  1. Walt, I think he meant having, for example, titles span across columns inside the multi-column text frame. I.e. having body text flowing in two columns but subheaders flow over the gap and the second column. This was included in Indesign some years back, and it's an ACE feature, especially when making books or ebooks, as then you can have your text flow automatically through the whole frickin' book and just have one master text frame on each page. The amount of the paragraph's column span (1, 2, 3, or all columns) is defined in the Paragraph style. This is a real power feature that I'm really looking forward to seeing in Publisher. Thanks for the new version, looking forward to the one with Finnish hyphenation included We can hacksaw it in, but native would be nice. The library is Public domain, after all.
  2. CORRECTION: The hyphenation dictionary works only when you remove the first word CHARSET, not the whole line.
  3. I just noticed that when using a Drop Caps style with a paragraph that begins with a quotation mark, the Drop Cap automatically includes both the left quotation mark and the first letter. GREAT THINKING!
  4. Hi, Working on a document converted from PDF, I had some images cause a freeze any time I applied a text wrap to them. Also, I made bulleted lists using a character style on the bullet, with different font, size, color and baseline. The character style doesn't update automatically and the bullet baseline jumps erratically high, like 20 pt when it should be -3-ish. BTW, I managed to get Finnish hyphenation working on a semi-decent level using the attached Public Domain library. The library makes Publisher crash as is, but when you remove the first charset line, it works just fine. The library is not perfect, but it's a good start. Should you be able to tap into the OS X library, that would be just smooth too, but I understand it's not as simple as one would like to think . Sorry to include multiple topics in one post, bit of in a hurry here and wanted to contribute… Asukkaan_opas_01_2019.afpub fi_FI.zip
  5. Figured the issue out meself. The blur was instilled on the frame layer, not the photo, which caused the frame's X-box (which is just an interface element) to be blurred too, and it transfered all the way to PDF exports, which of course wouldn't happen in a perfect world ;)
  6. Same here, I had this happen when I added a blur to an overlaid photo. Strangely the X shows even on transparent areas, blurred. Other layer effects seem to summon the X, too. Liking the beta, by the way. 20+ years in graphic design and the transfer seems very smooth and I enjoy finding the smart stuff you'se done better than the boys in the big house.
