Even on this version, when I open the APP, it gives me what I want, the blank slate where I can just add shapes and immediately work on. It's only when I start a new file after I have AD open that this window pops up. That's why it's giving me a pain... I just want it to be the same always

I would like to just have a blank black field without that, as older versions did.

When I start up AD, I get a blank field, as in older versions, which I like and which is what I want. BUT, once AD is open and I start a new file, I get the preset window pop-up, which I find very annoying. Is there a way of stopping this window from popping up please? Thanks. There are SS below showing what I want and what I do not want.

Hi! I am making artwork that has many layers. When I am creating in AD on my MacBook Pro with 8 GB RAM, AD is slowing down and getting glitchy, choppy and has crashed once lately. As I am doing lots of illustration work, would having a computer with more RAM enable AD to NOT slow down? I see that my system requirements meet what is listed but I do not what AD to have these issues when I am working. Do you have any thoughts about optimizing the way I am using AD and or have any thoughts about what hardware is best for professional grade work? Thank you!

Hi! I have created a cartoon character that I want to use and reuse many times. It is made in about 20 layers. I would like to "flatten" all the layers into one so that I can replicate it many times without having it be such a heavy file. I cannot find any videos on Serif or online to tell me how to do this. PLEASE HELP! THANKS!

Hello, while I sing the praises about how superior AD is to Ai often and champion Serif and Affinity, I am very disappointed by the update, which it seems is loaded with problems, particularly snapping, the loss of snapping icons, and the loss of speed. I don't see what has been gained, but what has been lost is unquestionable. So, while you all work the bugs out, please tell me there is a way of simply reverting back to the prior and seemingly superior version that worked so near perfectly, has the snapping readily available on top, and is not slowed down? And if you don't currently have that ability, maybe you should, as it seems many people would prefer it. I hate to be critical, particularly when what you all do is so amazing, but it seems the release of 1.7 jumped the gun and now users would benefit from reverting. Thanks, Michael

Thank you. It seems I have to gain a better understanding of clipping and layers. I will review in the book. However, in the SS below, I was able to replicate the effect I am after, though in the layers panel the formula for the original red ball is one way, and the way I replicated it in the pink ball is different. This I do not understand. I welcome your thoughts. Thanks.
