From 3 pm GMT on Thursday 24th December 2020 until 9 am GMT Monday 4th January 2021 the Serif company is officially closed. There will be some light coverage of the support channels during these 12 days, but most staff are taking time off whilst the offices are closed. Customer Service and Technical Support tickets will take priority and queries about bugs and beta builds will be picked up in the New Year. Unusually, the way the year has panned out a number of staff have not been on holiday for obvious reasons so some are also taking annual holiday now before this company closure, and so it is fair to say that from this week there will be fewer staff here on the forums.
Please bear with us if you contact us during this time and potentially for a short time after the annual closure, whist we deal with any backlog.
Thank you in advance for your patience and we will make every effort to address your queries in the shortest time-frame possible.

"Free vector perspective" and "Free vector extrusion" is a MUST for many professional users.
Without this function, the program can only be used by artists.
I work as a technical illustrator and would be happy to bury CorelDraw and Illustrator.
Just like Affinity Photo has replaced Photoshop.
But unfortunately this is NOT possible without these functions.
I'm looking forward to future updates and uninstall the actual designer demo again...  : - (((

+1 We absolutely need this to get rid of this shitty buggy Illustrator I'm just using as a vector shape editor, and for some vector patterns.

Free transform / distort feature is essential, we need to know where on the roadmap this feature is. Posted in the other section but hopefully this is where we might get an update response. Without it this software is unsuitable for many tasks and hoped it would have been included in the last release as so many have requested.

Lack of basic tools for an extended period undermines the faith of many who bought in to support Affinity Designer. It was my hope that by purchasing Affinity Designer I was helping contribute to a worthy option to AI. I've had to hold back on running more current MAC OS, because my aging copy of CS6 Illustrator still has many basic tools AD does not. Not to mention the time invested in getting up to speed on software that seems lacking. Then there are the hassles of working on a machine with outdated OS and unsupported security issues. If the future bares no fruit in the way of the missing basic tools many users may choose a different set of software & hardware solutions. An old 2007 Mac Pro cheese grater running 10.6, and a late 2012 mini running 10.12 has been quaint, but how long? I would happily purchase a fully equipped version of Affinity Designer 2.0 in the NEAR future. This would allow me to update my OS and let go of AI.

If at all possible save your souls with a one stop shop solution - all time wasted on workarounds, using several apps and tricks steals tons of time (and joy) that is deducted from creative time and created output. The worst business case I have seen, almost.

For 5 years you got next to nothing (vector) - so why would version 2.0 bring you a miracle - or a proper update. Look at the contour in 1.9 it is just a POC (Proof of concept) gone too far offering no creative tricks. Just more manual work and workarounds ad libitum.
Many years ago I watched a commercial for the Commodore Amiga (I wanted badly): "Dreaming is free. Stop dreaming." It actually toggled a switch in my head, I asked my employer to give me any extra work he could think of for a long period of time. He did. I worked hard, finally could purchase one and enjoyed that wonderful computer and grew with its creative software. Purchased a PC a few years later as well and ran programs on Windows 3 and 3.1 that had features you are still dreaming about and begging for. Almost 25 to 30 years later!
In a weak moment I liberated myself again from dreaming recently. Saving money is good. Wasting precious time in a short life is ... disastrous.

Unfortunately I don't know - that crash location is the NVIDIA driver, as previously mentioned, so only they can say why it is crashing. I have reported the issue to them (and shared a crash dump, to which they have confirmed the stack overflow in their driver), but as we can't reproduce it here internally, they won't investigate further.
    My only suggestions are:
    1) Report the bug to Capture One
    2) Report the bug to NVIDIA
As frustrating as this is, at this point, there is nothing else we can do.

For you previous "another one" comment, I agree with part of it and oppose part of it.
But, as you said, it's up to the AP team. So there is no point in arguing between us.
Layers are timelines, Low complexity. It is changing at this moment..

Oh, sorry! I just saw so many heated conversations regarding nodes vs anything else, that just reacted in advance. Regarding re-edit - don`t want to be involved to another one... Points mentioned does not correspond to your message, but they are still valid (imho)

Imho this is totally up to AP team to decide how to improve AP, they already proved to be quite reasonable for a product of such complexity
