  1. hi thanks for getting back to me. I do use a very flat profile when taking photos, I notice that there isn't such a big difference between faststone preview and v2 develop mode preview when using an image with less dynamic range. I have installed the mis/exe version and the results are the same, but the file appears in the downloads list now as v1 did. I still have to copy and paste image to desktop before opening it though. can you what this msg means please? it appears when i try to upload image to affinity. many thanks Chris R πŸ‘
  2. Hi. I have started to edit a photo in affinity 2 in develop persona. the colours are are never exactly as they are viewed from camera in faststone, but these ones seem particularly saturated. Do you have any ideas please. I have been on the assistant and removed apply tone curve. (though on affinity 2 when I turn it on nothing happens) the files are from a fuji xt3. many thanks chris *I am also having trouble with the new affinity in that I cannot seem to get it to appear in my downloads. Windows photo viewer saturates my images and that's how they appear in affinity. So I have been using faststone. But now I can't open affinity(v2) from faststone, so I copy and paste to desktop and open from there. To the results below. When I began this years ago with v1 all was fine then for some reason Windows photo viewer would show my images as taken for a few seconds, then they would switch to over saturated. I'm completely confused Hope you can help πŸ˜πŸ‘
  3. Thank you I think that's it. I've normally got that turned off but it was on for some reason. Nice oneπŸ‘πŸ˜
  4. Hi, I recently when uploading raw files from my windows 10 pc to the develop persona they have appeared dark and saturated. I am shooting them with a fuji XT3. i have attached a photo of an image as it appears in faststone on pc and then as it appears when i upload it to affinity. Any help gratefully received, i have followed other threads to tried and solve problem but no joy. cheers Chris
  5. Hi MEB, Thank you for your reply. I have tried to follow your instructions and have attached a photo to show you what has happened. I was hoping to be working on a grey scale mask and am not sure what to do with the mask I have. In PS I can mask a layer and use apply image to give me a grey scale mask, I can use a levels adjustment on that mask to then target the areas I require. I can then dodge and burn on the layer and specifically target areas without dark and bright tones bleeding into each other. Is something like that possible in affinity? Thanks very much.
  6. Hi. If I should create a luminosity selection, can I then take the black and white snapshot and adjust it using curves or levels to target the areas I want to adjust more specifically. Any help appreciated, I am massively struggling with luminosity masks in AP.
  7. Hi, is it possible to create a luminosity mask and refine it using levels or curves adjustments. In Photoshop you can mask a pixel layer and then apply image then adjust the contrast on the mask to target the areas you specifically want to adjust. You then darken or lighten the areas by painting on the pixel layer. Can I do something similar in affinity? Many thanks.
  8. Hi Lee thanks for the reply. I have had a go at that but no joy. I could not paint on the mask. is there a way to paint on a masked blank layer where you can darken or lighten targeted areas with no "bleeding". For example if I was to enhance clouds by dodging and burning light and dark areas, but as I dodged it didn't effect the dark areas and vica versa. Cheers, Chris

  10. Hi, I am happy brushing in local adjustments using - layer-invert, and white paint. How can I then make multiple adjustments to the same area without have to paint on every layer?
