I've understood that there is no support for anchored objects at all. Yet. Which is a bugger for all those making manuals, scientific papers and other data intensive, booklike documents where you want your s**t to run with the text. But all in a due time. The Find and Replace feature is still quite featureless too – remembering what fun it was to practically grep a book together in ID - attaching character and paragraph styles with positive lookahead or -behind. But I trust them boys to be nerdy enough to give us some candy in that area, too.

I have to add my kudos here. I just submitted a magazine that I made after opening the previous issue PDF in Publisher. It was a breeze to remake the text styles etc. You guys are doing helluva good work.

Use X-3 instead! Publisher exports X-3-PDFs without transparency. So you will not have any problems with Flyeralarm.
BTW: In a different thread I recommended, not to use Flyeralarm, because they want fonts being converted to vectors. That is more than a stupid idea nowadays, especially, because you are losing outline quality due to missing hinting informations (hints are striped by converting the font.

File / Export.../ Area (drop down menu)
Choose: 'All Pages' 
voila....

Bear in mind that the three Affinity applications use the same file format, so from that perspective Photo = Designer = Publisher and placing a document from Affinity Photo is no different from placing one for Affinity Publisher...

The instant I open the character style for the color of the DC, it changes on the page.

I didn't need to detach. That doesn't make the behavior correct. It should have changed the instant one chooses that character style for the DC.

Thanks for your report/feedback. It does respect the Bottom Align if the bottom of the text frame is also aligned with the baseline grid. Also works correctly for the left column when the text frame is set to Centre Align but fails on the second column (right) as the amount of text may differ between the two columns which is somewhat expected.

You are right @Läppä. Baseline grid only works correct, if you use a different vertical formatting than „Top Aligned“.
You can moderate this by aligning the text frames to the baseline grid and choose the same paragraph leading as the grid spacing.
If this is buggy or „as designed“ has to be told us by someone of the team.

Working. But this nagged me enough that I troubleshot it further. The baseline grid only works when the text frame aligns to top. Center and bottom alignment disable it.

Did not fully test, but it happens, when you try to replace with a different image type. Replacing JPG with JPG works.

I.e. having body text flowing in two columns but subheaders flow over the gap and the second column. This was included in Indesign some years back, and it's an ACE feature, especially when making books or ebooks, as then you can have your text flow automatically through the whole frickin' book and just have one master text frame on each page. The amount of the paragraph's column span (1, 2, 3, or all columns) is defined in the Paragraph style. This is a real power feature that I'm really looking forward to seeing in Publisher.
Thanks for the new version, looking forward to the one with Finnish hyphenation included  We can hacksaw it in, but native would be nice. The library is Public domain, after all.

But I agree that it would be great to be able to put a new dictionary in ~/Users/user/Library/Spelling/

I made a Swedish hyphenation dictionary from the Open source files at Libre Office, but it's getting tedious to install them in the actual application package every time the beta expires and there's a new version available. Couldn't the language dictionaries be stored somewhere outside the app package? For instance in a /Documents/Affinity/Dictionaries/ folder.
I attach the Swedish hyphenation dictionary folder for anyone who wants to use it when trying out Publisher.

Still hoping for the option to have paragraphs span across columns without having to create a separate text box, with all the text wrap settings and all. The ability to do this is about the only thing keeping me with InDesign. 

Sorry, I forgot to add, as mmoro said in original thread:
"finnish hyphenation dictionary started with words "charset ISO8859-1". I looked those Hunspell-dictionaries and they have only "ISO8859-1" without word "charset". So I removed word "charset" and now Publisher is not crashing."
That fixxes the dictionary.
