  1. When I use Save a Copy, I get to give it a new name and I’m given apparent control over where it’s saved to, but when I try to finalize the move, I get a dialog box that says (3 or 4 times) “The Operation is now Permitted.” So..is there something else required for this method to work in the iPad’s eyes? Also, nowhere to be found is the word, “Share” anywhere in the AD interface; it is mentioned in detail in the Help File. I believe I have the latest version of Affinity Designer for iPad; can’t get the iPad to tell me *which* version number it is. Why’s everything have to be so hidden and tip-top secret?
  2. How are AD files moved from iPad to Mac when there are no share or copy options in AD’s file “browser” or when an AD file is open? I’m good ‘n’ stumped here..answers appreciated!
  3. When I have a brush selected, I don’t always see *which* brush is selected..IOW the active, in-use brush isn’t always highlighted with light blue. why does this happen?
  4. I’m grateful for your responses.. this is a very good and helpful discussion - ALL parts of it!
  5. So.. if you’re creating in designer, move to pixel persona - with all kinds of selection tools available, but no way to save them... then what’s a person to do?
  6. Some tutorials show a "Save selection" menu item; I see no such thing in my version of AD. Also don't see channels, or any way to save selections. Can selections be saved in version 1.7.3 for MacOS? Thank you!
  7. Ok thank you for the clarification! Seems to be working the way I’d hoped it could
  8. Automatically hide UI appears already to be disabled. Slider dot is to the right.
  9. I’m familiar with the hide interface icon top right....double arrow thing. But why does interface hide when you tap near the tools on the left? Sometimes a person mis-taps...it happens...but it results in the interface hiding - unwantedly so.. feature or bug?
  10. Is there a way to instruct brush color to stay at User selection until changed by User? I find that brush color changes of its own accord when I switch from brush to eraser, back to brush. I want Black, but Photo seems to feel that White is the better choice.
  11. My results are spotty. Sometimes nothing happens after I’ve selected all of the layers concerned. Sometimes it will merge down 1 layer at a time. I tried grouping and merging down the group; nothing happened. I’m used to the convention such that: merge operations work on the layers selected unless “Flatten” is selected, in which case the entire document - all of its layers - are merged into 1 I rarely use the last function..more likely to merge layers of my choosing. Thank you!
  12. Does “merge” and its variations work on adjustment layers, or only on pixel layers? Thank you
  13. Is there any new information about Affinity Products and how well they work with Catalina? Thank you!
  14. Is it too soon to know whether there are problems for Affinity software running on a Mac with Catalina as the OS? Affinity are my main tools. If Catalina brings problems, I can wait.
  15. Is there a way to have brushes “remember” the size they were last set to? I’m working with a pencil and an eraser right now. I need each to be a certain size and one is larger the other. When I adjust the eraser to be a certain size, I find that the pencil is that size, too. If I adjust the pencil to a smaller size, the eraser takes that size, too. The Brush tool and the Eraser tool are two different tools with different jobs. It seems that they would be able to remember the size they were set to. I see nothing in the preferences that enables a feature like this. thank you!
  16. can somebody please describe all of the steps to getting these filters “into” AD? I downloaded and uncompressed but AD sees them a ghosted; I can’t select or make any importing happen at all. thank you
