Eureka!! I found the solution!! I deleted Designer then Force Restarted and the problem went away. Thank you DWright and Paul Mudditt! I had deleted the apps and restarted the iPad to no avail. But when Paul suggested that I Force Restart, I got to thinking that a delete plus a force restart would make a difference. Thank you again.

Paul, Yes, the color picker short-cut is set to "I". I forced a restart and the problem still persists. 😕

I too have extensive solid and gradient color palettes that I wish to import into Affinity for iPad. Please, please add the ability to import color palettes into the next release of Affinity for iPad..

Note: I have reported this problem to Apple Support as well. When using the Magic Keyboard, the Color Picker pops up instead of a shape when I select and drag out a Shape Tool. I have switched Magic Keyboards, and the problem still occurs. I have deleted and reinstalled both Affinity Designer & Affinity Photo, and still the problem persists. I am running version 1.9.2 of Affinity Designer and Photo on a 2020 11 inch 2nd generation iPad Pro with iOS 14.5.1. Is it possible to install an earlier release of the Designer or Photo apps? I think that this is a problem with 1.9.2. HELP!!
