If the bug fixes work do they get carried over to the retail version at any point?

When I down loaded a beta file I now have to desk top icons for Affinity. One I’ve always had and a new one which says beta on it. They both open Affinity. Have I done something wrong on the download should it not be part of the one I’ve alway had on the desk top. Really sorry if this is the stupidest question ever I’m not completely suited to computer stuff😬

Do I just download and it installs like the updates that ping up when I open Affinity. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.😐

Firstly I'll make it clear I'm no computer person and only do this as a hobby so my knowledge is very limited It's a raw problem I guess as I only take images in raw. I've tried resting every thing and nothing works. as you can see form the attached files it's a real problem. First image is fresh import to Affinity raw develop and second is how Faststone displays it on my p.c both are raw files What is the next windows photo beta thing? I have download something from that this morning to try and help with this issues but not sure if I should have though. Any help with this will be great as my photo editing is a big part of keeping me sane whist in lock down.

Is it possible to use an older software version after I've updated to the latest. Basically I did the latest update and now files open very dark about 2 stop. I was happy before the update and now I just want to go back to that point as right now I'm stuck indoors with a editor I can't use correctly.

So here is a side by side comparison. first image opened in Affinity the second one is opened in faststone. Both are a nef raw file taken on my Nikon d3400. Also the same thing happens with my Mavic pro raw files aswell😠

Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this. There's clearly something wrong and It's making it impossible for me to edit my images. As when I bring up the EV the noise becomes very bad. Failing a fix what are my alternatives short of moving to over Light room. Which i really don't want to do as the cost is high for me which is the reason I chose Affinity. in the first place. Man I'm mad right now stuck in doors with a photo editor I can't use BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!! In camera this image is perfectly exposed in Affinity is dull as ditch water and clearly one and a half stops under where it should be.

When I import a Raw nef file it is always 1.5 stops under what all my other histograms claim to be correct. I import on 16bit. I am not an expert by any means but i'm sure this has only been a problem sine the latest update 1.8.3 Please could some one confirm this as it's driving me mad.

So to clear up my confusion is the bit that's now blue what would have been white previously.

Omg after pulling my hair out over the poor histogram in the older versions now I can barely under stand or read this new blue version. Can this be sorted in any way?
