    Hey,

Could be great if affinity had something to sculpt a bit the nodes, without going one by one.

(even if only one drag brush).

Just in case someone else is looking for a solution to this still. There is still no equivalent to illustrators simplify path but there is one alternative that I have been using lately that works fairly well. You'll have to try it out to see what works for you.
    1. Select object with the node tool and make sure all nodes are selected
    2. in the action tool bar, select "convert -> smooth" or "convert -> smart" to convert all the selected nodes. (in my experience convert->smooth has the biggest impact)
    3. Now press the "action -> smooth curve"
If done in this way it actually removes quite a few unneeded nodes. The only way to customize the outcome is by manually selecting/deselecting nodes and choosing smooth or smart in the convert section.. You can do like MEB mentioned earlier and just use the action -> smooth curve but in my experience it never really changes much unless combined with "convert".
I truly hope a better option comes soon, so *bump* to the devs, simply path is a super useful tool.

+1 Had to re-subscribe to Photoshop because I acquired a client who needed psd files with editable text. I'd jumped completely off the Adobe plan almost 3 years ago. Now, when I'm working on his projects I miss my Affinity workflow between Photo and Designer for adding Call-outs and other graphics to photos. Studio Link looks to improve this workflow even more ... and now, arrowheads ... Arrrgh! And then to add to my frustration I'm playing with Procreate and it's newly added text feature and see that it exports psd files with editable text (but, alas, it has no real vector tools or full feature photo editing but ... editable text ...yes). I love the 1.7 release, and look forward to using the Studio Link buttons and other features just rolled out on my work for most of my other clients. But please save me the subscription and pain of having to switch to working with Photoshop's rudimentary vector tools next year by making editable text available in psd exports as quickly as possible across all platforms.Yes, your pricing is such that after jumping off the Adobe subscription I could afford to put both of your apps on all three of my devices.

+1 please this is such a requirement for me. Recently purchased AD and was unaware of this, in hindsight I may not have bought it if I had known as Photoshop is still a large part of mine, the companies and our clients workflows. I was gutted.
Was hoping it would of been in the latest version but no joy, any news of when / if it will be coming? Thanks.

Do you seriously ever have the intention to introduce editable text export for PSD? This has been an issue since the first version.
I hope the Affinity team understands that for lack of this one feature, many people will not switch to your entire suite of products. Developers require files provided by designers to be in PSD, with editable text. Without an editable text feature designers are forced to keep using Photoshop, therefore we have to subscribe to Adobe 'Creative' (=rip-off) Cloud, so we may as well stick with Illustrator and InDesign as they are provided in the package.
We own Affinity Designer and Photo, bought on the promise of PSD export - we cannot use them. We won't buy Publisher no matter how attractive it is because we are stuck with the need for Adobe.
There are many users who would be more than happy to drop Adobe, but will ability to export to PSD with editable text is an absolute must
