Question: How to fix as I have tried 3 different methods of installing?? I cannot install any of the 3 programs. Publisher 2, Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Photo 2 I came across a post from last Nov 2022 about this. I started the install then this message pops up: "App installation failed with error message: An internal error occurred with error 0x80070005" I am the administrator. I have Full admin rights. I can install other programs after these. My anti-virus was paused when installing. Edition Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Version 22H2 Installed on ‎12/‎8/‎2022 <-- OS build 19045.2546 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0 I then tried the nerd install at the link and got the same error: error 0x80070005 I also tried the Microsoft Store and received the same error: Something unexpected happened Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. I've not forgotten about this. I've been continuing to look into this and i'm still having issues trying to move the app. I did try another MSIX app and that also had the same issue when trying to move it and gave the same error. I tried all the solutions listed here and a new user account and the same error occurred. I couldn't find much related to the error 0x80073CF6 but when I tried using Powershell to move the app, I got a more detailed error log: AppX Deployment operation failed for package SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.0.0.1640_x64__3cqzy0nppv2rt with error 0x80073CF6. The specific error text for this failure is: Authorization of capabilities for SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.0.0.1640_x64__3cqzy0nppv2rt failed with error code 0x800701C5. I've logged this with our developers to see if it's something they're aware of. If/when I get an update, I will let everyone know.

Recently I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 from an old Dell to a new Lenovo using Laplink. My Affinity apps, Photo, Designer and Publisher all copied to the C drive, which is now too small to cope. I uninstalled Designer and Publisher but tried to use the facility in Windows 11 to move Photo2 from the C drive to the D drive. I tried three times and got error code 0x80073cf6 each time. I tried uninstalling, downloading to the D drive and reinstalling but Affinity Photo 2 reinstalled to the C drive giving me no chance to instal to the D drive. How can I get the application off the C drive onto the D drive please?

Not on my Windows 11 PC. When I tried to move Affinity Designer 2 to another drive, I got this error message: We couldn't move Affinity Designer 2. The operation did not complete successfully... The error code is 0x80073cf6, in case you need it."

I reported the same problem earlier this week. On my Windows 11 PC, even though I specified the D drive in the Settings app, Affinity 2's MSIX ignored that setting and installed on my C drive anyway. And when I tried to move the app from C to D, the move failed with the error code 0x80073cf6. I don't have much space left on my C drive and I can't afford to install all 3 Affinity apps there. I purchased and downloaded both Affinity Designer 2 and Affinity Photo 2 from Serif. I installed Affinity Designer 2 on the C drive (I had no choice), but the MSIX for Affinity Photo 2 is sitting on an external drive until a fix can be provided by Serif.

For me setting the new location for application installs failed - its set to my application drive but still insists on installing to my system drive. Moving also fails for me - I just get a 0x80073cf6 error and a message to try later. Happy to sit this out - software uninstalled while I wait for a more traditional installer.

Setting the location within Settings > System > Storage > More / Advanced Storage Settings > Change where new content is saved did not stop the application being installed on my system drive, and the move option fails with an error 0x80073cf6 I am voting with my feet and will not purchase this software until you fix the issue - I do not want software telling me where it should reside.

Moving an installed application causes an error 0x80073cf6. I uninstalled apps, and changed default drive in Settings > System > Storage to D, and then install once again. Now is ok, but apps installed in D:\WindowsApps. It would be great if I could set any path.

Just FYI Walt--and for reasons unknown--this does't always work. It fails on my system every time. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling, etc, before moving, and all three apps fail upon move. (In case it isn't clear: "We can't move Affinity Designer 2. The operation didn't complete correctly. Try again later. If you need it, the error code is 0x80073cf6.") The intended drive is D:/ -- which is where my current Affinity 1.10 apps all live.
