I am running Affinity Photo 2 Beta v.2.4.0.2222 on a Windows 11 PC. I round-tripped a DNG file from Excire Foto 2024 to DxO PureRAW 3. I then exported the resulting linear DNG to Affinity Photo 2 Beta. On export from Affinity Photo 2 Beta, I noted the details of the taking lens had been changed. The image was taken with a Nikon D800 and a Nikkor AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR, but the TIFF exported from Affinity Photo 2 Beta shows the taking lens to be a Tokina AT-X 24-70mm f/2.8 PRO FX. I have contacted Excire and they do not believe their application is responsible for the metadata change. As can be seen from the attached screenshot, it appears that DxO PureRAW 3 is using the correct optical module. Could Affinity Photo 2 Beta be responsible for this issue thanks?

EHello, I use DxO PureRaw to improve my RAW photos before post production in Affinity Photo. The jpeg image I get from PureRaw is ok. But the DNG is badly interpreted by Affinity Photo that transforms blank color into pink Does somebody know how to prevent or fix it in Affinity? Thank you

Walt, I have just repeated the exercise with v 2.3.1 with the same results. As it is getting a bit late here in North West England I will conduct further test tomorrow morning. Just thinking of the best way to share the rather large files, I am no computer expert? I have already contacted the manufacturers of Excire Foto 2024 which is a DAM: they are of the opinion the problem does not lie with them. I think I will open the raw file directly in Affinity Photo 2 & the beta and see what happens? I will also see what happens if I open the file directly in DxO PureRAW 3 and then process it in Affinity? I will also see what happens if I process images taken with different camera/lens combinations. Many thanks, Patrick

What happens if you try it with 2.3.1? Can you share a copy of the file at each stage (before loading into Exciro, after Exciro, and after DXO PureRaw 3)?

I've tried to install DXO PureRaw 2 as a Plugin to Affinity Photo (1.10.5) via Preferences but I can seem to achieve this, whereas DXO Nik Collection plugins install perfectly. Has anyone managed to install PureRaw into AP as a plugin?

I notice every time I use DXO pureraw to enhance the noise of a photo, the photo has only 96 dpi in Affinity Photo when opened for further enhancement, off course I can change this back to 300 dpi. But is this not a strange thing to happen? It does not happen in PS.

No, the request for this to Affinity is open (also at my side) for many years already. And to be honest, raw import - color handling - is pretty bad in Affinity, so I would strongly advice to use other tools when it comes to raw color imput handling. Affinity It belongs in my opinion to the worst programs when it comes to raw import, therefore add eg DXO pure raw in front of it. I used Affinity for raw at the start already, tested it by time, but it is really comes with aweful results with raw color import. Therefore I never used Affinty that way anymore . How I use Affinity: My advice is to always combine it with a decent raw convertor like DXO pure Raw, of Capture one, or Nikon NX studio or such or just use compressed tiff's and move those forward to Affinity, than it will work fine. That way you also get around non supported cameras like Nikon Z9 and Z8. I do all color handling in Capture one. (c1) That works perfect and you can acht on very specific colors, even colors separated on high-, mid-, or low-lights, you can combine this with (intellgent) (red layered) masking on images parts, skin colors etc and it can read the color card and ajust to it. There are video's availble on YT how this works, but the colors are in 98% more nice using the color management of C1 itself. C1 is an awesome tool when it comes to color management. The adjustment tools in c1 are superb, and for this C1 also became recognized into the promarket. It is seen as a high quality color management tool, if not the best. It's color correct and razor fast Forget color management like X-rite (or calibrite, today) in affinity. Color card implementations are not implemented even after years of requests , so I don't expect it anymore. You better can have a look to add DXO pure raw than waiting for Affinity it will disappoint you. Hello, I am testing the workflow: DxO PureRAW and AP. Since the lens correction is already done in PureRAW, I have created another preset ("Without_Correction") in the Develop Persona. This preset is displayed as selected. But you have to click on the preset again and again to use it, because it seems that the preset "Standard" is always active, which you can also see in the settings that belong to "Standard" and not to the new preset. Only after clicking on the "Without_Correction" template its settings (all deselected) are used. regards, Uwe

