Not sure what they're called (traffic light thingys) in the top left, and I know it was happening in the last MAS version (at least on Mojave) it's really distracting that it jumps around in the beta Just wondering if theres any plans to fix this? Screen_Grab_2020-11-16_at_08_28_10.mov

Just ran tests on a complex vector logo which scattered across the page once copy pasted from designer into Vectorstyler a few betas back - now works great copy pasting between apps - AMAZING! - blob brush doesn't support pressure sensitivity yet (at least I couldn't find a way to turn it on) the real vector brushes are ACE! - pattern fill works just like Affinitys bitmap fill but vector MINT! - simplify path works great - every possible distortion works instantly, butter smooth - can't wait for it's release - may only have to use Illustrator CS5 for simple 3d and perspective grid - really hope it's not gonna be a subscription job - you can even setup a page with slug ----- NEEEEEED!

I was initially a bit underwhelmed with Photo betas Pattern fill tool as I prefer to use vectors for this kind of thing, but just had a thought today about using Publishers Data Merge layout tool to create vector patterns and it turns out to work really well, at least for my usage - I'm not really up to the job at making tutorials, but thought I'd make a few screen captures in order to share the technique - it really does seem powerful and doesn't seem to slow down the way the old step and repeat symbols technique does First here's an earlier post from today where I first began messing around with the technique - this covers the basics of how to set up a repeating pattern And heres the technique put into practice on one of my old cartoon illustration jobs - hope someone can make use of it Pattern_test.mov

Theres a few of ways to cheat making vector patterns - the easiest I've discovered today, is to use the data merge layout tool in the 1.9 betas, along with symbols or you can hand draw using vector or bitmap brushes - for me this seems far more powerful than the new pattern feature in the latest photo betas - the old way of cheating was to make an empty box and make it a symbol then step and repeat it to fill your page (seems to slow down a little) then anything you paste into the symbol would repeat Screen_Grab_2020-11-14_at_10_27_53.mov Screen_Grab_2020-11-14_at_10_12_02.mov

I think the Affinity user interface in the cream of the crop for me, and studio link is incredible, but so frustrating that Designer hardly gets any love for vector based users (select same is the addition of the year or maybe two years in the latest beta) - just imagine if Designer had support for plugins and Vectorstyler built a plugin that included all it's brilliant vector tools, including it's ability to flit around (even when doing complex vector distortions) super quick with an instant screen refresh from within designer -MINT!- especially if it could be incorporated in similar way to ASTUTE plugins with illustrator, so you just had access to every vector tool you need directly from Designer - no subscription - one off purchase with updates then purchase to upgrade - Sorry - got a bit carried away

I copy and paste between Designer and Illustrator cs5, works well as long as the colour profiles match - not ideal but the most robust option - also tried inkscape which involves too much faff for me personally and is a little too laggy - there's also VectorStyler beta which has an incredible, super fast, non-destructive vector warp / distort engine but is a bit hit and miss getting complex Designer artwork to play ball, but for simple vector distortions it's ACE - shame the user interface is a little busy, but it's always improving as it moves closer to release - definitely one to watch as we may have to wait years before Designer gets anywhere close - we may never get it?

Pretty good, but not sure if I would use it as I usually do this type of thing using vectors - would be INCREDIBLE if you could use and output vectors - really need this for designer

That also describes my reaction from 6 YEARS AGO - but found out it was on the roadmap for version 1 which put me at ease a little - I'm not at ease any more!?!?!?

As soon as you make an artboard you lose your visible bleed because the artboard act's more like a page mask - hope this gets fixed???

This problem has always annoyed the hell out of me - when working on a complex job and then realise I forgot to do all the box ticking - if only you could have a preference to set scale strokes and FX to be ticked by default it would save loads of time

Don't you mean 3GB which also shouldn't be a problem for most print service providers via direct upload

Not familiar with Just colour picker - but I suspect it works by interpreting RGB values from your screen and not from within the apps - I would guess you'd be safe to go with the values from Affinity - but I can't imagine not checking seps and standards conformance before sending to your print service provider. You could always open your pdf in photo and view the colour values

YET - gives me hope 😎 ---- YES! Acrobat pro 9 (cs5) does the job but is discontinued (my choice) - other choices - Callas PDF toolbox (£500) - or go cc subscription to Acrobat - not sure if CorelDraw does this?

Do you mean 0,0,0,100??? - If I was having these problems, i'd open the liked eps and convert to curves and copy paste into the actual artwork and make solid black, although assign should work as expected - have you checked the values in Acrobat?

Looks like duplicates default to interpret even though it currently shows as passthrough. if you click on the passthrough tab and and re-select passthrough, the preview refreshes
