  1. I could have sworn this has been available since version 1.0 from 2014??!?!?! now I'm confused
  2. I think the current limitation is anything that is printable or exportable needs to reside within an artboard and your example sits on-top of your layer stack - I think the only way currently would be to duplicate and drag each into the L and R artboard layers - then you could use the tag function as described above to switch off and on (if you had a very busy layer stack)
  3. The latest beta includes 'select same tag colour' which is available via select / select same / Tag Colour and also by right clicking the layers panel, so you should be able to tag all your layers you want to switch off altogether, on different artboards, throughout your layer stack. just select one of the layers that has the tag colour you want to switch off and right click and scroll down to select same tag colour and un-tick - hope this works for you? see attached : Screen_Grab_2021-01-25_at_16_31_16.mov
  4. I didn't think I'd find a use for the isometric grids in affinity but I recently had this to do and and found it to be the perfect tool for the job. really intuitive, no messing around, just works the way you'd expect - I hope there's an up and coming perspective grid feature in the planning as I'm make tonnes of use out of such a feature, providing it works with vectors
  5. I think a combination of the two above suggestions gives an half decent result : Screen_Grab_2021-01-23_at_13_33_34.mov
  6. Also just possibly what was intended? I love the way StudioLink works, probably my favourite thing about Affinity, in my opinion
  7. Wow - Just had a play and it appears that 'select object - Curves' does what I need - even child within child within child layers - just ticked scale with object for Strokes and FX and it worked ---- ACE stuff MattP 👍
  8. I don't have a problem with opening photo for RAW development feature set or the Liquify or Tone Mapping - or export persona and whatnot I do believe that that you believe that that may be the point but I believe I have a pretty smooth workflow although I'm beginning to believe I'm being a very naughty boy for using publisher the wrong way
  9. Seeing has tick boxes for Layer FX and Strokes is still unticked by default would it be possible to have an option to select all objects that have layer FX so you can tick the sodding box in one go and save an hour of digging through layers - just spent all day on a vector illustration and realised that I've forgot to tick the majority of objects with layer FX - or is already possible
  10. I think I'll still export jpegs from Pub and make do without the preview, it's worked out ok so far - I would have thought if image preview was such a Des/Photo specialised feature it would surely be available first in export persona in Designer and Photo, which I do use, and does justify opening in Designer for all the export options - oh well?!?!?! As usual my thinking seems to be a bit arse over tit?
  11. Shame I won't be using it, although it would be really handy - why? I use Designer and Photo via Publisher studiolink 95% of the time - I thought this was the whole point of studiolink
  12. Wow - that's a bit disappointing - I'm totally with Walt on this I only ask as I very rarely open Designer or Photo as I use StudioLink in pub for 95% of the time so normally save elements as jpegs or png's (save selection without background) ----- oh well, it would have been handy in pub - and wouldn't really justify opening in Designer or Photo just for this feature
  13. How infuriating - looks like it could be a profile clash - have you tried switching off embed profiles?
  14. All seems good - Nice splash screen (unlike Designer vvv busy) Just wondering if export preview will be available to publisher, now that it's working great?
  15. I suggested a while ago similar to above, but for it to be a 'proof persona' as all the features you detail are pretty essential for worry free supplying to a print service provider. I would also add the ability to print a proof to postscript printers and retain CMYK and Vectors at least to the quality of Adobe Reader
  16. Yes a few of us have been screaming for vector a distortion/warp tool for years, which is prob no1 on my list of features I use practically everyday (Illustrator CS5 and VectorStyler), but a few other less grand omissions that don't get the spotlight would make a massive improvement to getting work: a simplify path tool plus an option to have those pesky 'scale with object' tick boxes for strokes and FX ticked by default could save hours of backtracking - also some way of forcing a global palette - yes the vector eraser in CSP is ace also the stroke width brush is brilliant
  17. Just made a quick vid to demonstrate how to achieve this but I'm having a problem uploading the video which is just a standard .Mov file - which I've uploaded loads of times but keep getting the following warning :
  18. Use VectorStyler until Designer gets it - I was really confused that I couldn't find this capability back in 2014 and was gobsmacked that it was released without such a basic standard feature, but gained some faith when it was added to the roadmap - but 😩
  19. It was probably in from the start, but might need 6 years of work to get it to play nice - why would you release a pro vector app that can't do vector distortions, as it's been a taken for granted standard requirement for 25 + years - the featured distorted artwork was probably created in an early, unstable, dev version or maybe Drawplus? we can only guess as this is a taboo subject with affinity staff by the look of it. if I've got it all wrong I'm sure we'll get some kind of staff response? 🤐
