I created a document and forgot to add a bleed. Is there a way of adding a bleed after a document has already been created? I’m trying to prevent doing a cut and paste to a new document if possible. thanks!

Hello forum members, I'm facing a challenge while working on my game character, which I design in Affinity Designer and then import into Spine using the Spine JSON export settings. My problem is that I don't know how to set the origin correctly. To explain in more detail: I have numerous artboards in my Affinity Designer project. When I export my character and paste it into Spine, I have to manually move it to coordinates 0.0. Not only is this step time-consuming, but it can also be inaccurate. In the YouTube video I linked you can see how the origin is set in Photoshop so that the sprites are shown in the correct place when exported I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions for solutions and tips on how I can optimize this process. Additionally, if you have general recommendations for the Affinity Designer to Spine workflow, please share them with me. Many thanks in advance! Best regards, Trilex

When the dash pattern for a stroke is clipped (meaning the stroke is too short for the dashes to apply) the pattern is ignored. Steps to reproduce 1. Create a line with the pen tool| 2. Apply a stroke colour and set the stroke to be dashed 3. For the dashes, set increasing sizes, like 1 | 1 | 4 | 4 | 10 | 0 (cap type doesn't matter) 4. Change the length of the line, if the line is too short to display all dashes, only the first two 1 | 1 will be used, rather than clipping off the parts that are too long (e.g. the last 10 should become 5 to make the pattern fit) Video 2023-10-04 09-41-45.mp4 This is on Windows 10.0.19045, Publisher/ Designer 2.2.0.

Hi. I've created a symbol then used two of them on my artboard. Now I have selected both curves (inside symbol group) to adjust them to create what I need. Basically I'm using "Transform Mode" from Context tool bar so each node moves symmetrically. It works fine but problem is: Only the node of shape that is rotated on right side manages to snap to the node of shape on left side. If I try to snap the node of shape on left side (which is NOT rotated) to the node or curve on right side, it doesn't work at all. There's no snapping. You can see it I've explained it in the GIF I've attached. One possible explanation for this behavior is that the shape that's not rotated is horizontal, that's why it allows to snap other nodes to its own nodes. But that shouldn't be an "excuse"? It should work both ways whether it's rotated or not. Am I missing some settings? Or is it expected behavior? I basically want to snap both nodes exactly when using this Transform to it. I could do it manually by dragging each node one by one, but that's not perfect. I want accurate result which is only possible through snapping in this case.

This effects all three programs: Photos, Designer, and Publisher. When i minimize the program to the dock, clicking on the docked icon does not expand the program to the desktop again. it does however make it the active window. to expand the program i must right click on the docked icon and and select the currently opened file in the program.

I'm fairly new to Affinity Designer. Like most people, I come from the Adobe world. Soon after starting with AD I started to miss the free transform tool found in the competitor's software. I found an old thread in which for over five years people were demanding a free transform tool to be included in Designer. Then with the introduction of v2, those demands seemed to have been answered, in form of the Warp Group feature. The Warp Group is a really cool and powerful feature which, on the surface, seems to do the task of the free transform tool. I did notice some unexpected behaviour with it though. The warp tool curves straight lines when it shouldn't. The image below best illustrates my issue with the tool. In the example I'm warping a simple triangle (with straight sides and sharp nodes) with the Quad Warp tool. I'm expecting the warp tool to keep the sides of the triangle straight. Instead it curves them. To me, this is not the expected behaviour, nor is it how the free transform in other software work and I think it should be fixed. With the Perspective Warp the effect isn't as strong, but it can still be seen (image below). For comparison, the image below shows the free transform behaviour in both Photoshop and Illustrator. So I ask: why should Affinity Designer's Warp behaviour be any different? So far I've really enjoyed exploring AD and its features, but little discrepancies like this in the tools are quite frustrating to me.

Hi, possibly small bug in Grid and Snapping window with isometric presets - "Fixed aspect ratio" looks like reverse logic, enables ratios on checked. Greets M.

Hi all! Following suggestions, I'm reposting about this particular issue that is still present with the latest Designer release V 2.0.3 on iPad. The brushes panel is very blurred and pixelated. Brushes are difficult to see. I experience this particular issue on a daily basis. Upon restarting the app, it can be fine but then the brushes become pixelated again. It has been ongoing for me since installing Designer V2. This happens for both add-on/custom and designer brushes. Thanks!

