I'll really try not to dominik, just so frustrating when it's a tick box that should be ticked by default, I can only think of a few scenarios where I might want to temporarily un-tick these boxes but then quickly switch back to TICKED - I'm sure the dev team member who decided on this arse over tit logic is in league with the devil - in my head I can hear them laughing hysterically. Really can't believe this is not a massive issue for all users, I know i'm a weirdo but............🤬🤮👿💩

Just another go at getting this off my chest, which has been kind of an annual whinge for the past five years. No matter how disciplined I try to be about trying to tick those horrid little "SCALE WITH OBJECT" tick boxes in FX and stroke, I always seem to just forget to do it !@!@@!@@???***** surely it can't mean a complete re-write of code to just have these tick boxes always ticked via preferences or sticky ticky boxes???? surely the reverse for default (always ticked) would be the only sane useful option - only having another whinge after yet another job where I need to blow up or scale down lots of different elements on a a page and then having to spend ages burrowing down though child of child of child layers just to tick those pesky little boxes. Is it really just me? as I can't remember anyone else having a moan about this and I don't think I've ever seen any moderator acknowledgement --- Maybe I'm just being selfish and unreasonable??? Maybe it would be a mountainous feat to implement this??????? Maybe I'll lob myself out of the window tomorrow when I have to go through it all yet again, although I'm on the ground floor, but I could easily graze my knee? Pretty please with sugar on top.............

Theres countless forum requests for this, which I'd say is a standard tool, not a feature, a lot of users been screaming for this "feature" since 2015 which is something I use every day. it's so frustrating that I have to keep Illustrator cs5 open to copy and paste between to achieve. until recently I'd not really used Illustrators perspective grid but on my current ongoing project I've discovered it's really brilliant and I can copy and paste with ease between Illy and designer not so with inkscape where you have to save SVG before it crashes

I begin my children's book Illustration projects by finding out the the print service providers CMYK colour profile (which for the past 3 books has been ISO coated v2 300%) then work from the off in CMYK, in my experience it's always worked out great, I've always felt a little uncomfortable working in RGB with all the colour shift stuff, for me working solely in CMYK for print projects just keeps things simple + have access to pretty good CMYK proofing

I do place a white rectangle at the bottom of the layer stack which extends to the bleed area, which works perfect for me personally - no bleed worries - no unusual layer effect / blend mode problems - creates a perfect print ready PDFx file - it's the first thing I do if I know the job destination is a printing press - enabled me to move from Indesign to Designer (for the majority of jobs) in 2017

Hopefully it's a bug - I ditched all those palettes as soon as it was possible to do so and replaced with CMYK and true greys plus have a standard application palette of globals for new documents - I know some users on windows were having problems deleting the standard palettes with the latest retail version, that was around a month ago, If i remember right, a moderator chipped in and said it would be fixed in an upcoming beta?

I really hope so - how is it possible to move forward and break the chains with Adobe if the only option for a quality print/proof is Adobe, I'm on a mac and can't move forward past Mojave for the foreseeable future as I'm stuck with Acrobat Pro 9 (over 10 years old and 32 bit) I refuse to go subscription, yet there's no other PDF software (apart from Callas PDF toolbox £500) that does all the pre-press stuff - I've tested loads of other PDF viewers, and just like Apple preview, you can't get a decent proof out of any of them for a CMYK workflow - just Acrobat!?!?!? It would be so handy to use Affinity apps just like other pro graphic design and DTP apps and print with confidence ---- SHRUGGG!
-
Affinitys print engine is not currently up to the job and can't even print CMYK or solid black to postscript devices (unless your printer driver can force black) and also seems to pre rasterise before RIP so you lose all your nice crisp vectors on all but simple pages, so pretty useless in it's current state - only choice for a decent printout is to create a PDF and use Acrobat pro or reader (or place your pdf in Indesign, Quark, Freehand etc...) to print FFS!?!?!?!?

Madness! - when I started in the industry everything seemed so simple regarding printing or outputting to an imagesetter or proofer - my first home epson Stylus 800 colour printer just worked with a proper CMYK colour driver (at least on the mac) and all graphic design apps sent CMYK as standard - setting up for screen print is still easy peasy, as spots, but as Affinity users, the only option we have (at the moment) if we want to proof separations is Acrobat pro (I use 9) and a postscript printer or RIP, where in acrobat pros print dialog, advanced takes you to options for sending separations - so I'm guessing for your printer, you would need RIP software in order to simplify the procedure, or you would need to invest in an SRA3 capable PS laser printer that supports transparencies, which will be pricey. Note that Preview doesn't support printing true CMYK --- ridiculous that most software that can handle CMYK needs to convert to RGB and convert back to CMYK with a colour profile to simulate output intent and completely bugger up all your colours ------- inkjet printers print with CMYK inks ----- SO WHY CANT WE PRINT CMYK All pro graphics/DTP software supports printing CMYK to ps printers ---- apart from Affinity?!?!?!?!?!!?

Color Variance when Printing Vector vs Raster
Dazmondo77 replied to zimmt's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
I've come to the conclusion that Affinity print output is a real mess, especially for those of us that want to print to postscript printers who want CMYK colour accuracy and decent vector reproduction, this seriously needs looking at
