@Sean P Maybe as a feature request you could consider giving the user a hint on this. So if you detect that the EPS has an embedded AI file that can't be read just display a dialog informing the user.

I downloaded some vector files from shutterstock which are supposed to be "EPS10" files. All of them look broken and differ from what they should look like. Are there known problems with EPS10 import? I did some research on this and found out that unfortunalely they have very high prices based on a quota.

Absolutely! The existing tools are full of super annoying bugs and some of them are literally known for years. I would be super disappointed if they start another tool instead of finally fixing the old stuff.

This request is similar to Linux support a evergreen. I would lalso ike an Android version, but it won't come.

As there are so many alternatives to choose from Serif may have no need to invent another. Just integrate oneof them in Designer where feature set and license allow to do so. Affinity already makes heavy use of third party libs. Why stop here?

Nope, it's still broken in 1.7.3.481. Just tested it exactly the way as in the video above. Between two images it works with "Paste Style", but this is a whole other option that has even more side effects. "Paste FX" remains broken.

Back to the topic: I used Flip PDF for some projects. The software UX is not that great, but the HTML5 export is really good. It works even fine in mobile browsers. It would be a dream if Affinity Publisher could export such a thing. ^^

This is pretty normal. If you search the forum you will find a lot of people that say "If XY would be possible, I could finally cancel my Adobe subscription". I see two categories here: People who demand tools that are just right not there like a DAM ("Lightroom replacement") and people that basicly have all they want and just struggle with minor missing convenience functions. For me the latter is the case. Indeed. First it's annoying that nobody really seems to really want improvements anymore, but after two years I can see where this comes from: It's really kind of giving it up and dealing with it. I reported many many problems for Publisher two years ago and none got solved. And sometimes I find really old ones that still are not handeled, because an iPad version has priority. "You get what you pay for." - The price point is really a very big factor here. I would in no way accept all the problems Affinity still has for Adobes pricing. But this here is another story. You should really see if the tools offer enough that justifies the money for you and base your decision on that. I bought the whole Affinity suite at the last sale, because I tested Publisher intensively in the Beta and found it suitable for my needs - even if there are many bugs and general UX problems. But I don't get or feel that excitement that some writers of blog posts have. Affinity is really hyped. Personally I don't feel that this is justified. To me it's good software at a price point where I can accept all the problems and see my investment justified. But I don't feel that I paid too less.

@pekranodon If not explicitely mentioned in a changelog you can consider bugs still existing. And some problems are really around since the beginning. Don't have too high hopes. I also changed my mind... From wanting Affinity to be perfect I now say to myself: "I can achieve what I want with this tool, even if complicated and time-consuming, and I paid only 50 dollars - so it's okay."

Most of the time I saw PowerPoint presentations it was just for fades between pages (sometimes a new effect on each slide) and having bullets points fly in. So basicly baublery. I see that some people really might need such a presentation tool, but most of the people I know would do a better job with static PDFs.

Sticky settings have been asked nomerous times for years now. I believe devs decided not to support that. But keep asking if you want.

Indeed. Ran into that problem recently. Transparency seems to be a big problem with that used 3rd party lib. I wonder if there are alternatives...

I also went to use PDFs only for presentations. Even if I use a PowerPoint master I export a PDF. First of all for compatibiliy and long term archival. But second I don't need or use those animstions. It's kind of not serious to use that gimmicks.

The strange way Affinity behaves is indeed a problem as it irritates users.
