Three got a reaction from b1791 in Ability to Increase Size of Icons and Menu Text
Would really like the ability to increase size and readability of icons and related text on both desktop and iPad.
Frankly, I am shocked this isn't in V2 of Affinity Designer especially although I have licensed the three products in the suite.

Three got a reaction from Bengie PR in Digital Publishing Feature Suggestions - Interactivity
I would love it if Affinity Publisher outputted all standard eBook formats and
allowed for interactivity in eBooks where supported by file type.
    Interactive features would include:
popups with texts animation sound files ability to turn features on or off within the book page jumps on choice  Since Affinity is the future and interactive books are the future, seems a perfect match to me.
Right now, there are some add-on interactive features programs or software that are limited to very specific outputs;  Kotobee, iBooks Author, Aquafadas, inkling, Interact Builder, DemiBooks, Atavist, Talespring and others.
My perfect workflow would be to draft the book,  illustrate it in Designer (with Designer allowing frame animation), design in Publisher including any interactivity, and export across a wide variety of formats.  I realize this is a huge technical challenge, but it is my fantasy workflow.
    Thank you.

Just a tip for you, LibreOffice can export directly to epub. If the output from the default export filter doesn't suit you, you can install the writer2html extension. You'll still need to tweak the css for some styles, but its output is rather clean

While a reader may think that a book is a book whether it is printed or e-book, they are actually very different things. Publisher excels in creating typographically high quality printed matter using features that mostly would have to be jettisoned when creating e-book version. And e-book, while feature set is very limited, needs to have its programming rules followed very strictly, not a simple task itself. Thus it is at the moment best to use tools developed specially for e-book publishing to get acceptable results.
Publisher will probably get e-book export capabilities at some point, but adding such a module is not a trivial task. And it is totally different and separate from core typography engine.

Use Paragraph Styles based on a Group Style. In each Paragraph style set the font to No Change and you can then change the font in the Group Style and the various Paragraph Styles will all change to that font.

Yes, we'll add more export formats in future to support e-publications. (I'm not going to commit to exactly which ones.) For this initial 1.7 release we chose to coast with our existing PDF because we had so much else to do. We have left a lot of work to do over the coming years.

Very disappointed there is no EPUB export option; that would be the main reason I would want this software. I really hope they add that feature.

EPUB export from within the application is very handy to have. I use it all the time in Apple Pages.

I can’t believe that Affinity would release even a Beta version of Publisher without the ability to export to ePub. If the Beta version and testing / consultation process is to mean anything then they’ll sort this before they go any further.

Armed with a suitable PNG image on a transparent background, such as the attached 'Banner.png', follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Brushes panel and click on the menu button in the top right-hand corner

    2. Choose the option 'New Textured Image Brush' from the bottom of the list and browse to the image file that you want to use

    3. Double-click the new brush to display the 'Brush - Editing' dialog

    4. Adjust the stroke settings as desired, move the head and tail offsets to mark off the body section, and choose whether you want the body to stretch or repeat.

    5. Press 'OK' to close the dialog, and then test your new brush.

I think the "whole document" crop tool is a must.
Since it exist in the "File - Document Set up" it is somehow a matter of adding a GUI to this function.

    thanks in advace,

    keep up the good work,

I was playing around with the cropping tool too.
Dragging an area in your document and hitting enter, Mac makes bleep sound, hit enter again, same bleep... Hmmm...

I was expecting "standard crop functionality" because the tool looks like that, because that's what I'm used too.  ;)

We don't offer the ability to crop the document using the Crop Tool for Designer at the moment. Affinity Photo's Crop tool does crop the document so we might look at combining these tools to offer both.

    @Elfred @Tifrato
Thank you both so much for your patience in solving this.
My error was that I did not install the fonts as they were initially listed by AnyFont.  Strangely the first time I did it I was not prompted to and it displayed all of the fonts in a neat list so I thought I was done. The second time I was prompted to install the fonts.
So now I do see the Profiles Elfred said I should see, which I didn't before.
And now, Tifrato, the added font shows up in the Affinity Font List for use in the application.
So AnyFont appears to work great with Affinity Designer and iPad Pro!  Excluding operator error of course.
    Thank you!

I just tested AnyFont in Affinity Photo and it worked perfectly well with our Company brand‘s fonts I just installed. @Three: how did you try to install a font with AnyFont? Did you see the Youtube Clip explaining the installation process already? What kind of fonts do you try to import? I had some problems with „WebFonts“...

I haven’t checked but I’m pretty sure that we can only use *.otf, *.ttf and *.ttc font files, not *.eot, *.svg or *.woff.
