  1. Thanks David. Regarding your comments: 1) No. As I understand it, lens profiles are added to the lensfun database by individuals who provide lens calibration data. When Photo is updated, the latest lensfun data is included > OK and good to know. I was not aware of how lensfun was updated. ----------- 2) There are three Tamron 70-300mm lenses in Photo 1.9.2, are any of these better than no correction? > Yes. The Tamron SP 70-300 mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD (A005) seems to work reasonable well, particularly for pincushion distortion. However chromatic aberration correction was not good. ----------- There are procedures for calibration here: https://lensfun.github.io/calibration/ > Thanks. I've checked this and confirmed that this lens is not yet on the list of new lens profiles that have been requested. ----------- Aditionally, @kirkthas provided further instructions here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/143056-lens-profile-for-sigma-35mm-f2-dg-dn-contemporary-not-available/ > This is a great explanation and I may try it. Thanks! If I'm successful, I'll post an update here. ----------- 3) Well that was my understanding however there is a thread here: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4194323 which states, "Vignetting corrections on Olympus cameras are applied to RAW files." I think I've found the menu option on my EM1 mk2, it's helpfully termed "Shading Comp." and the manual gives no indication as to which files are affected, it's turned off by default and will remain so. Sorry, no idea what Lens Distortion Setting set to "AUTO" means > In case this helps anyone else, based on this I've confirmed the three separate in camera settings for Lens correction on the Sony A7II, all of which are applied only to the jpeg file, including: - Distortion which works to resolve pincushion distortion on this lens: In Camera Setting: MENU → (Custom Settings) → [Lens Comp.] → [Distortion Comp.] → AUTO - Chromatic Aberration: In Camera Setting: MENU → (Custom Settings) → [Lens Comp.] → [Chro. Aber. Comp.] → AUTO - Vignetting: In Camera Setting: MENU → (Custom Settings) → [Lens Comp.] → [Shading Comp.] → AUTO I assume that AUTO indicates that the feature is ON or OFF based on whether or not the attached lens is supported, ie A mount lenses mounted via an adaptor are not supported. ----------- Thanks again.
  2. Issue: Affinity Photo does not include a lens profile for the Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD Lens for Sony E even after adding in the latest Tamron lens profiles from GitHub.com's LensFun project repository, per this Affinity instruction video: "Adding lens profiles | Duration: 03:12 | See how to manually download and install updated lens correction profiles for new lenses" https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/330446061/ Questions: 1) Does anyone know if a Lens profile is in process for an upcoming update to Affinity Photo? 2)Until/If a profile is available for this lens, does anyone know the settings to use for this lens, or perhaps a procedure such as test chart to photograph and then use as a tool for manually setting the distortion adjustment amount, etc. 3) Do I understand correctly that in camera lens distortion correction is only applied to the JPEG files and not to teh RAW files. (this is for a Sony A7MKII, with the Lens Distortion Setting set to "AUTO"). Thank you.