I'm probably missing something here … I'm trying to set up a triangular grid with a tilted up axis, but the settings are inaccessible to me in any way. I'm trying to get a grid that looks like this, where Z axis = Up axis and every axis is tilted by exactly 30°. But all I can produce is this, with the up axis always remaining inaccessible for some reason (the check boxes don't change anything in this regard even if they are checked/unchecked): I also would like to avoid using the Cube Raster Model because I don't need it for my project and I don't always want to switch between the planes. Any tips on how I can achieve what I am looking for are very welcome! Cheers! Dennis Edit: A simple solution would of course be to work on the design in a tilted grid and rotate it at the end. But this is not very intuitive or advantageous because you don't have the actual result in front of your eyes until you rotate it.

The margin color is not updating when changing in View > Guides I attached a video. This is using the latest Designer Beta but it is present in the current build (2.0.4) as well. (Note) Weirdly enough I did get it to shift once to one of the colors I chose (I believe 2nd), but it remained on that color from that point. No idea what the trigger was for that behavior. ***Please See the photos for reference. I work with Affinity 2 on the iPad Pro (2022) everyday as my full time job and this has never happened to me. This glitch is extremely random. Some designs don’t have this glitch while others do. I have tried to find if I had accidentally clicked a setting within Affinity and can’t find anything that can undo this. The last picture of the vertical flowers is how I want Expand Stroke to work (and how it has Always worked for me) I have tested the designs that glitch in a fresh document within Affinity 2 and they still do it. ***When I test them in Affinity 1 for iPad, I don’t get the glitch. I even deleted and re-installed Affinity 2 from my iPad in the hopes it would help, it did not. Please tell me this is fixable, I really do not want to start using the old Affinity for work as I’ve got such a smooth workflow. Thanks in advance! ***Update, after further testing, it seems the glitch only happens if the Stroke is “too large” which may be different for different designs. The expand stroke worked on the horizontal flower design shown in the photos, when the stroke was set to 4.2 before Expanding, but when I go over 4.3 I get the glitch shown in the photos

Hi everyone, I posted something similar in the feedback forum a few months ago, but I've realised that the behaviour applies not only to grids but to all forms of snapping so I'm posting here now as a bug. It is currently not possible to snap when constraining the curve's angle even with snapping enabled when using the pen tool normally. I've recorded a short video to show this in action. Affinity designer snapping not working with constraint.mp4 I am using MacOS Ventura 13.1 M1 pro Macbook Pro Affinity Designer 2.0.4 Confirmed that this bug exists on version 1 of Designer. The only workaround seems to be to press and hold on the trackpad/mouse when drawing the curve and snapping will work, but this is really unintuitive and impractical for large amounts of drawing.

I had a problem when printing a Publisher document with a placed Designer graphic. I created an "80-ball" for a birthday card in Designer 2.0.3 and placed it into my card, which I created in Publisher 2.0.3. The designer graphic had a drop shadow, but no background. I added the green background in Publisher. The larger screen shot shows how it should print. The smaller image in the Print Dialog Box shows how it actually did print (sorry for the small size of that screen shot). There's some weird shading around the ball itself and it looks like that shading has been clipped. The designer image was placed in Publisher without a picture frame, so there was no picture frame to cause it to be cut off like that. I printed from Publisher, then again from Publisher via the Colorsync Utility, and also an exported PDF using Acrobat. All three prints have the same issue, and it shows in their respective print preview windows. Then, I exported a PNG of the 80-ball with a clear background from Designer and replaced the Designer file with the PNG file in the same Publisher document using the Resource Manager. This printed correctly as shown on the monitor. So, the placed PNG printed fine, but the placed Designer file did not. In the main editing window of Publisher, they both look fine. But once you go to print, you can see that the file with the placed Designer image is clipped and has extra shading, and prints exactly as show in the print dialog box. I had three other afdesign placed images that printed fine, and also one placed AfPhoto image that also printed fine. The Daffy Duck image on the same page was an AD image and printed as expected. Perhaps it's my 80-ball image, but I couldn't see any problem with that file.