There are various workarounds for the S5 ii. Silkypix or Adobe RAW converter to get a .tiff or .dng respectively. They aren't that good though IMHO. I have found the best fix to be to use DxO PureRAW 3 before opening in Affinity Photo. DxO already fully supports the S5 ii and all of its lenses. It does the lens corrections and produces a superb .dng, reducing noise, but improving the image even if none is actually needed. The sharpening option is really good. It auto-sends into AP's Develop Persona after processing and I can proceed with post-processing as usual. It's a shame the AP team can't keep up with other developers, who seem to be able to update equipment support much more often. ACDSee's DAM software and Topaz Labs are the same in that they don't support the S5 ii yet either. I guess you get what you pay for!

I got this photo I took with a Sony A6600, I process my ARW files with DxO PureRAW first and that gets me a DNG file, and I open the DNG file with Affinity. This usually works fine and my typical photos are more nature centric and I've never had a problem. But this particular file has this huge pink splotch that does not show up in Windows Photo viewer or DxO, I only see it in Affinity. I am in the Develop persona but have touched none of the adjustments. (white balance does say there's a 25% pink tint but adjusting it to zero does not help) I have uploaded screenshots and the actual DNG file. Is this a bug with Affinity? Or with DxO PureRAW? Following up my problems with Affinity Photo 2.1. AfP works correctly as long as no external plugins are used. However, if a plugin is applied, export to JPG works fine, but AfP crashes when it is closed following the export. Workflows tested: PhotoMechanic Plus -> Affinity Photo -> Export to JPG, then close AfP PhotoMechanic Plus -> Affinity Photo -> External plugin -> Export to JPG, then close AfP Affinity Photo -> Export to JPG, then close AfP Affinity Photo -> External plugin -> Export to JPG, then close AfP Tested with ORF raw files and DNG files from DxO PureRAW. Plugins used for test: DxO FilmPack 6 Elite, ON1 Effects 2023, Topaz Studio 2 and Exposure X7.

Yeah, I can have DxO PureRaw 3 deliver the preprocessed DNG files to Affinity Photo, but I was unsuccessful trying to use the Topaz plugins like that, let alone DxO. I'm on a Mac though, so there is no simple EXE to point to, and no real documentation that helps in specific cases. My plugin prefs section looks different. Googling found me only other dudes with the same problem and no solution.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but when I open DNG files that have near blown highlights I'm getting a pinkish magenta cast in the brightest areas. If I try to correct by reducing the highlights in the develop persona the magenta color gets more intense. The DNG file was created in the new DXO PureRAW program and imported into Affinty Photo, I have contacted DXO also to investigate. This was taken with an Olympus E-M1 MkII with a 7-14mm 2.8 Pro lens 1/6400 ISO 200 f/2.8

I noticed that no one has addressed your question yet, @maikm. There are 2 things to note in the Plug-Ins part of the Preferences. First, you should definitely check the "Allow unknown plugins to be used" box. Second, since the Mac is "sandboxed" you have to click the button labelled "Authorize Global". This allows Affinity Photo to delve into folders which it does not "own"; not clicking on that button will definitely screw up at least some of your plugin use. That having been said, I'm not sure if DxO PureRaw can be accessed as a plug-in on Mac, but it's certainly worth a try!

Hi there, I use DXO PureRAW (Version 2) to develop my RAW-Files (DNG-Files, made with a Pentax-DSLR). PureRAW sharpens and denoises the pictures and saves them again in the .dng-format, pretty neat. Usually, all goes well - except when a picture contains overexposed (pure white) spots: When I open this PureRAW-DNG-files in Affinity's RAW-Editor, all the overexposed parts have a pink cast. Don't get me wrong: I don't expect Affinity to magically save this overexposed parts - I just want it to leave them alone. Anyone else with this problem? Thanks a lot for your help!

@Revanian I have to confess that I did check out Adobe's pricing last night, it's still ridiculously priced though. I'm on the verge of buying DXO PureRAW 3, as it's better than Topaz Denoise AI which I already own. Amateur photographers are keeping Serif going and these tools would help tremendously, all the pro photographers I know still use Adobe or the likes of Capture One, Affinity Photo doesn't seem to be a good fit for them, if Serif want more pro togs to switch they'll have to innovate or be left behind.
