in our workplace. However, until certain features are in place, it would be impossible to do so. Will you be adding more "special" features to Designer in the future that compares to Illustrator? -
This may have been asked before but does APhoto & ADesigner support WEBP files? or will they? -
Sketched in Procreate and finished in Designer on iPad (I’d use Photo, but the touch gesture paste isn’t working...). Looking at uploading a process video soon

Hello, I am preparing some templates panels (eg 4x2) and I am stuck in the decision on what to do, because I want to use the ability of Designer to create artboards and export them at once with different names; but at the same time I would like to have the ability to place `picture frames` in my template, so I can be sure that the pictures I add have the same dimensions. I tried to make the template in Publisher, but then the `picture frame` is editable only once if I open the same file with Designer -- so, if I make a mistake and need to insert the picture again the `picture frame` would not be there. On the other way, if I make the template in Designer, and open it in Publisher I have to add the `picture frame` one by one, and export all the artboards one by one. tl:dr: What would be the best way make a template where you can have `picture frames` to add pictures in different artboards, and export the artboards with one click? Hello affinity community, i work on photos creating vectors from the colors of the photo. Super cool effects. Eventually i find lots of palette's get accumulated in swatches. Any way to delete mass palette??? rather than one by one Thanks. -
hello, I am a new user in affinity, I made a design to be uploaded to freepik but I have a problem in .eps because the file size does not meet the criteria. is there a way to increase the file size? and what is meant by eps in cc is affinity support that?Thank you for your advance! -
Wondering if everyone has issue with screen-sharing (multiwindow) support being absent? Could have sworn I was using this in previous (pre-1.8.3) versions. Serif, care to weigh in? -
Hi! My Mac’s system language is set to Korean, but for some reason the Mac App Store versions of both Affinity Photo and Designer (v1.8.3) run in Japanese. (The Affinity store version of Publisher runs in English as you’d expect if there’s no Korean localization.) I understand both so it's not a critical problem for me personally, but switching mental gears all the time is weird. Might want to fix this? :)
