  1. I have the last windows version of publisher and I even downloaded the beta version to see if the latest version was updated with this problem but not luck. I have tried several .csv files formats even ones that I have used with adobe InDesign in the past and all the text works perfectly but not luck with the images. 2021-03-01_21-56-43_1.mp4 info.csv
  2. This is my latest poem as a tribute to the late Captain Sir Thomas Moore. The image was turned into a cartoon using the GMIC extension in Affinity Photo. The poem was written in LibreOffice and imported into Affinity Publisher. Good Knight, Captain Tom
  3. I am new to Affinity products. Currently need help with Publisher. I have the following questions; Why cant I do a search in the forum only for help on Publisher? Where can I find a tutorial on resizing picture frames & rounding corners in Publisher? Where can I find a tutorial on using tables in Publisher?
  4. Hi everyone, I am completely new to Publisher; I never used illustrator. I bought publisher because I wanted to support Serif, but I am wondering if I can use it to replace what I am doing in Adobe Acrobat. I currently use Acrobat Pro to create print ready PDFs of comic books. I really dont need any other acrobat functions and am trying to ditch it. Typically, I will generate a CMYK .tiff with the resolution/dpi desired, then import these into Acrobat. Acrobat takes on the res/DPI of the tif files and just assembles it into a PDF for me. Can Publisher do this? My main obstacle is that I don't see how to import images. I can manually open a tif in Publisher using right click, but besides that I am stuck when I want to add more pages. If I go to Document > Add Pages from File it greys out my tif files. I also have Designer, so if I am using the wrong solution here I am always open to ideas 🙂
  5. I cannot seem to find a way to solve my problem. I made a shape in Apub and inserted some text in the shape. In Affinity Publisher you have the option through "Text frame" panel to change fill and stroke color of the shape. I now would like to add a brush to the stroke of the text frame but Brushes are not available in Publisher. No problem I think! I use the studiolink to ADesigner, but here there is no option of "Text frame panel". And I cannot figure out how to change either fill color or stroke color/type/brush of the shape that the text is embedded in, in Designer? The curios thing is I can make the shape in Designer. Select fill and stroke color/brush style. As soon as you use the text tool and write/insert text in the shape - I have no idea how to change the fill/color of the original shape. The only fill and stroke color I am able to change is that of the text. The appearance panel is no help in either program. So there are two things I would like to know: Either: add a brush to the stroke of the text frame in APub or, being able to add/change color and brush of fill/stroke of text frame in Designer. Anyone know how to do it? What panel or menu have I not been able to find?.... Thanks in advance The first image is from Designer /(studiolink) - the second from Publisher
  6. Hi All ... Normally I can quickly search and find what i"m looking for, but I'm not sure what to ask for this one. My project is Multiple Greeting Cards with both Front/Back & Insides.I have 4 card sizes included in my file. I set up sections for each card, named the section the size and made a section just for my thank you note I also made sure the pages started back at 1. When I export to PDF, I select Crop Marks and Page Information. However, I need the Page Information at the top of each "PDF page" to show the File name, Section name and Page Number of the Section. I cannot include the information on the cards, it would look odd. Is this possible??

  8. Hello, I am using Affinity Photo, Designer & Publisher version 1.9.0.932 on a Windows 10 machine. No matter in which programme...I save my own shortcuts, work in the respective programme...save my documents...close the programme...when I restart, my shortcuts are gone again and only the standard shortcuts are active. What can I do to load my own shortcuts automatically? Thanks for any information on how to solve this problem.

Hi, When I group several text frames together or a text frame together with another object, the text inside the text frame loses its formatting, more precisely, it becomes way larger, resulting in 'overflowing text frame' error in preflight. This happens almost all the time with well adjusted text frames that don't have extra space around the text. Is this a bug, or am I missing something obvious? Thanks!
  12. Hi, What's the trick to creating a table of contents with links? I saw in another thread that 'Allow advanced features' has to be clicked when exporting the PDF. But even though I have 'Allow advanced features' clicked, the TOC is still not clickable. Also, the header right before the TOC (the one that says 'Table of contents') is automatically included in the TOC even though 'Include entries before TOC' is not checked in the Studio panel... Thanks!

