  1. Hi, thanks for your response. I was just using copy & paste. If I save from 'Graphic' as a pdf and open the file in Designer, then the file opens fine w/ everything in the correct position. However, when doing so ,the 'grouped' objects are no longer grouped and some of these have many detailed parts to them & it becomes a pain to regroup them. I like to keep my options open until the final product is accepted. I have not tried exporting a grouped object as an .svg, my guess is that would work also. I was just trying to avoid those steps. thanks again...
  2. Hi, I recently purchased Affinity Designer vs 1.6.1 for a Mac Book. I'm having trouble pasting an object created from another program (and app called Graphic). For example a logo created with objects grouped together (included and not including text objects), gets separated, placed out of order, upside down or really really spread apart. Is there a different way I should be using the paste features? If the object has been 'union' ed or made into a compound path w/out any text then it seems to paste ok (but still upside down) any suggestions? thanks
  3. OK, thanks, that helps clarify what is happening in my effort to use the artboards. thank you, I appreciate it.
  4. Thank you "G", I did read all that in the help pages. Maybe I'm just using them wrong. I use the perimeter of my 'canvas' (non-white part)all the time for inspirational ideas, objects I've designed and want to keep around for other uses, text I like and don't want to forget or have to look for again, etc.. while I am working on an idea, concept or page layout. I thought the artboards would be a great way to group these and refer to them as needed. Sort of removing the clutter from around the 'canvas', hence the 'discrete' part of the artboards. BUT when I create an artboard my 'canvas' disappears? changing to the 'background color' & when I delete the artboard, it's size then becomes the size of my 'canvas' or document. Just trying to figure this out. Is this a bug? why does the 'canvas' or original new document change size? Are the artboards meant to be used with the original 'canvas' or document? Can they be used along side each other? thanks so much for your quick response.
  5. Just got this for my Mac Book air. Had a earlier version on a windows machine 5-6 years ago and I love it. I have been trying to figure out the purpose of the artboards but I'm having an initial challenge. Each time I place an dartboard on my canvas (or anywhere) then delete it.. it changes the size of my canvas to whatever the artboard size was. Also when I use an art board my canvas(the white) seems to disappear ??? So Im not sure what the point of the artboard is.. can some one please help??
