  1. When creating a shape with an inside border, if you include content inside this shape, the included content bleeds on the fringe (see captures).
  2. The addition of the recent fonts at the top of the font list in Affinity Designer 1.4 is great when you have just a couple of fonts you're using for a project and you need to switch between them. However, I've found it gets in the way when I'm in the early phase of choosing fonts to use. If I'm auditioning fonts, going through my font collection methodically, I lose my place each time I select something new. I can't use the keyboard to jump back by typing the font name either, because it jumps to the recents at the top. A potential solution would be to always start back at the current
  3. I've been using Affinity designer to make maps for a novel I'm working on. As one would imagine, it is quite time-consuming to draw a properly jagged coastline. What would make easier is if you could draw fractal lines, curves, and shapes like in ProFantasy's app Campaign Cartographer 3. I have attached a mock-up of some examples of what I have in mind for Affinity Designer's equivalent. Firstly, unlike CC3, AD's bézier handles and corner tool would make fractal curves and corners far more versatile. As with the corner tool, fractal lines could be "baked" for more precise node editing
  4. Hello all! Today was a double collapse affinity designer, the first time you work with a palette of CMIK (message of the fall sent automatically to Apple) for the second time when dealing with fonts. Here is information about the error to work with fonts Process: Affinity Designer Beta [544] Path: /Applications/Affinity Designer Beta.app/Contents/MacOS/Affinity Designer Beta Identifier: com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner.beta Version: 1.4.2 [beta 1] ( Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: ??? 5. I really like “Continuous export” feature and today I have another reason to love it. I’ve installed Skala preview on my Mac and Skala View on iOS. Then, in Export persona, I’ve created a slice from a layer enabling the continuous export. Dragging on Skala preview the exported file, I get a precise live view of my changes in Affinity Designer (or Photo) :)

  8. Hello, here is my first achievements Affinity Designer as a crazy fan of vector
  9. I think I’m finally done with my latest drawing, The Streetcar Boat. In 1905 there were streetcars that went from Minneapolis to the shore of Lake Minnetonka, but the people living around Lake Minnetonka needed a way to continue to their homes. So a set of 6 steam boats were built to resemble streetcars. These boats added 27 more stops to the streetcar line. In 1926 the 6 boats were deemed no longer necessary and were scuttled in the middle of the lake. In 1979 a diver found the wreck of the Minnehaha and it was raised. After 17 years of restoration it was put back in service on weeke
  10. Hello... So I've been encountering inconsistent export behavior that doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it and it gets SOO friggin frustrating to never know from one instant to the next how Affinity Designer is going to decide to behave - it's incredibly disruptive to my workflow especially since it seems to change every time. Have seen this for at least a couple releases now. Currently on 1.4.1 as updated from the MAS. What I'm experiencing: When I have an artboard selected within a document with multiple artboards and I go to File > Export..., sometimes the export mechani
  11. Affinity Designer v1.4.1 bug: Exporting the attached file to SVG results in a rectangle instead of a bezier curve. Best regards trho broken_svg_export_designer_1.4.1.afdesign
  12. Hi, I don't know much about package design and the requirements there, only that professional software (e.g. esko, Packz) seem to be PDF based, with PDF beeing the prepress format used to exchange dielines and designs and for print if I'm not mistaken. Is it possible to produce such PDF deliverables with AD that I could send to a manufacturer for my product packaging? Is here anybody with experience in the field? What would you do? What I have in mind is something like this: The manufacturer send me dielines of his packaging options as PDF, and I design the package in AD, and s
  13. Hello... I have to admit that I've gotten to the point where I am preparing to migrate all my work back to Adobe Illustrator after being a fan of Affinity Designer from the beginning - I purchased it from the MAS, was impressed immediately and quickly adopted it as my daily graphic design tool, replacing Illustrator (even though my company pays for Adobe CC for me). But over the last few months, Affinity Designer is becoming increasingly unusable - so many bugs and I don't have time to log in here and report them all. I'm usually far too swamped with projects and it's bad enough I've had t
  14. Latest offering created in Affinity Designer and finished off in Affinity Photo...i'm really liking this software!
  15. Here's a time-lapse of me creating a new comic-style drawing. Mistakes and back-pedalling included. Final result: Authoring file: Enjoy!
  16. I'm using the trial version of Affinity Designer, so I'm very new to the app. I was trying to save a modified jpg as a new project. After I clicked Save, the app stopped responding, and the cursor changed to beachball. While the app was beachballing, something ate all my remaining disk space, which I think was 20-30 gigs or so. The bitmaps I used in the project couldn't have taken anything near that much space. Before saving I had created a fill layer on a layer group, so this might have something to do with the crash. I was also able to reproduce the beachball freeze using a fill layer o
  17. I have taken a crisp screen shot for a tutorial and want to edit it in Affinity Designer. But when I open the png in Affinity the image quality is noticeably degraded. If I upload straight to Wordpress the quality is even worse. The image size is 963 × 843 and the width of the area I'm placing it on my blog is 780. (If I resize the image down to 780 and upload to WP the quality is worse than leaving it at 963 ???) I don't understand why both Affinity and WP are degrading the quality of the image. I've attached a screen shot of the original image open in Preview next to the same image open

  20. First off, this is not a bug in that the application is *wrong*, simply that IMHO it doesn't meet the users expectation and can lead to "bad files' with lots of duplicate objects, etc. In Affinity Designer if you drag to copy either by `alt` or `command` + click and drag, the object you selected will be copied in to the place you have moved it to. However, if you then do `command` + `z` or Undo, the action of moving the object is undone, but the act of copying is not. There is now 2 identical objects overlaying each other, and theres no good way to tell. This can lead to lots of sneak
  21. Dear Affinity Team, I love your application - it's just fantastic. Infinitely better than anything Adobe has contributed to the software market (and I have Adobe software). It is my preferred graphics editor hands down! I have been working on a few documents recently that are very large, with many elements, that I am tweaking for someone else after they paid for them to be created commercially. Unfortunately, the company that created the document didn't group or layer it very well. It's nigh on impossible to tweak the file without spending ages looking at each individual element. W

  23. Not an original illustration of mine but all line-work and coloring done in vectors with Aff Designer. All vectors used vector brushes and created a soft vector brush for shading. Updated a couple of things... shading lines etc
  24. Hello From Canada!! I'm excited to announce that I have finally completed my epic puzzle platformer "Big Fun". I'm posting a gameplay video below and would love to hear your thoughts on the finished game. All of the artwork was done with Affinity Designer. Using scalable images really helped me out a lot. and Affinity designer is my preferred Vector Artwork program some really fabulous things can be accomplished with affinity even with limited artistic skills.