Hi Everyone I really am having a lot of coordination problems between Designer and Publisher... maybe I have got conceptually the wrong end of the stick but I cannot find any good tuturials on how they interact with one another. In this specific problom I have designed an object in Designer... it is a simple rectangluar sign 100mm x 100mm I just want to copy this into a page in Publisher,, so naturally I copy it in Designer , Paste in the Publisher on a page... To my shock reverything gets resized,, in this case smaller [24 x24mm ] what in hell is going on???? in both cases the document / file units are set as mm and in both files the page size is A3 is is a basic bug... Yes, I could build the design in Publisher using the Designer persona... [In fact, that is the workflow I am persueing , but I have a lot of artwork already in Designer.. Interestingly, when i copy/paste form Publisher to Designer the size is respected, no change happens???? Actually, I expected the Studiolink between Publisher and Designer to be the same as between Publisher and photo,, it definately does not! Frankly, I expected to be able to insert a designer file into publisher [as a link] and have it editable and dynamically updated regardless of which app I worked in... At the moment I cannot even reliably COPY / PASTE between them PS, I don't have a problem with scaling that I can control ,, eg it would be good if I can take a full size design in Designer and insert/link it as a smaller scale object in publisher... but I need to have explicit control of that scaling This is how most CAD drafting packages operate! All affinity software are the latest reelases , W10 latest patch
  14. Hi there Just installed Publisher on my Windows 10 PC. It crashes instantly when opening .aps files (created on a MAC) and creating any New Document rendering the software totally useless. I've restarted several times and refreshed the cache. See attached for crash reports. Hi, Every time I copy some text from one document to another, the text style of the old document is copied as a new text style in the new one, even though the styles have the same name and their settings are identical. Example: when I copy text from document A to document B, while initially they both have the same identical text style 'Title', once text is copied to document B, document B ends up having text styles 'Title' and 'Title 1' ('Title 1' used to be 'Title' in document A and by copying it to document B it got duplicated and renamed). Is there a way to merge the 2 text styles either at the moment of copying or afterwards? I don't want to end up with so many text styles and a messy looking text style panel. Thanks!
  16. Hi, I am an architecture student and new to affinity. I use it to give my plans a nice finish. Due to Covid we are supposed to submit our projects as PDF files. Unfortunately the uploads are limited to 50MBs. So when we exported out last project in lower quality to meet the document size parts of our construction details (imported as PDFs) were not visible at all. Because it was a group project I was working on another elevation and sent it to my team mate after exporting it from affinity photo. That particular elevation was very clear on our final print and one was able to see all the details even though it was a bigger file and smaller scale than the construction details. Is there something I can do the get as great results for all parts of the dokument without making the file larger?

  18. I set up a new document (say) A4, units inches, margin 0.5in single page, and I set this as a user preset. If I now go to A4 to set up another preset, I again have to set measurements to inches, and margin to 0.5 etc etc There seem to be nowhere for me to store my publisher wide preferences, namely inches, margins etc. Why is this?
  19. Created this palette as I'm yet to set any colours for print as RGB/HSL 🧐 Palette simply contains C/M/Y/K at 100% plus some rich and super blacks Default-CMYK.afpalette
  20. Hi, after the last update, the Buttom align or Justify vertically commands in the toolbar don't work anymore for text placed in tables. Am I missing something or is this a bug?
  21. I think I may be missing something really simple. I have a document where the same text is repeated on many pages. (it's a manual so the name of the client will appear 100 times, for example). I want to use the data merge so that the <company name> text throughout the document is populated with the data from the spreadsheet column/row without having to double click in the fields data merge for every instance. Is this possible? In otherwords, every time <company name> appears in the document the data in column 4 row 4 replaces it. Thanks.

  23. I have just finished converting my pageplus files with mail merge, into publisher files with data merge. I have to say I am very impressed with this feature. It outperforms the old version in so many ways. In both cases I used an excel spreadsheet as the data source. But with the latest version, you can change the source on the fly and it appears in the data merge. Serif, I have always been a fan of your old plus series, but you can add multiple feathers in your cap for the latest set of programs.
