  1. How Can I convert a texture to a nomal map (bump map) I affinity photo or affinity designer?
  2. Hello! My name is Mikołaj but you can call me Mik. I've been using affinity software since first release in 2014 for graphic design(any kind of user interface design and visual identity assets). Lately some idea popped in my head – I am using the same tools in the same way all the time, so to prevent some kind of stagnation I want to challenge myself to create different kind of artwork that I usually do. Goal: Creating artwork from scratch in a poster format using every tool that is available in the software. I invite you to enjoy this journey with me.
  3. Affinity Designer already has a grid and axis manager, to select diferente types of grids, like isometric, dimetric, …. Also it also has the isometric panel, that change planes to edit or fit objects in a given plane. A new option of grid could be developed to do perspective drawings, like on paper with One Point Perspective or Two Point Perspective, that uses vanishing points to create the illusion of depth in an drawing. And probably using a similar organization of isometric drawings. This use of the geometry in the grid and panel, would be very useful for to make this type of drawi

  6. I'm working on creating my own game in Unity and I've updated one of my old hand drawings of the leading character with AD. Looks good AD and it took a bit of getting uses too after using Photoshop. Still in progress, want to add shading and the finer details. First drawing is the hand drawn one, and the second is the work in progress in AD. I also used AP with an Apple iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil to sketch some of the new elements first before adding them to the image in AD.
  7. Hi there, I'm mainly do 3D work with CINEMA 4D lately and I felt that I already forgotten everything I learned about Affinity Designer, so I decided to actually use the just released new version to make something quick. Ended up recreating some flat visuals I saw on the net and put my "own" spin on it. Nothing special, I'm still happy about it. Also I noticed that my main trouble with Affinity Designer is still getting color values from A to B, btw., something wrong with my understanding of the workflow there, I guess.
  8. I can imagine that these features have been requested a lot but a 3D system such as in photoshop would be awesome. I could need it really often and it would improve my workflow by a lot. Another thing I want to make you consider is improving the old DrawPlus or make up an entirely new 2D animationsoftware. I realized that there was non good Animation Software, at least for my needs, and so iI would love if this was possible. Ive seen it a lot that other people got the answer that their proposals were not the planned way for serief, but this would be quiet urgent. Because i had to animate a Cha
  9. Hi, new user who has to possibly make a hardware purchase decision before I get back to my computer next week to test my theory. I want to know if Afinity has the ability to stitch together photos in 2 dimensions. An example would be a panorama with 2 rows of photos, one row containing the foreground and horizon, and the second row to capture the sky immediately above the foreground pics. I have seen many youtube vids showing this as a built-in capacity to Adobe products, but I have not been able to find any Afinity related discussion on the web. The reason I want to do this has
  10. hi, i am searching a software for making my sprites for unity and i found ur programs that look aweasome! but idk if is for sprites, can someone answer me if i can use it for games ? :(, and if i can i should pick the photo version or the dessigner
  11. Hi all, I wanted to share the work I've done on our 2D mobile game Storm the Train. We've recently done a big update to the iOS version and launched on Android. During this process I've switched over from Illustrator to Affinity Designer and I'm really enjoying using AD. Almost all of the artwork is now created in AD. Attached are a launch image for the Android version and a small compilation of screen shots. If you fancy downloading and having a play, it's free and can be found using the following links. iOS App Store: http://bit.ly/StYK2d Google Play Store: http://bit.ly/1Mn5
  12. So most (all) gradients are even transitions along a 1d line. AD does 2d, so why not 2d gradients. This is in two parts. One) every gradient would have a "Distort Mode", distort mode brings up a grid of handles, rotated to the direction of the gradient and radial etc. for the respective gradient. These can be moved, distorting the gradient. This would be basically a special implementation of the second part; 2D gradients) each 2d gradient would be a assortment of points, each with controllable spread, hsl, and shape. Spread is the distance, think a gaussian function, squished or squashe
