Hey all I've been working on a comic for the last few months and now that I'm posting episodes on Webtoon I figured I'd share it with the community here. The panel in the post is from what'll be episode 11 or 12. I'm really happy with how this one turned out. I do all the inking and most of the flatting in Procreate on my iPad Pro (just upgraded from the 9.7 inch Pro to the new 12.9!) then I bring it into Affinity Photo and do all the colour work. Sometimes I'll make a few vector objects in Designer. I've been doing all the lettering in Publisher. I am wanting to save my color palettes as system palettes and in the windows version I do not have that option. I'm also finding it virtually impossible to export the color palettes that I have created for the customer to have that is a separate file that can be opened by any other software. I'm very new to Affinity and designing, your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I just bought Designer and I have a question. I have two custom shapes, one above the other, fill and stroke. Stroke settings: "allign to inside" When I zoom in, I can see a line appear (see example) This line disappears when I set my strokesettings to: "align to centre" but then, my sharp points are gone. What setting am I missing to fix this?

Hi all, I was wondering on MacOS what happens with the update installation files with the automatic update after they are installed? Are they automatically deleted or they remain on the hard drive? Thanks

affinity softwares don't know the location of the opened files! because of this, I can't connect eg. 3d softwares to Affinity as external editor, because after it opens up the file, for example a psd, it can't resave to the original location, because affinity doesn't know it, and the 3d application also doesn't add info about the location of these temporary files. So I stand here with a temporary file, and I can't save it back.

A select similar is a must for me. Need a select tool to select similar items according to : color fill, color stroke, stroke width. When working on large imported file it's a must. Also when I need to recolor an artwork from a Pantone color to another. The Select similar function is basic from Illustrator since...

Dear Serif Ltd, My name is Jonathan Kolomoni and I am a 29 year old, Belgian, All-round Creative. I love the fact that you've created a software that is accessible to so many other creatives around the world. I send you much appreciation for that. On the other hand I would love to give you an advice on a feature you may add to one of your future updates: Affinity Designer; Could you allow vector drawing shapes or paths to be having a different selection-colour when selecting the drawn shape? That would be awesome. I happen to be quite limited to my colouring cause I always draw all my shapes before I colour-fill them individually. Affinity Video (Proposition); - Could you guys create a software that would allow us to edit video with the vector shapes or paths drawn into Affinity Designer? - Could you guys also create a feature than enables Rotoscoping existing images and video in order to animate captured video fragments into some sort of vector or cartoon-style? I’m not a programmer myself, but I think you guys would definitely be able to develop these ideas and would be able to use them into your advantage. Please let me know if you're considering this mail. I’d love to know what you guys think!

I'm on Windows10 desktop. I have been trying to create some new patterns and had added some brushes strokes as they were too pixelated when opened in Affinity Photo. But the brush strokes don't show up when exported them as png. I need the backgrounds to be transparent so jpg won't work. I tried rasterizing them prior to export but didn't work either.I thought maybe an update would help but the 1.8.2 won't open - I've redownloaded it but not go there. Is there a trick to it or do pngs not work with brush strokes. I don't remember this as a problem before. Thanks for any help.

Edit in Photo (File menu) has disappeared from the beta versions of Designer and Publisher. Should it be there?

Affinity Designer v1.8.2 on Mac Create a new document and draw something Click in the menu bar: View -> New View Now there are two window tabs but only one window is visible and active Is there a way to view both windows side by side? I can't undock any of them from the tab bar in order to rearrange them NOTE: That Window -> Separated Mode shows the windows but also show the desktop of my Mac as background and the tool panels scrambled I also want to see two documents opened side by side.

Hey! Ever wondered what would happen if RER and BART would have fallen in love? Here is a possible result of such a love story! This map is obviously influenced and inspired by early RER map design by Rudi Meyer although I have pushed and developed it a bit further. Hello, I want to create a new icon asset with different categories. As of today the library (https://github.com/Templarian/MaterialDesign/https://materialdesignicons.com) contains about 5200 svgs which I want to import automatically. At this scale, Affinity designer does stop working on windows with the drag-and-drop feature, so I am searching for a new way to import the icons. Is there a tool which can create an afasset-file with automated sub-categories, renaming of the asset names and more? Can we create the files manually? Is there a document with the file content structure? Any other idea? Thanks in advance.

Every time I change to anther brush and go back to the last brush used, the size resets to default. Is there a way to maintain the size of the brush? To maintain the size, I have to leave the brush properties open and change the size from there 😕.

hello, to all just wondering, I have purchased all three apps for the desktop and also would like to put them on my laptop, do I have to buy them again or will I be able to download them again onto this laptop

Newbie here! I'm wanting to increase the width of all lines (but not all the same width). How should I be approaching this? I got as far as creating a new file and pasting the image into it and converting it to a Curve. When I apply the stroke option and use the width tool it only increases the outside edges of the file - does not affect any of the lines in the image. Could someone give a process for achieving this?

Hello everyone, I got a problem with Affinity Designer today, it started to suddenly crash like every 10 seconds and could only display this error reference: (see picture). Anyone know why?

One amazingly effective command in Photoshop and Photo is Edit -> Fade (PS) or Layer -> Fade (AP). Whatever effect or brush you just applied can be reduced. Sometimes you overdid fx the colors or contrast. Sometimes you made a little error. You fade it to fx 70% and it looks correct. You can also fade and change blend mode. Much better and effective than undoing and re-applying. When working with the paint brush tool and pixel brushes in the Pixel Persona it happens very often that I miss this fade feature. It is very hard to predict the result. Same feature in Affinity Photo:

Good Afternoon, Can someone please tell me if there is a function to remove a background from a picture in Affinity? I've searched and see nothing, unless I'm missing it. I use remove.bg at this time, but I'm hopeful I can accomplish the same in Affinity! Thank you!!!

Just downloaded the new 1.8.3 beta - testing out the improved boolean geometry. I created several complex stroke overlays and then selected all and expanded - all went well with that. When I hit divide, the top negative space filled in. I went back and tried again with the same result. I know the divide boolean is still being worked on - just trying to do my part to help get it where it needs to be. thanks! divide causes fill.afdesign

Hey there! I'm not sure what to call my issue so it's a little hard to google it myself. When I use the brush tool in Designer 1.8.3 beta, the line does not stay exactly where I put it - it alters itself ever so slightly.... I'm sure it's related to the amount of give and take in the brush properties... Is there a way to make it stay true to the path I put it on?

This doesn't count as drawing as it's so easy and just a bit of fun 😉I keep meaning to do some classic mac icons but updated however I'm not sure what style to do them. Coloured versions of the originals or more fancy (anti-aliased) /skeuomorphic. Today I was messing around with just one, the Mac, which seemed like a sensible one to start on. The first is the System 1 style which came, unsurprisingly, with the first mac's the 128k and then 512k. It was a challenge to do 😂All the icons were monochrome which makes sense as so were the screens. The second is just a recolour of the first just to see if it looked ok or not. The 3rd is system 7 style, they showed them grey for some reason, probably low colour. Then the final one is a skeuomorphic one. I didn't bother with system 9 as they went 3d by then and aren't particularly pretty. Also I think they dropped the classic mac icons by then as the power macs had replaced them. I might do some more as even doing some skeuomorphic style ones aren't exactly taxing.
