Affinity Designer 1.7 beta has construction lines, so download and take a look at the beta version.
Sounds cool, I'll take a look!

I know that you can create diagonal grids, but sometimes I just need a one off guide on a slant to align just one element with another.
So basically you would just be able to rotate an existing guide.

I haven't been able to find any way to create diagonal guides, despite all of the community feedback. Is this something that will be implemented in the next release?

It would be very nice if you could collapse all layers at once in the layers panel. Layers become very difficult to work with when you have many of them since selecting objects expands the parent layer, so you have to scroll back up and manually collapse them yourself.
Perhaps you could have it so that layers are only expanded for as long as the item within it is selected? That way, after deselecting an object, the layer expansion goes back to its previous state, which is ether expanded or collapsed. Am I making any sense?

Go to the magnet icon and select "Snap to object geometry"

If you mean the Swatches Studio panel, you can click on the 4 line 'hamburger' menu icon on the top right of the panel & choose "Large" from the "Appearance" menu item.
Excellent, just what I needed. Thank you!

This. Please, its common sense.

It would be nice if the color squares in the palette tab would be bigger so that it will be easier to select them with the cursor. I work on a smaller 13" screen, so it can be a bit difficult to select colors since the icons are so small.

There really needs to be a feature for this... Maybe you could add an option in the snap options panel?
