  1. Well ! The title says it all, Affinity Publisher is missing/lacking of the essential Export Persona. On a workflow like mine where i use Affinity Photo to process everything pixel, Designer to Process everything Vector and make them all converge to Affinity Publisher for project finalization. So, 80% of my exports happens there because Affinity Publisher does it better when it have to print stuffs ! Please bring a shiny but powerful export persona to Publisher.
  2. Well I got a new idea but instead of writing Tons of lines I just decided to open a 2 questions poll to see if my idea stands. Well, can discuss about here but answering the question would talk better while the points will stand as complementary ideas. Blessings!
  3. Hello I understand Affinity Photo can benefit from the usage of a GPU, I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M since it's a laptop. My question is, to ascertain that software does is working with the GPU, should I select the GPU selection in the Affinity Photo Preference Menu in the Performance Tab?, should I assign it directly in the Nvidia control panel? or should I do both things? Thank you
  4. Basically what the title says- pattern stamp tool request similar to photoshop, as an extension of the clone stamp tool concept. Texture samples could be applied to the pattern stamp, which can then be used as an overlay brush or something. I would also like for the joint ability to sample from images to create new patterns and textures to turn into brushes.
  5. I installed Affinity Photo on my second computer and now it doesn't start anymore. Affinity Photo doesn't even start when only one of the machines is turned on. I deleted the %APPDATA%/Affinity/Photo/ folder on both machines and it still doesn't work. I also reinstalled the program twice and it doesn't work. It just crashes without an error.
  6. I'm new on Windows. I mostly ran Linux in past. My question is how do I acquire Affinity? Windows is kind of confusing too. I understand there are two ways: Buy from Serif's site. In that case, will it be a digital download? Then how will I receive the activation key or license? And if I change or reinstall Windows, will my key still work or I have to buy another license? Buy from Microsoft store. In that case, will I have a license? Or Microsoft will remember it for me? Will Microsoft store restores the affinity apps back free of cost if I reinstall Windows or I have to buy again?
  7. Hello. I couldn't find a direct answer to this. Is there a way to sculpt a pencil line in the desktop version of Affinity designer. I love using this feature on the iPad and find the Pencil tool basically useless to me without it. Thanks,
  8. Today i want to just share with you a quick video of what i believe and think Serif Team should take in consideration and make available into the Affinity Range. Well the product they will choose that will have this ... is something i can't point out now but with the coming kind of enforced collaboration between all three products i really believe we should be able to make this kind of things with ease and not jump to other software's just to generate it knowing the portability and sometime compatibility is not properly working. Less words, now check in 1min what i'am referring to ! Requested_functions1.mp4
  9. I guess this has been requested before, but the fact that this very helpful tool is not yet in Affinity Designer, makes me feel envious of my workmates using Adobe Illustrator. I'm not talking about the graph, but the tool that gives you the capability to adjust the width of strokes at a selected point. Can you guys confirm if you are working on it, please? I would get very excited!
  10. Hey everyone, I am working on converting our Adobe compatible products from RetroSupply Co. into Affinity compatible products. I am just now understanding that the vector brushes do not work in the same way that vector brushes do in Illustrator. I see that the native vector Affinity brushes are just raster images that follow a vector path. What I need help deciding is if our Adobe Illustrator brushes will be usable (and desired) in Affinity or if we should scrap the vector looking brushes and just make them with raster images. I could really use the help of some of you who illustrate with Affinity every day! Your input would be really valuable. I've attached a beta version of InkWash- our vector water color brushes. You will see some of them are named "InkWash Vector #" and others are named "InkWash Raster #". Which do you prefer the look of? Vector or Raster? You will see that the "vector" titled ones have a more traditional vector look (as they are coming from Adobe Illustrator). I am trying to decide just converting what we have is sufficient or if we should remake the textures as raster before making them into Affinity vector brushes. I really appreciate any input! Thank you! -Suzanne InkWash Beta by RetroSupply.afbrushes
  11. Why can I not paint in Affinity Photo? It is as if the program does not register that I am putting a black paint stroke on a layer...or any other color stroke for that matter.
