thanks @JimmyJack , they're still not working yet though it just crashes the software. Funny thing is that the CorelDraw eps files (marked EPS1 and EPS2 above) are actually quite large files at about 1MB each. Be glad to know the other steps as it'd be great to crack this with Affinity if we can.

thanks gdenby, that makes a lot of sense, yes I wish Graphtec would update the software to read newer files.
Gabe - is it possible to produce an older version .eps within Affinity? i.e. a lower postscript level?
That message and crashing is what happens to us with .eps from Affinity too.

Yup its free so here it is.
This is the note I sent to support@seriflabs.com
Here’s the software. It’s easy to load but only works on PC, not Mac.
You will need a live webcam on the PC in order to open the software, then click File-Open to import a file.
It’s not a fault with the software as such, as it physically states that it only works with version 8 .ai Illustrator Files and CorelDraw .eps files, but if there was a compatible eps format that Affinity/Serif could produce it would great as this machine is increasingly popular in design-led printrooms and we have a problem whenever they are using Affinity.
We use Serif and Affinity ourselves but we export to pdf and then re-open the file in Illustrator and save as a .ai, fine if you have Illustrator but not if you don’t!
There must be some difference with the way the .eps file is produced within CorelDraw? Hoping you can help!

I sent the software by email, do you get that or should I add it here? Rolf

Hello Gabe
Attached are .ai files, CorelDraw eps (named EPS1 and EPS2) and also Affinity eps output and .af design files, all for the same 2 files. The Affinity eps files don't work in the software but the .ai and CorelDraw eps files do.
I could actually attach the cutter software too if it would help, its only about 7MB, let me know if you want this too.
There is no need for special names, the cutlines are just thin outline strokes of 0.25 point or 0.5 point.
Many thanks
Rolf

OK thanks leave it with me and I'll get this over to you asap!

Thanks Gabe
Not entirely sure what I mean, only that the software will accept an eps from CorelDraw just fine, but it wont accept an eps from Affinity (or Adobe for that matter)? I dont know what the difference is?

Is there any way that you could add an option to output an Affinity contour design as an Illustrator 8 file or an eps that is the same as a CorelDraw one?
We have a desktop diecutter that only works with these 2 types of files and Affinity eps doesnt work? An Illustrator 8 file is fine it doesnt need to be a newer version?

Export as Illustrator 8 file?

thanks @JimmyJack, it's working in your 3D software I can see, but still not in the F-mark software! I've tried various options of output but nothing seems to make any difference......Not sure what it is but the software just doesn't like them.
Actually the dashed lines just need to be solid magenta for the software to work correctly.
many thanks for your help though