  12. Hello Does anyone know how to easily recreate frequency/sound waves in Affinity Designer like in the image I've attached? I really need to learn how to do this but I can't figure out an easy with in Designer. Thanks in advance, Matt
  13. I’ve lost nearly a day of work trying to fix this issue, and am not ready to give up on it yet. I would really appreciate the help of some of the Affinity Gurus with this issue, as it is driving me crazy. I’m using the latest version of Affinity Designer on Mac. I’m working on a vector illustration of a shark. and I’ve attached a sample of the project I’m working on below, along with some screenshots. If you look at the gills, on one layer (gills erase), I’ve used an erase to punch through to the green. Then, I’ve duplicated that layer on top, change the erase to normal and used it as a container for a vector texture. Unfortunately, I cannot get rid of a hairline thin stroke around the border of the shape. Only it isn’t a stroke, as the stroke is deactivated. More of a border that maintains it’s size as you zoom in and out. I though this could just be affinity showing me the outline of the shape, but this unwanted out carries through to the export. You can see exactly the same effect between the layers ‘lower side’ and ‘upper side’. This line is the same size no matter how much you zoom in or out, and again, it carries over to the export. I’ve researched extensively on the forums, and found no fix so far. Some similar suggestions hinted at an issue with anti-aliasing, but I’m not sure that it the issue. Any help on this would be really appreciated. Affinity_Error.afdesign
  14. Hi! I report a problem with the Wacom Intuos Pro M tablet in Affinity Photo 1.6.4.104. Sometimes when I use a brush, the line does not show up, although I can use the "Undo" option. It only helps to restart the application. Yesterday I had to restart 3 times, today two*. Horribly annoying. I have up-to-date tablet drivers (6.3.30-6) #1 Edit *three times
  15. Hey guys. Newbie here! So in a nutshell, I'm an illustrator who primarily draws in Photoshop using a graphics tablet. I've recently purchased both Affinity Designer & Photo in hopes to totally ditch the Adobe subscription thing. Working in the way that I do, once downloaded I immediately selected the Affinity brush tool (not the vector brush) in both apps to see how it performs, but for some reason my pressure sensitivity is not accurate as it should be. I'm experiencing this in both applications, but not in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or Sketchbook Pro. What's shown in the attached images is all strokes that were made quickly using a stable pressure. As you can see the strokes in Photoshop are all very uniform and natural looking, but for some reason in Affinity apps my stroke pressure does not register accurately which makes it incredibly difficult to draw 'neatly'. Sometimes when I press very hard the strokes are incredibly thin, but then suddenly bulk up which causes the strokes to look blobby - the scribbles I made were done with the same amount of pressure throughout but for some reason they seem to start very thin, even with a decent amount of pressure, and then suddenly thicken without me even pressing harder. I'm working on an iMac. I've look up a bunch of tutorials to make sure that I'm using the brushes properly, but they don't seem to play well. Is it just me, or is this a known issue? In the last attached image some of the strokes didn't even register at all like the cross bar of the "F" in "of".
  16. I don't have time to search entire forums or the interwebs to see if someone else has ever suggested this feedback before. So I offer my apologies if my suggestions have already been covered. 1) Please can you provide a feedback function WITHIN the application it self. It's incredibly frustrating to have to use out dated methods of signing up to god-awful web-forums which just leads to nonconstructive replies of un-thought out opinions and arguments. It also allows you to correctly link feedback (and abuse) to the software license of the user and even categorise the feedback so you can easily see which areas are causing most concern to the user base. 2) Please can you fix the mouse icon when painting in masks in the develop mode. The standard OS mouse icon does not feel accurate to paint with. Also a nice to improve if possible: Painting often feels sluggish to see the red tint forming. If there is a way to make this feel more responsive without upgrading an existing 32GB RAM I7 processor machine, that would be lovely please. 3) Cropping in Develop mode is missing an "ok" or "finished" button. It's frustrating to be sitting back with my tablet, controlling everything then having reach over to the keyboard which I moved to one side, just to hit <enter>. I don't want to map the enter key to my tablet device as it's never used for anything else! if you simply put a button in the UI it will mean I can just move the mouse there and click! perhaps I've missed a trick that does what I want, but then that would mean it's not obvious and intuitive to the user. 4) Please update the flash function for uploading files on this forum. Who runs flash in 2017? Browsers auto block flash from running by default because it's nasty. 5) More of a question then a suggestion, but is there a way to rename the overlays in the Overlays tab in Develop mode? I have 3 gradient overlays, all with the same name! that's very confusing to simple minds like myself. 6) Although I generally hope you spend more time fine tuning what you have already developed, instead of just rushing out new features, it would be nice if there was an in-application function for browsing image files, with a nice big preview of the image and EXIF data, which you can then double click to open it in the develop mode. I don't think anyone wants all this "importing" and cataloguing rubbish which is very slow. But browsing files within Affinity with a UI that suits photographers that windows/macOS don't offer, would be a great win. Thanks for your time.
  17. I would like the ability to control opacity from within the pencil tool— like an rgba set up. I would also like to be able to set the tool as a multiply (or other) type to quickly layer shapes and colors. As of writing I’m not sure if this is possible without going into the layer menu to adjust opacity and layer types.
  18. I would love to see the feature that Lightroom has where you can select a color from your photo with the colour picker, and change the colour with the slider. See example video where the skin colour is edited this way in Lightroom. This would be so useful!
  19. Please add the main functions from Excel! For example: Sum, Min, Max, Count, Average.
  20. Will Afinity Publisher be able to open Page Plus files?
  21. Installed AD week ago, everything worked as a charm until today. Started crashing when trying to combine several simple shapes with boolean tools. Reinstalled. Reset settings. Cleared default. Nothing worked. Starting to feel a dissapointment and regret... AD is latest possible version - 1.6.5.123. Not tryout but bought.
  22. Wouldn't be awesome if serif creates a competitor for Adobe Animate (Flash) for us? Having no scripting language would be alright as long as it can draw and animate well.
  23. Hello everybody, My question is really simple, Is any of you editing on affinity photo with 2 screens (two monitors) ? And if yes, What to you put on the first screen, what do you put on the second ? Is there a way to have several ajustements open at the same Time on one screen, and just the picture shown ok the second ? Thanks a lot, Regards, Ken.
  24. Is there a way to draw triangles with a precise set of angles in Affinity Designer/Photo for iPad. For example, suppose I want a triangle with a top corner angle of 75°. How would I create that triangle to spec? Sorry if I’m overlooking something simple. Thanks in advance for the advice. I tried to research this basic point. So far I’ve come up with nothing.
